The Beast RPG I've Played In A long Time |
| Aaron James Rose from Warwick, England says (29/May/2002): |
Ever since I completed FF7 and FF8 I've been searching for a new RPG game to start at so got Final Fantasy IX! One thing it has over the other games is the fact that the main character isn't a stiff, loner that eventualy falls in love! (That bit realy pisses me off!). The game has much more action that the previos games and the movies are much better. Altho tha summons arnt as powerfull that have a much better and cooler part to the game and the storyline, EG: Barehe useing Odin the destroy Cleyra Bahumut blowing up Barehe ect. Completley stuning graphics let you see the buitey of Piniclle Rock and gloomy Memoria in full detaial. Keeping chocobos isn't as good as on FF7 but still good,
but golden chocobos can fly wich is good. Plus you save the game with theese little creatures called Moogles (My favourite moogle is Stiltskin, I HATE Mogster!) Like all the other games it gets very strange at the end. I havent completed it yet but i'm on disc four, I can't beat the second Chaos Gardian in Memoria!
So in the end I'd give Final Fantasy IX 10 out of 10!

ItS tHe BeSt...It ROCKS! |
| KiT from San Diego, U.S.A. says (27/May/2002): |
First of all, I'm not THAT much of a Final Fantasy Fan a few months ago. The first FF game I played was FF 8 and although I think it was a kewl game, I wasnt that absorbed in it.
So one day, I was on this very computer, chatting on AIM when my little brother came storming into my room, and stuck some new game into my playstation. I wasnt surprised...it happened often.
I asked him what game it was and he said it was Final Fantasy IX.
I was like, "ooooookay" and went back to laughing with my friend about my game-obsessed brother.
Then, one week later, I was stuck at home with nothing to do. That's when I spotted the innocent FFIX cd case and I thought, "what the heck!" and stuck it in my playstation.
I had thought it would be some futuristic game like FF 8 but nuuuuuuu. The theme was my favorite theme! Medieval time!!!!!
So I INSTANTLY got hooked.
Anyways, after a few hours into the game I even got MORE hooked than EVER before.
I loved the characters' parsonalities. I loved the CGs (computer graphics). I loved the story line. I loved the quotes of each character. I loved EVERYTHING about it.
Final Fantasy IX truly is a great game and the best RPG the world will EVER see.
What could be improved? NOTHING.
I'm not picky about games and I can't point out a single thing bad about this game.
For those who havent bought/played it yet, I'll say, "SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!!!"
I have nothing more to say...except for...
THIS GAME RULEZ!!!!!!!!!!

This is the best! |
| Shaun Ho from Singapore says (20/May/2002): |
This game is the best game i've played on the PS. The main character is Zidane, and i don't understand why people say that he looks like a female.. Yeah, the beginning is boring, but once you get to disc four, its real great. You are given pure freedom, but the map music then really bites. There's one thing i don't understand. how did Ozma, Hades, and Necron come about? They were unknown until i fought them. Also, Ozma was absurdly tough. took me about 10 tries to get him, and the final battle against him took me 45 minutes filled with mostly feeding my characters with remedies. Although that, i think that the ability learning system is great, the graphics are great and also the sound effects and music. I LOVED the part in which they played "you're not alone" in the pandemonium. it really added some great ambience to the plot. That part really sounded like some sort of Chinese drama. I almost cried there.. because of the music. I find it rather funny that the "model" of Vivi was so widely used in the ff series. also, that Cid must have been the 7th or 8th Cid in the series, but that adds to the fun right?
The part which i disliked the most was the desert palace, where the music really ruined the scene, but hey, its such a small issue compared to the rest, which is why i put a 10 up there.

