Kick ass! |
| Dave Gould from ENGLAND, Derbyshir, Peak Dale says (3/Oct/2003): |
I dont care what any one else says, because this game could be one of the best games that I have ever played on {excluding Goldeneye 64 which IS the best game ever). The graphics are not 100% but the game play, sound and controls are awsome. The only fault that I can find in this game is the crashes which could be concidered cool, especially with super crash mode on, but to me the characters bounce and twist to much and look like he should be in a wheelchair for a bit.

It's a good game to play if you enjoy playing games without cheating. |
| A gamer from South Africa says (27/Aug/2003): |
Its a pretty cool game but it can take alot of time to finish. The graphics are good but the game is annoying sometimes and if your not into BMX then the game can get boring quickly. Professional playstation gamers would have no trouble finishing this game. In the end, its a cool game.
|
It was Good, but not Great! |
| Jake Flake from Vancouver, Washington says (16/Aug/2003): |
It is a good game but i agree with what some people say about the "reality" of the game. It's also pretty easy to beat, you just have to land every trick with a grind to get a minimum of 5 grand in points. Still the game is quite fun!
|
even tho its for the ps1 its still a good one |
| James from usa says (22/Feb/2003): |
ive been playing dave mirra freestyle off and on for about 4 weeks then found codes enterd these and finaly beat the game so other then that i think its a good choice. and i think it should be a players choice ive played dave mirra 2 for the ps2 and i go back the dave free style sometimes old school is best lol.

Awesome!! |
| Wes from Texas, United States says (20/Feb/2003): |
This is one of the best games I own, and hey, James Naylor or whatever your name is, I sugest you learn how to spell Mat Hoffmans name before you use him to diss Dave Mirra. Dave Mirra Freestyle games is an awesome game. It has nice levels and has really kick ass tricks man!!! I give this 10 on the tricks, 9 on the levels, and 9.5 on the riders and their graphics. The movies are also cool so I think you need to shove it up your ass about how this game stinks, James!!!!!!!!!!
|
Cool |
| nick from Cornwall, England says (22/Jan/2002): |
The guy who gave it one star (James Naylor) is a nob. Mat hoffman is so fake and unrealistic, the levels are tiny and its just an arcade game. Dave mirras is damn good and so fun to play, it makes you feel as though you are actualy there riding the bike, yop game
|
It wreaks like poop! |
| James Naylor from Stafford says (26/Oct/2001): |
Dave Mirras BMX is total crap the graphics are slow and ther is hardly any texture and proper detail.
Matt Hoffmans is better in every way it has the best graphics 10x as quick gameplay and you actually have to try to land tricks. Lets face it a 2 year old could play Dave Mirra.
OK Dave Mirra may have more tricks, but whats the point of having more tricks if theres no effort in landing them?
Move over Dave and meet Matt!!!!!
|
This game is awesome! |
| Steve from Downers Grove, USA says (27/Aug/2001): |
This game kicks. It has better tricks and stunts than Matt Hoffman's Pro BMX. This by far is the best BMX game I have ever played. The music is awesome! The sound effects are just like the ones in real life. And the graphics are some of the best that I've seen.

