How brilliant is this game? |

The answer to that question is:'It's the best computer game I've ever played.'
SF2 is a decent game. I won't get tired of this because it is so brilliant.
The best part has got to be the storyline. First of all Lian being captured then the plane being shot down (could be worked out from the intro)followed by the fact that the data disks are incomplete. Then Gregorov being an imposter. At the end I didn't think Teresa would be shot and I most certainly didn't think Chance would be a member of the agency.
There is a nice range of levels and everything flows. One slight fault is that it takes you until the end of disk 1 until you are actually at the C130 crash site. The first few levels seem to be time consuming but it's worth it. Some bits are easy and some bits are hard so there is a nice contrast.
Some people say SF2 is a rip off of MGS but that's impossible for the time to make the game wouldn't have been suffecient from the release of MGS and the release of SF2.
I have given each category a mark out of 10. For a 10/10 mark it adds 2 marks to the overall total.
Graphics - 9/10. Good all though the mouths don't move. A nice way to hid by not really showing close ups of the faces. Brilliant for the release date though. (Overall 2)
Sound (in missions)- 8/10. Good but the same as SF1 for most missions. But because I played SF2 first then SF1 so I wasn't too disappointed. (Overall 1)
Sound (ending music) - 10/10. Brilliant. A good use of instruments and a catchy tune. This tune stays in my head. (Overall 2)
Sound overall mark - 2
Gameplay - 10/10. Read the review for my comments on gameplay. (Overall 2)
Lifespan - 9/10. It took me long enough because I like a game which isn't too quick to finish but you don't get bogged down on certain missions and on others you zoom through. It needed 2 disks - I would have been incredibly disappointed if it finished with just 1 disk. (Overall 2)
Fun factor - 10/10. It was incredibly fun. The twists and turns were surprising which made it even better. Read the review and lifespan for more info. (Overall 2)
Originality - 10/10. A typical SF game. Because I played SF2 first I give this a 10/10 for originality whereas SF1 I only give a 9/10 because the idea was the same as SF2. (Overall 2)
A brilliant game - a must have to anyone who likes action games or liked MGS.

I thought it was really brilliant and cool! The whole family just watched the game for entertainment instead of tele, a dvd or video - it was that good! In other games you can't tell one voice from another but in Syphon filter 1 and 2 every voice is different. The graphics looked really lifelike and real. It was really hard but kept us on the edge of our seats. For the first few days we didn't have a memory card!SHOCK HORROR! But then we got one and then life was so much simpler! Syphon Filter 1 and Syphon Filter 2 were both very original! The fun factor was 110%. The storyline was fascinating, The new characters were very interesting, The cutscenes made the game more like real life, and to see the characters react to Gabe or Lian (or whoever is the main character is at that moment) without even controlling them with the controller - it is just like WOW! My favourite weapon is the air taser because when you are on the last baddie you can shoot at him with it and watch him burn for hours on end!!! The only thing I would change is that on each level there should be at least one gun with unlimited ammo( apart from taser and knife ). Because it is really annoying when you are on the last baddie out of a large group and you suddenly run out of ammo, and all you have left is your knife.
Apart from this I do actually like the fact that there is no unlimited ammo because it makes the game more lifelike.

When i fisrt saw the game in the movie store, i knew i had to have it. The characters looked cool, especially Gabe. Then i bought the game, i loved it from the start. the game play was good, the missions hard as hell, thats a complement, i like hard games, i kept dying but afterwards i mastered it and now am a hero. the graphics, sound and quality was extremely well done. The only thing was that i wished it was longer. Syphon Filter 2 now was way better then the first in every way. amd this time i thought it was almost perfect but i wished it was longer. this one was much more harder then the first. But i loved the guns and the game play. also the fact that you could play two player mode and that you got to play as more then one characters. Gabe Logan, Liang Xing and teressa are the best game team ever to be created. the action and movies in these games are way higher above the rest. Now i am on my way to beating yphon Filter 3, its hard as hell, but it still rules. i recommand it to those who love hard to beat video Games. and for all those playing them good luck!!

