Valkyrie Profile.... One of the greatest games EVER! | | Alan Parson from Franklin, IN USA says (24/Jan/2001): | Valkyrie Profile. When my friend loaned it to me, I thought, "How dull. Some stupid game dealing with old Norse gods? Give me a break." But I'm a pretty open-minded guy, so I put it in, fired it up, and started a file on Normal. As soon as I saw the Opening Movie and Prologue, I knew I was in for a treat. With graphics that rival life itself, vivid voice acting, so real, you could swear that the people were standing right there, and music that empathized the mood, I knew it was a great game. As I immersed myself into it, I discovered the "B" ending. Wanting more, I switched to hard. With all of the recuritable characters, including the 3 optional in the Seraphic Gate (Brahms, Freya, and Lezard Valeth), this game had everything! As soon as I returned it to my friend, I went out the next day and bought my own copy.
Now, me and my friends have tried to identify some voices. Listen carefully to them, and tell me if we're right:
Mystina - Jesse from Pokemon
Jayle - Ash from Pokemon (I kid you not!)
As for the lifespan, you can play through the Seraphic Gate multiple times, because there are rewards if you defeat it 10+ times. And there are always challenges, like defeating bosses tht previously whooped you, or finding new combinations. One of the truly great games, it deserves all 10 points, and probably more.

In this game you play a Valkyrie, choosing the souls of the fallen worthy enough to fight for the gods, and then train them. This game rocks!!! It is very reminiscent of Y's (wanders from Y's, an older title on SNES and other systems) It combines stratagey/RPG/Action all into one, they talk AOLT, the music is great the combat system is very simple to command but cool enough that it doesn't get to tiring. Also the puzzles you must solve using ice crystals you blast around are challenging. All this as well as a SUPER COOL varitey of characters (who you get a back story of when you pick them up, very neat as you relate to them) to choose from! It also has TREMENDOUS replay value!!! I finished the game in about 20 hours on normal mode, but each mode (easy, normal, hard) gives you accsess to different characters, levels, items, and endings!!! And even if you play the same mode, it doesn't necessarily give you the same characters, items, etc!!! In my opinion this game was a great buy and is easily able to fit into your collection of games whether you enjoy action, adventure, stratagey, or RPG.
| its great! you gotta play this game! buy it while stocks last! | | lenneth_trowa from singapore says (29/Dec/2002): | wow! this game's great ! better than final fantasy! almost better than legend of legaia! pals, you all gotta try this game out ! its not that difficult, except for the monster bloodbane, need some help and guide to defeat that gigantic dragon. loki and surt aren't much better than it. hint: during the battle against loki, use arngrim, mystina and jelanda. use the mages to start the combo and then use arngrim to boost the energy gauge then use valkyrie to do the last hits. during purify weird souls, use valkyrie as the last one, meaning use the others purify weird souls ability first. after the battle , great shows await. hint: forget about the gram. it cost a bomb. try valkyrie favor and bahamut's tear, or rather elven's bow.

The storyline revolves around the Battle-Maiden Lenneth Valkyrie, 1 of 3 godessess of fate. With 20+ playable characters, over 200+ enemies & bosses, great voice-acting, beautiful graphics, detailed cutscenes, & excellent battle system equals up to a perfect game in the battle turn-based role-playing genre. The game's secret dungeon, The Seraphic Gate, can be accessed once the game is beaten. But without the Flame Gems collected only in the Hard Mode of the game, you don't have any access to the powerful equipment that can be found ONLY in the Seraphic Gate. All in all, this is one of the year's best RPG's released. I give it a 10 out of 10.
| an excellent game | | matthew from Timmins ont. contry says (11/Sep/2003): | an ecellent game if you like an rpg style game with action elements with three possible endings tons of playable characters and three difficulty modes the characters actually speak 99% of the timemakes it easier to follow the storyline endings depend on ALL the actions you make there are tons of dungeons each with complex puzzles and traps on this game magic does not take mp it just adds to your ct which won't let you use magic or specials until it reaches zero each character his or her own special abailityand this is just a smll part of the game i encourage you to buy it

I mean the story is so in depth and almost accurate towards Greeks Mythology and the battle system is unbeiliveable. If you loved Star Ocean you can definetly appreciate this game. Even if you hadn't played Star Ocean this game is still worth playing!!!

The people in this game talk in conversations 99% of the time (this is great if you get tired of reading, you read enough in school anyway, this is also great if your eyes hurt from reading tiny print in school books,too) this makes normal conversations fun. The graphics are cool too

The "B" ending doesn't go in depth but you can probaly piece together from parts in the game. Overall, Very Good Game!!