A worthy sequel |
| Glen Mack from Birmingham, England says (9/May/2002): |
Although FF9 is a very good game in it's own right, I don't think the story or gameplay live up to that of FF8 or FF7. I have however, fallen in love with little Eiko Carrol, (A great name for her is Elphie, because she looks like an elf and reminds me of Selphie, from FF8) The graphics are vastly superior, but I think the music and atmosphere don't really feel very FF! Anyone wants to let me know what they think... uwgc< remove me > at yahoo.com

One of the best... |
| Becky from Tetbury, England says (2/May/2002): |
I think Final Fantasy IX is a brillant game. I think it's nice to have a change from futuristic to medival/renaissance theme. I think the storyline is great, the graphics were superior to the other Final Fantasy games. The FMVs are great, the way they did them I don't know but they're the greatest thing t watch. The characters were well designed and most of them have a good history behind them. The music, well some of the music is great! But you can get really annoying music like the Treno or Ipsen's Castle. My friwnd thinks the Rat Dance is the best. It's defintilly a game that will be re-played over and over again to all hose who loved it. However it is really easy if you know what you're doing, and there are so many mini games that are great. Chocobo Hot and cold for example. There are also lots of things added from othe Final Fantasy games with I like seeing, like Cloud's Sword and the fact the Regent Cid is an Airship type of man like Cid from Final Fantasy VII. Final Fantasy IX is defintally a game that goes to the wall of fame.

Best FF Game ever |
| David from Manchecter, England says (29/Apr/2002): |
I thought they couldn't beat final fantasy eight but they far outweight everything in nine. The FMV's are really cool and the game play is excellent, I also enjoyed the story line which like all ff games was great. I loved the more medevil type background of the game instead of the futuristic world of eight. I hope ten will be just as good although I was not happy about the fact that you can't rename your characters

Not what I expected.... |
| A gamer from Killeen, Tx, Usa says (27/Apr/2002): |
This game didn't intrest me at all, I thought the CGs were pretty good. Other than that it's rubbish. I've played the other Final Fantasy games and the graphics were indeed better than the other games. The story line though was really boring. I didn't feel I had much freedom in the game. The music was ok and the battle system was good but the ability learning was SO rubbish! It sucks having a character thats really weak cause you have to learn all the abilities the accesories give you. Especially when your at a hard boss. When I played it I asked myself "Why am I playing this game?". I think SquareSoft could have done better.

Leader of the RPG's |
| Ma Al Ta from Ruabon,Wales says (27/Mar/2002): |
To sum it up in one, Final Fantasy 9 is spectacular. The movies are stunning, the battle system is spectacular and even though I worshipped Final Fantasy 7 & Final Fantasy 8, number 9 shall be it's leader! The storyline is immense because you get suked into there magical world. As Final Fantasy's biggest fan I have to say the characters lives are amazing (I wish I had a life like that?!). It could have been longer and harder but that is no excuse not to call it the best game ever!!!!

The Best Final Fantasy ever |
| Final Fantasy Freak from UK says (23/Mar/2002): |
I totally think that Final Fantasy 9 toally blows you away with the new characters, weapons, and a great storyline. Nice modern between past technology games like recent final fantasies. If you want a game to play for your life, this is it!

Final Fantasy 9 is a game you have to go out and buy. |
| E nyce from bridgeport,ct USA says (13/Mar/2002): |
It was a really a wonderful RPG. It had a good storyline, wonderful characters, and beautiful CGs. What I really like about the game was the new ability system. Also I liked the battle system too. I thought the game was kinda short though. But it was still alot fun. I think it was one of square's finest masterpieces. This is the best final fantasy game i've played thus far. I love the storyline, movies, characters, abilites, everything!!! If you haven't played it yet, your missing out.

THE BEST!!!!! |
| Mark Williams from Nuneaton,England says (11/Feb/2002): |
I think this game is still one of the best even though it's been out for a while.I think the storyline is a bit strange but it is strange in all of the FF games. The graphics are great and some of the cutscenes are truly breathtaking. The lifespan could long but some people might get bored of it quickly. The music and sound is good but i dont think the battle music is very good. I find i cant get enough of this game.

not that great.. |
| Sakura from edmonton, canada says (24/Jan/2002): |
i was dissapointed it had potential but it wasn't that great. I thought that it was stupid to go back to the old style. the story got boring after awhile. the last disc was stupid specialy cause you couldn't do anything. the endboss was really stupid..were did he come from? i guess the mogs were really cute and the chocobo thing was ok but it wasn't really that great.

