I have many other games for my Playstation but this is my ultimate favorite which I normally play. The rest are crap or too boring for my liking. I think that the game is very long to load, however I think its worth all of the effects and great characters such as Trish Stratus, Lita, Jaquiline, APA, Stephanie McMahn, Shawn Michaels, The Big Posse, Albert, Test and so on. Alot of backstage areas which are pretty awesome which I prefer to fight using Anywhere Falls just to tour around the place! You can creat a Superstar; if you make a female it will only allow you to enter her in the Womens Catigory and Tag Team. Men also follow under different categories depending on if they're light or heavy weights. Other than that, its awesome!
NOTE:// Chyna can follow under mens categories. Not sure why but she does!!

I've played the game and it made my adrenalin flow any time i play it.The music for the game makes no point at all and the uncountable loading makes the game slow.The graphics is superb but the season is not that interesting as there is no story line in it.I would have liked it better if there is a referee in the ring that you can easily knockout during fight and will be the one to disqualify of choose a winner after a fight.I will like if the game is up dated and current fighters included just as soccer game is up dated.I do not no what that man on season does.He interviews the wrestlers after a fight but always shake his head and gestures in only one way.If his reactions can not be predicted,it will make the season a little bit interesting.Again,the variety to creat a superstar,a manager,stable,taunt makes the game very interactive to the extent that i just can'nt help creating all the creatables in the game.I will also like it better if there is realistic blood gushing from the fighters after the have been smashed with a weapon expecially in anywhere fall TLC or any fight that involves the use of weapons.It is my second best comback game after mortal kombact!!

Hi my name is Hector is already to 2005 i have played this game back in the day and i tell you having to play this game has been a blast especially when you get to unlock unknowns like unknown A Unknown B unknown C Unknown D Unknown E Unknown F Unknown G Unknown H Unknown I unknown j Unknown k Unknown L Unknown M Unknown N Unknown O unknown P etc i need help creating them because i really like creating and also mixing it up by customing my own matches like hell in a cell, Casketmatch, TLC MATCH , SINGLES MATCH, Handicap match, Hardcore, Anywere falls, etc. i tell all the people that are reading this to give up your games that you have now they may cost a lot of money later making the matches with the create-a-Superstar Undertaker and Mankind is really cool making tag matches with the Unknows like Unknown A (ric flair) is tight! and Unknown H ( big poppa pump) is cool my favorite unknowns are unknown A Unknown D unknown G , well mostly all of them especially when i first started playing and say them coming out it surpriced me because i thought they were wrestelers from the wwf put then i found out i had to create them right now i need help organizing matches with them and the original characters like the rock with the sunglasses and Stone cold with the hat you get in year six is cool the good thing would have been if it had the blood bath or the first blood match pu the game is nice any advice or comments on this game i can help out and give you the parts of the unknowns call at my hotline xxxxx i can give you cool ideas of how to make your matches cool and customize them with your created characters please notify me about upcoming tHINGS ON THIS GAME BECAUSE I HEARD THEIR IS A BURY ALIFE MATCH MAYBE YEAR 99 OR 100

hi my name is hector i played this game and is awsome smackdown to i played back in 1999 and since then i lost contact with it now back in 2005 i tried playing it again and the game is still awsome specially creating the unknowns and customizing my own matches with them one of my favorite unknown are a d g h p q w i tried making them double to kinda make the game interesting like make double unknown p against stonecold steve austin hardcore or just handicap and also for the payperview i made matches with unknown t that he's actually boxer put it in a ironman match or i play with him in a slobberknocker it makes the game tight now also creating underaker and customizing it made the game also interesting bringing back legends like hawk and road animal also sting and creating goldust is tight something that gets me is that i heard from a friend that at the end of the season year100 or99 their may be match called the bury alife match and i was thinking that if anyone anyone at all nows about this to contact me at hecred1983< remove me > at yahoo.com and let me now thanks.

a definite must for all u wrestling fans out there(and non wrestling fans too).even though the graphics is not so good (but then the game is pretty old)the game is highly enjoyable.sound effects are not that good but what the heck!u can create ur own cool wrestlers.experimenting with them is fun.other features include cool matches like TLC ,hardcore,casket etc.the season mode is a little boring because there is nothing to do except skip matches.the controls are damn easy and believe me the videos are real eye openers especially jackie's.
u also get to visit the old times when the dx existed and when stone cold was there.
there are a few drawbacks(come on every game has some drawback!)it can get a little frustrating at times but its a fun game to play both on the pc and the ps.i have played other wrestling oriented games and only in terms of technicality (like graphics ,sound etc) they may be better; but sd2 is my first love. in fact it is one of the 1st games i have ever played. and 4 those of u who have not, well TRY IT.

