This is a cool game, but could be even better. | | The Mikester from Urbana, IL, USA says (21/Aug/2003): | I recently acquired this game, so it is fairly new to me. This is a fighting game, along the lines of the Street Fighter games (and many others which imitate/follow it), so the plot is fairly simple -- fight your way to the bosses. The graphics are impressive for a first-generation playstation game, and another nice feature is the ability to select the character's alternate costume. Felicia happens to be my favorite, since she is the only one I've been able to win with. The biggest drawback to this game is that even on the easiest difficulty setting, the game is extremely difficult to win; in fact, the computer actually cheats against you (!) I can only imagine how hard the game is on the hardest difficulty setting.
Overall, this is a cool game, but if the programmers had made it a bit easier, it would improve the game's replayability. That having been said, though, I still really like this game and would recommend it to anyone who likes fighting games.
| It's great because it has amazing gameplay. | | Carla Collazo from Bayamón ,Puerto Rico says (19/Jun/2001): | Darkstalkers since it was introduced to me in the year 1998 the time i was 10 or 9 years old I played the game a lot.To me Darkstalkers is a great game cause the music makes me imaging beyond my weirdest dreams; the gameplay makes me have fun and the 12 or 15 combo of hits keeps sporting me to the practicing I do even to challenge the cpu. Playing with my favorite character Morrigan is cool for me because she has varieties of hits... plus I use her a lot because she is fast. If I had the oppotunity to rate this game at full percentage I would rate it 100% because it's a great game. 4 years later from when i lost my Darkstalkers game, now i've been able to get it back by buying it for like $12. That game means a lot to me so probably if someone hated that game and wanted to get rid of it, that person could e-mail me.