This game rules my life!( sad isn't it? ) |
| Chris from Northampton England says (16/Jan/2002): |
About three years ago I was on a holiday in the south of France and just on the day that we were going to head home to England, We stopped in a nearby supermarket called the "Giant"(pronounced in French) and I saw the game Final Fantasy VII. Remembering about 2 years before that I was round this kids house and he was trying to beat emerald weapon and I just loved watching the game so I decided to try it out. When I got home it was about 3am so I decided to get some sleep rather than playing it. When I woke up I saw it lying there next to my bed. I jumped up and slammed it in to my playstation and was exteremely pleasently suprised (even though the game was in french) The next day I got to the 69th floor of the Shinra tower and my mum was going shopping so I went with her and bought the English copy of the game. for three years I have played these games solidly for 12 hours every day. Before FF9 came out I was reading a preview of it in the Official Playstation magazine. Looking at the screenshots I was not too impressed, but the moment I got that game I have played it solidly and have now completed it for my 12th time. I love these games, I would even bet you that no one else loves these games more than me! Every single peice of school work has a Final Fantasy influence. If there were more stars at the top they would all be filled, Thankyou for reading.

THE GREATEST GAME EVER MADE IN HISTORY!! |
| A gamer from Sacramento,California says (6/Jan/2002): |
Hey,you look up excellent in the dictionary you will find this game right there. Its got great graphics,kick-a** characters, and, great music.Beatrix is so fine.8 was good, but this was mutch better. You have to play this game.Zidane was really cool. His thievery can take away 9999,if you steal enough.Dagger is also a babe. The funny one was Quina because s/he always was hungry.Vivi had great black magic like doomsday. Not to mention no boss has over 70,000 hp.The bosses got a little bit weaker.I like how if you reflect a magic off of yourself, the magic is 2 times stronger then it originally was.

Best Game Ever made |
| David Tashner from Richmond, Virginia, USA says (1/Jan/2002): |
Final Fantsay 9 is the best game ever made for any game system. Ever. It combines a great story line with great graphics and awesome weapons and abilities. I think that you really get to know the characters in this game and the way that they interact is incredible. The only bad thing about Final Fantasy 9 is that it ends. The relationship between Dagger and Zidane is fun to watch and the way all the people react to different things that happen during the course of this game is also cool. If it's boring during the beginning, just wait because once your characters become more powerful and get better items, the game gets reallly great. I've only played this game once and it only took me about a week and a half to beat but I can't wait to play it over again. This is the best game ever made and i recommend it to every person who has never played it.

THE BEST GAME THAT EXISTS. |
| Samaan Mahmoudzadeh from Sacramento(Calafornia)USA says (23/Dec/2001): |
FFIX is full of action and adventure,if your a real Final Fantasy fan you would have beaten FFIX.I have already mastered Final Fantasy 1-10.I'm waiting on FFXI,for the PS2.I love FFVII and FFIX,Final Fantasy is great and long.FFX is a 6 disk game,so prepare yourself for the time of your damn life.FFix and FFX are great, but FFVII out classes them all.FFVII isn't as long as FFVIII or FFXI,but still has plenty of exhitment. The main people in FFVII,FFVIII,and FFIX are:Cloud,Squall, and Zidane.I have to say out of those three Cloud is the coolest strongest person of all time. And thats my review on Final Fantasy IX,Thack you all.

Final Fantasy Fantastic PSone Finalé! |
| Dean Birkett from Leeds, England says (6/Oct/2001): |
If you looked up the definition of brilliance in the PSone dictionary, you'd find pictures of Zidane Tribal, Eiko Carol, Amarent Coral, Vivi Orunitia, Garnet Til Alexandros the 17th and the tiny lil' mascot Oglops! This game is truly a cake-muncher and one hungry one at that. And with a truly deep storyline, and characters to match, this is a true K.O.!
Queen Brahne at war with neighbouring countries, Zidane and his band of genlemenly thieves are hired to kidnap her daughter Garnet and bring her to the safe outlying boundries of Lindblum, far away from Alexandria and Garnet's evil mother. But it turns out that Queen Brahne is only a backup of a more sinister force -the one known as Kuja. Kuja's evil plan - to bring down the panet of Gaia with the help of one evil suppressor known as Garland (later turning into his worst enemy) and the mist that covers the entire of Brahne's continent.
Can Zidane and his friends stop the evil Kuja before it's too late? 'Course he can! Just play an' see how, that's all I'm asking!