This is a great game cause you have to think in this game alot you cant just go shooting everyone like in Doom or Quake.Certain people you cant kill like the GI's or Airbase personel , also this game is very very very HARD i have beaten about 18 missions plus in some levels you cant use your weapons except silenced weapons or a taser. The only problem with this game is its really hard at some points and the bosses are hard especially Archer and Chance. Oh yeah Chance is a iousy bastard he turns on you at the end.The hardest missions are C-130, Pharcom, The Sewers , Finale,Disco, and a few others. The AI is really good like when your about to shoot an agent in the head he rolls on the ground and you miss plus your Flak Jacket isnt some magical Armor that will protect you against anything that comes by.The game has great weapons my personal favorites are the M79 the Air Taser, Grenades, and the 12 gauge shotgun. Get this game its the BEST!!!

if you think sf2 is sorta good you're wrong, it's the best! if you wanna great fun game this is it. in two player mode walk up behind yo buddy with ur knife target lock 10 feet away, and bam! he's down! You can get some awesome charactors too, like anton gerdoux, he talks to you! and who wouldn't want to be a bag lady? lol! you want a code? ok! in two player mode go to the slums, hang by the table and have your buddy cut you up, suprise you cant die or shoot but it's fun taking a bullet to the brain and walking away!you can go and get a new level in the third one, first one, 6th one 8th one, and so on.In 2 player mode after you can play in the rocky mountains you can use a sniper rifle! it's fun untill your sister nails you for shooting her in the azz from 70 feet! lol! another cheat ok! highlight "map" then press right+l2+r2+surcle+square+x! cheats will appear under options.A good one is also "weaponry" l2+select+surcle+square+x!

Ok, so there are 3 words to describe the SF series. THESE GAMES ROCK! If you want to see an action packed beginning and end like one of those cool movies, go for this game and you'll be barking up the right tree!! Here's a review of the stuff in the game:
Fun-10/10
I love sneaking up behind some bad dude and just slitting his throat or zapping him in this game.
Graphics-10/10
If you liked the graphics on MGS, You'll love how realistic stuff looks on here- If you kill a person, THEY'LL BE IN A POOL OF BLOOD-very real.
Gameplay-10/10
Who thought you could be outside in the streets of Moscow with a teargas launcher? Or at a disco with a .45 handgun? heh heh heh!
Difficulty-10/10
Not too hard, not too easy, another great game by Eiditic/989 Studios!
Plot-9/10 Great beginning and end, begins with a Chinese town being assaulted, ends with a funeral!
Overall- 49/50 :):):)

I played Syphon Filter2 at a freinds house and recently bought it.I think a major improvment has got to be the 2 player mode.My Friend and I played 2 player for about 3 hours,it's so fun and you get extra levels and characters to get in one player.Also the graphics have been improved also the sound.There's one thing,that's the difficulty.For the people who are used to games like Metal Gear Solid will find they completed it in possibly a day.But others new to these games could find it hard,I did at first.Otherwise this game is very exciting and will keep you playing it.It is definitely a game everyone should have on their shelf.It is an improvement on the first one.

This is the best game I've got, period.The only reason I didn't give this game the ful marks was because I really can't work out how to make those cheats work on it.(It would be great if one of you guys could help me out on that, my email is right here)I've already completed the game once, and right now I'm trying for a second.Thats another thing, almost every time I complete a game I end up never playing it again, with this one thats not the case.For those of you who haven't completed the game, a piece of advice is not to get too friendly with Chance.For those of you who have completed the game, you know what I mean.Good luck with the game.

when i first played syphon filter 1...it rocked as hell!!!!1 So when i heard that part 2 was comin out .....even better..i got all excited and $#< remove me > at !!!! After beating and playing both parts for a couple times i realized that syphon filter 1 was a lil better than part 2 in the sense that part 1 was more of a "shoot and run" game while part 2 was more of a "trial and error". Anyways now that I heard and read all about Syphon Filter 3 coming out on Sept 26,im def gonna get it because i read this time u have the option of completing the missions by either "shoot or run" or by using stealth. Anyways its the last part in the series for the playstation!

