The realism of the game |

I have a PS2 to so I bought NHL 2001 with the package. I had allready played the game at my friends house and I thought the people in EA Sports took there time to make it so real and sweet.
So the only thing that I wan to see in NHL 2002 is if a player gets a hatrick the hats will be coming down and in Florida the plastic rats would come down if someone scored in the playoffs.
I'm very excited to see this years rosters moved around. Like Hasek on Detriot, Mogliny on the Leafs and Jagr on Washington as well as the new olymipc rosters.

With PS2 on the horizon and Dreamcast games looking great, it is hard for PS one sport games to stand out. But take notice, the gameplay on NHL 2001 is solid. With additions of a NHL Challenge Mode to boost your created player's attributes, a Big Shot button to compliment the Big Hit button, a Momementum Change Meter that changes the flow of the game and a Game Speed Meter in the options menu to customize the gameplay the way you want it, this is not NHL 2000 in NHL 2001 packaging with different menu's. The one timers have been fine tuned and the passing is crisp and on the money. I know you are waiting for PS2 and Dreamcast hockey games, but hockey fan or not, if you loved the EA hockey games of old and believe that gameplay is just as important as graphics, then NHL 2001 belongs in your library.

The reason that I think NHL2001 is the best game is because it has great graphics and I like hockey games that you can fight in.
I also like how the game is different every time and not all the goalies play the same. In other games you could have a overall rating of 50 or 100 and the player would be the same, but in NHL2001 the rating does matter. I also like the way that you can trade players even if they don't have the same rating. Now I can have all of my favorite players on one team. I would strongly recommend this game over any other NHL game.

If you are planing to buy thins, don't. This game really sucks and shouldn't be even allowed in North America. I feel I got ripped off my free Blockbuster rental coupon after I rented and played the game. If you ask me for advice, it is simple. Never buy (or rent) any games produced by EA. From now on, whenever i purchase any sports game, its going to be 989sports all the way.