Smackdown 2 is the best wrestling game ever made dispite the almost endless season and terrible loading screens. I've played all of the other Smackdown games but i was disapointed with all of them. They seem to slow and there create a character modes don't seem to give the same kind of creativity like in Smackdown 2. I've played the game many hours with my friends mostly playing in the iron man testing our created characters against each other. I only wish the next smack down game was as fast as this one.

If you have played smackdown 2 you know what I mean. Any time you want to go somewhere on this game you have to let it load for about 10 seconds just to look at the rankings or title history. That may not seem like long but if you play long the time adds up. Another thing that sucks in this game is when your in royal rumble matches every time someone comes to the ring it frezes the screen and takes about 10 seconds to load. The same happens in Anywhere Fall, hardcore, and I Quit macthes. When you go to a new part in the arena you have let it load and you just sit there and wait. Another hoible thing in this game is the damage done to an opponet. You can beat them with a chair as much as you want but they get right back up. This also happens if you put them threw any table, hit them with any weapon(Including 100 pound ladders and 250 pound stares), hit them with a fork lift, and let them get hit by a car, BUT THEY STILL GET RIGHT BACK UP!!! But the worst part of this game is the season! When you skip a macth that you don't a crap about you still have to watch the the little screen that shows what happed. WHO CARES! This game takes to long to load, is very very unreal, and has a horrible season play.

When I got my copy of WWF Smackdown 2: Know Your Role, my expectations were high. This game is leaps and bounds beyond the original game. Create a Wrestler is much more in depth, the story lines actually make sense, and there are several more matches to choose from. One problem some people are having with this game is that when they create a wrestler and start a season, they aren't being incorporated into the storylines, and aren't getting many matches. Here's a hint folks, read page 26 of your game's instruction book. There you will find out how to get your wrestler into the ranking system for a particular belt, thereby giving you many, many more matches in the season.
The solid gameplay, diverse matches, expansive roster, and the create a wrestler feature are all very strong points to this game. Like all games however, there is always room for improvement. The biggest problem with this game is the loading time. I think though, that when this game is played on a Playstation 2 that the load time problem will cease to exist. One other minor fault with this game is the absence of our beloved announcers, Jerry "The King" Lawler, and good ol' Jim Ross.
In my book, this game is a must-have, despite its flaws. THQ did a great job with this game, and if they improve as much on their next wrestling game, watch out...we might end up with a game that bloodies your nose.

I rather enjoyed the game as there wasnt very often that i got beat at it. I found stone cold and the rock to be the two best to fight with and the undertaker was also pretty good. The graphics are a bit better then those in the first wwf smackdown but i would still rather play the first one more than the second.

It would of been better if it had some more kinds of matches like first blood,last man standing,tag team tlc matches,and tag team battle royal's.And a very old match like tag team matches with dumpster rules.Then the game would'nt be so boring.I hope any no WWF games won't be so boring.The only game that was good was WWF No mercy for n64 it had more options.And you could make more people.And have more of a Wardrobe and when you have a enjured arm or leg or etc,you really show it.And you have a real manger at yuor side or tag partner.But back to smackdown2 I think when they make the next game they should make it more realistic.Thats what I think.

It Is Simply The Best Wrestling Game Ever! The way the game was made was brilliant, i mean, you can make up to ten of your own players with any accessories you may think of, the graphics are also very relistic, (for a playstation) and you can go all over different areas besides just the ring which is quite the original idea, i also thing it is cool how you can bring old legends back to life by using the body parts you can unlock in season mode along with any other item or character you can unlock. I play this game quite often with my friends and it is just as if not more exciting than the time before, because it seems as if you can do something new every time

The only problem is it takes too long to load. Its really cool because it features all types of matchs like "hell in a cell","tlc" and "ladder match".The story mode kicks ass and it has better charecter entrences than the orginal Smackdown.This is a big improvement over Smackdown 1 so buy it.