Syphon Filter2 is a must have game.I like this game because of the action and blood. The graphics are a bit cheese,but thats alright.The sound is great in the beging of a mission and at the end of the mission which makes the sound a 10. The lifespan is great because not all shots will be stoped by your armmor.A head shot will put you out of the action in an instante, so remember to roll. SF2 is a fun game and is beond originality and the value is high.While you are playing paues the game and go to weponry and hold select,l2,o,square,x. It will let you kill and body with one bullet no matter if they are whereing a flate jaket or not.

I only write this review to give a voice to those who are not into this genre. If you are, read the other reviews. I don´t like the game because I constantly get myself killed and have to start over again. This makes me feel like an idiot instead of an action hero. (Which would you prefer?). There is little room for creativity. You have to find THE right solution instead creating your own. It´s all about trial and error, and i simply don´t like it.
(Editor: Aaah, that's what StationPlay is for! You have one of the best games ever made, FINISH IT!)

Tho posing little to no chalenge for me at all... (bit of a letdown) it waz ok so i give it a score of 5/10... if the multiplayer settings where better (ie. able to go against the computer with better AI settings) and the HARD difficulty waz a selection after you finished the game on the normal setting then it would be a game to get with chalenges... i found the first Syphon Filter game more chalenging than this..... but its still a game to get if you are thinking of getting Syphon Filter 3.... to keep the storyline strait...

I played the first syphon filter and I was amazed. I couldn't wait for number 2. When it was released I was probably the first one to buy it. When I played on it, it was great. The graphics aren't top notch but the gameplay is fantastic. The controls are so easy a baby could play it. The sound is very realistic, the levels are long and hard. Syphon filter is a game you either love or hate. I suggest you rent it and if you like it definatly buy it but if it's not up your street then give it a miss. I strongly recommend it.

This game is a must have for a player who likes to play sneaking games like MGS or Tenchu. If you didn't like SF1 too much, don't worry! This one's a lot better, now it offers many sneaking sessios where it's vital to get trough unnoticed. By the way, there ARE parts where your only goal is simply to shoot 'em all down with heavy firepower like shotguns and grenades. I think the only "not-so-good-part" of the game is graphics, everything else is just first-class, especially the sound effects! It's simply a MUST HAVE!

Only the Best game ever!Syphon Filter 2 is the best game ever.when I played on the first mission i blew a terrorists eye out.I think that the best gun on that game is the HK-5 machine pistol cause if 5 guys are coming up on u than u can just take it out and aim lock and start shooting and u just kill all of them.I think all of the weapons made in america are on this game no doubt.cut scenes and movies make the game the best, Whatever u want Syphon Filter got.If u want the gae just get it.It Is THE BEST GAME EVER.

This is one of the gratest games I have ever played the Ai is great the graphics are great and the level of depth in the game is great too I loved this game but I completed it in 2days but there were place's were I got stuck the sucrity point in the prison brake out were you have to get Gregaov Over all this game deserves a 10/10 and how chance was working for the agince I dident se that so when I start form the start on the therid level I always shoot chance a couple of times just so he limps but not to kill him

It's cool hard to stay undercover. Being unseen is an advantage but when ya want to destroy someone it isn't. Gunshots tip others off. There are to many gards around the control tower. Lian always gets caught. Then trying to deactivate the bombs on the bridge its almost enough to drive you crazy. Then Chance is a trator who is impossible to beat. The UAS-12 knocks him back but what do you do when you run out of bullets. Any body wants to talk about this game my adress is on your screen

I am have played heaps of shooting games in my life and when i saw syphon filter 2, like you I thought it would be good. When I played it I found out it's the crappest piece of dribble ever made[even as bad as tetris]. The colours are crap, the graphics are as bad as supermario1, it sounds crap,I completed it in 3 days with no cheats, it isn't even fun and it's just a complete rip off from METAL GEAR SOLID, now that's a good game.
