I think that Koudelka is a great rpg.5393

Brandon from Reedsport, Oregon, USA says (22/Jan/2002):
I think that Koudelka is a great rpg, despite the loading times. The graphics are good, the sfx/music are good, and gameplay is great. I wish that the loading was quicker and the weapons did not break as often, but it is definately worth your time.

Euan from Barrhead, glasgow, Scotland says (4/Apr/2004):
this is the most amazing game ever for the playstation 1!!!
My freind once had it and gave me a lone of it for a short period of time, it was amazing! In a matter of days i was hooked, my dad then took me to "Game" in Braehead shoping center near Renfrew. I played it day and night for weeks trying to get my levels up then i managed to get the 3rd disk when i met this monster called the scape goat see http://www.koudelka-thegame.com/gameinfo/monsters.asp it was realyhad and i kept geting stuck so i gave up then i moved house and it got lost :(
that was over 3 and a half years ago. My wee sister need help with final fantasy IX(9)and that had reminded me and ive been hoping to buy it from some where. but enough of that go buy this game it's the best ever!!!

If I had listened to the critics, I would've never played it!2462

A gamer from North Carolina, USA says (10/May/2001):
Koudelka is one of the better action/rpgs out there. The graphics are great, the music is okay and the voiceovers are excellent. The story line seems kind of meaningless at first but eventually it will open up as you proceed thru the game. The areas are dimmly lit, making it difficult to see items, doors, etc. However, so are virtually all of the areas in games like Tomb Raider,Soul Reaver,Silent Hill and Vagrant Story! Just adjust the brightness on your TV okay? The only part of the game that I didn't like at first was the battle scenes and the game play during combat. Its a little too slow but I eventually got use to it. What really makes this game shine is the cinematic cut scenes. They even top FFIX in my opinion. If you are a fan of Resident Evil and Parasite Eve you should definately check this game out!

i agree with Dublin Man28223

Ash from lake forest, ca, united states says (20/Jul/2003):
it did suck. the only spiffy about it was the fact that you could customize your chars. but if you want that, get baldurs gate or something. it was fun for a little while, but it just got repetetive and boring. i too study ghosts and not all are bad but it made no sense why no one was scared because 1. they are in a place filled with malevolent and evil spirits. 2. they were immediately attacked by a mutant squirrel and theres creepy atmosphere. 3. the caretakers tried to poison them, shoot them, cause a cave in on them and other things. 4. some of the corpswere fresh. it made no sense. the ge was god in fe factors. i rowr at it and give it a 4.

gogeta from la, usa says (15/Aug/2000):
this game has ff8 graphics, but loading time is terrible. how ever this game is a mixture of ff8, ff tactics, and resident evil. very unique. however the game is very simplistic and one tracked. could be better. but idea of the game is good. prob a first of its kind

Top or flop1706

S. G. Loucan from Manchester, England says (15/Jan/2001):
Just a few quick words. I remember hearing about Koudelka shortly before it was released, a number of reviews slamming it down as something less than a classic. Yeah right!
A classic it may not be, but neither does it deserve all the derision it has suffered in its short life. Granted, the voice overs need some work, I don't know many Welsh girls with a Brooklyn accent after all. At the end of the day Koudelka kept me happily entertained for a good four days, after which time I stumbled across the ending. Perhaps there are more, I haven't checked yet. Do not be swayed by the short sighted review board, Koudelka is worth shelling out for. Highly challenging at times and downright annoying at others, it comes highly recommended.

Sue Bolden from Norfolk says (21/Jan/2001):
I've read a lot of reviews that put 'Koudelka' down, but I found it entertaining for weeks and I still haven't completed it! The voices and graphics are at good standard, and it is a 'must have' for any devoted RPG fan.

Absoulutly amazing, with awsome graphics for cg movies6000

Davyd from Oxfordshire, England says (26/Feb/2002):
I like this game because of the story line, the gameplay and other things (Koudelka herself). I have become so facinated in the game that whenever I'm bored I always want to play that. I have a few good games but this one tops them all. Even though it gets a bit tedeous, but I like it anyway, because you only have three characters to train instead of 7 or 8 which kind of sucks cause you have to switch your two other party members and train two others up , which is really really anoying if you ask me.

Reasons to dislike20623

A gamer from Dublin, Ireland says (5/Apr/2003):
If you site owners wish for me to explain every little piece of detail I have then I will attempt to do so.
Koudelka, at first seemed to be quite the bit of fun to play, but there are many reasons why to me, it did not stay as such.
The characters themselves are poorly created. You have a slut, a loud mouth and a fogey thrown together to create the worst band of arguers there ever could be. Then you have them stumbling into a monastery for a ridiculous reason, risking their lives just to investigate and prove that a rumour they heard is true. The game's atmosphere is terrible, it is gloomy and chilling.(Don't bother calling me a chicken because I study ghosts and do not fear them) You're finding bodies and blood everywhere the whole time, and no matter what happens the characters never seem to be even the most remotely bit scared, which is a pure sign of a lack of creativity and poor A.I.
I know many people who would agree, mind you, and whether this is or isn't posted, it matters not, as I have made my point.
To hide this from viewers is a pure sign of immaturity and the only reason the game is not utter bull is because of Koudelka's ravishing beauty, be she annoying or not.

A blend of the best!!!!!25022

Nathan Williamson from SD, USA says (8/Jun/2003):
If you put all your most favorite games together no matter what they were and make a so called Dream Game it would probably have something in common with Koudelka. SNK made this game to be outstanding. Its not a sit back and relax type of game though. But that is not a problem with me. This game has a hardcore storyline and an even more hardcore difficulty. I would recommend this game to a 5 year old girl who was affriad of the dark just because I wouldnt want her to miss it.