I am someone who brought Know Your Role through the fact that I am a big wrestling fan and that I feel THQ have done a great job with Smackdown 1. People may say that Smackdown 2 is just an updated version of Smackdown but I feel that through all the improvements it is a much better game. I feel the large selection of superstars makes this game fun (I am a bit dissapointed by the none appearence of the Big Show). The Exibition Mode is far better with a larger selection of matches and the fact that you can have title matches makes it more exciting. I feel that Season Mode was improved by the fact that there are many more matches and many more shows for the die-hard fan but the Rankings system has not been improved from Smackdown. I find Create Mode is fantastically fun with the exception of the minority of detail in the Create-A-Superstar Appearence Mode. The main point that makes me rate this game 8 instead of 9 or 10 is the loading time. I accept the fact that the game has a lot of detail in it and that causes it to take longer to load and occaisionally stall, but I find that saving frequently helps by when the game stalls you don't lose all your hard work in this long, fantastically storied Season Mode. All in all I would by the Platinum Version if I hadn't already got the original. So by the game if you like the sound of it.

this game is really good cause it does not deal with health of wrestlers. also we can give secial moves.the rock says u have to be crazy not to like this. the rock rates this game as 8 instead of 9 or 10 cause of the loading time taken in royal rumble. also there are a few flaws. like we cannot pin our opponent on the cage in hell-in-a-cell match and in tag team table match we only have to eliminate 1 opponent when it should be both. we should be able to select the wrestlers we want in royal rumble and KOR. STILL IT IS GOOD

The matches could be a lot harder i used 1 special and i knocked undertaker out and my special strength was 3 bars. The graphics could be a lot better, they are hardly good. There could be a bigger selection of matches. The cut scenes in a season are a big waste of time. I dont have a challenge in TLC and ladder matches the computers dont even use a strong move before climbing the ladder so i get up, climb the turnbuckle and whup the computers ass. I cant do a 3-D through a table, the table just moves away. I put a lot of effort into making a charachter that looked like me an the closest i could get looked nothing like me! the moves could have been a lot more realistic, when you do a stone cold stunner you would'nt bounce halfway across the ring. And when you have been specialed or missile dropkicked in the face you would definately not get straight back up!the loading takes way to long. And what happend to undertakers real music, i hate the crappy music he shouldnt have rollin is way better. And what happend to the blood. And you cant hit someone in mid air and they fall over.

I would have given it a 10 if it had not been for two things... In season mode you have to sit and wait while it determines who wins or loses. They have a health bar under the picture of the wrestler. It's not like Smackdown 1 where it just shows winner and loser. Also the loading times and the pictures they show while it's loading. You get really sick looking at the same pictures over and over again. Other than that, it's great. I highly recommend it for anyone who likes wrestling games. For graphics I give it a 8. Sound = 5. That music gets really annoying after a while. Gameplay = 9. Fun = 10.

Smackdown 2 is so cool that I can never stop playing it! If you ask me,I would highly recommend this game espacially for teenagers.I love everything in the game except that there are not enough kinds of matches. I still love it though!The moves are very easy to use! Just by pressing L1, you can do the finishing move very quickly.And the create a wrestler mode is pretty awesome!

This is a fairy bad game, nowhere near the graphics as Just Bring It. I am a huge WWE fan but i still dthink this game could be improved much. Just Bring It's Graphics is so much better and it's speed is way slower Smackdown2 speed is rediculous they get up pretty much just after u knock them down.

i think smackdown 2 is one of the best wrestling games on theplaystation. they could of included a cast match (dont confuse
that with casket) or a over the top off with the top. the season mode gets kinda boring after a while, if u could be in all the matches that would be better. I think the makers were trying to get a sequel out to quickly they should have taken more attention to detail, about the characters personality, eg. the rock wouldnt say the match brought out the best best in me he would say somthing along the lines of "he needs to train better to face me in the ring" otherwise a great game.

Smack Down 2is by far the best wrestling game to hit the playstation by far (with the possible eception of Vanda vs PEN15). Well smack Down 2 has all the thrills and spills of TLC matches and hell in the cell matches. If this is nt enough for all you wrestling fans there is the possibility of having over 50 wrestlers from your favourite Vince Mc Mahon to the most hated Scotty 2 Hotty. In the words of a great philosopher "I pity the fool"who wont buy this great game from the makers of "Pen15 Vs Carlin" and "Vanda vs PEN15" so you know its good.