The BMX King |
| Matt Boyd from Orangeville, Canada says (15/Aug/2001): |
I'll admit that there are better games out there but not for BMX style. This game boasts fairly easy controls with a variety of good parks this game seems pretty good. One major thing that could of improved was that you couldn't create a player. The best thing was the crazy multiplayer with so many different things to do. The graphics were alright as well. It was nice to have the trick list on the start menu so you could go back to se what trick you wanted to do. The soundtrack was alright. Overall this game is definatley worth buying if youre into BMX games.
|
It Rules! |
| a good gamer from pro bmx says (6/Aug/2001): |
Everyone who says this game stinks and Mat Hofmans Pro BMX is better is wrong. This has more tricks, better sound, better graphics and better gameplay than Mat Hoffmans Pro BMX.Also theres more than 10 2-player modes.Matt hoffmans dosent even have 6 2-player modes! And plus this has more levels. And the levels are better. So play this game or play that peice of crap Mat Hoffmans.
|
It stinks!!! |
| Jerron from LA, California USA says (22/Jul/2001): |
Im just glad that i have tony hawks pro skater 2 because thats alot better and it has a demo of Matt Hoffmans pro bmx which is a heck of alot better than dave mirras freestyle bmx. Besides i agree with Jay about the 180 foot grind. I mean come on in the first levle? get real.
|
simply brilliant |
| lee from devon, england says (20/Jan/2001): |
lets face it, with this game you either love it or hate and and i have to say i love it it has everything- lots of levels, lots of riders to do them with, lots of tricks and to liven the game up you can unlock comical cheats i.e sticky crash mode or excorsist mode. poeple who moan about the hardness surely shouldnt have a playstsation, okay the 60 meter grind on the first level is rediculous but they obviously havent thought of unloking better bikes and going back to it later. it is basically just a brilliant game and beats tony hawk by far especially 2 player mode where you have so many game types including big, air, wipeout how can you get bored?
|
Better than Tony Hawk? Read the bottom. |
| Andy Malone from Someplave says (2/Jan/2001): |
Graphics and a smooth 3D engine make this game a must have. Those aren't the only things in this game that make it shine. The perfect mixture of punk and hard rock on the soundtrack adds beautifully to the 360 tailwhippin' that im sure everyone is doing. This game will last for a long time, trying to unlock things with different bikers. At times its a touch on the easy side and at others the very difficult. (mainly the competitions.)
Overall, great game. Big up to Acclaim here who made up for the creation of WWF Attitude. (I actually spent money on that game).
Better than Tony Hawk? Well, lets just say, my skateboard is in my closet and my newly purchased bike lies next to me in bed. (Not really, but u get the gist). I enjoyed this one throughly and rate it in the top 3 of any game made for any system.

It's an OK game |
| SilentWurm from Camarillo, USA says (27/Dec/2000): |
Well, I got this game because I liked Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. When I got it, I played for a long time. I got many bikes, outfits, and new tracks. the controls were very easy to remember, kinda like THPS. But on each character, I got stuck on the pro tournament levels, and the first one at that. It's IMPOSSIBLE to please the judges! They keep ranking me at 2nd place or lower. In about 1 month of playing, I still can't get past the 1st pro tournament level.

This game Rocks |
| Lil D from Albany, NY USA says (18/Dec/2000): |
Man I dont know what people are crying about, this game rocks, I have been playing it for the last 3 weeks non-stop! I finished all the boards with every guy including the Amish Boy! I dont think this game is too hard at all, I can finish a pro-quest in just over an hour. I know I am a loser Too bad they didn't add flat land, or a new challenge for completing the game. Back to the drawing board hey guys! Props on the code, I have been to Woodward, and it looks pretty darn close! Nice blood stains! PEACE D
|
Damn good stuff |
| the daver from the burg, fl says (10/Nov/2000): |
This game is raw! I don't know what this guy Jay is whining about, how could a video game make you quit riding? The hardness of the game is what makes it so fun. With games like Tony Hawk, where you pull off impossible stunts with the greatest of ease are lame, not downing Tony Hawk or anything, but when you can beat 5 boards in one sitting its kinda ridiculous. gotta give props for this one. keep em coming.
|
The Fun Keeps Going! |
| Garrett from California, USA says (27/Sep/2000): |
Dave Mirra's Freestyle BMX. You dont have to a "Avid Bmx Rider" to enjoy this game. It has all the parts that a great game should have, Good Music, Good Graphics, and certain ease of game play, and of course Unlimited Tricks! This is the Tony Hawk Of BMX. There is always a differnt line or a different trick you can pull off the Sick Jumps! The Grinds are Insane and with the help of the little level meter you can grind forever! This is a game that you will never get sick of!
|
to hard to beat |
| jay from cummington mass,usa says (25/Sep/2000): |
This game is so ridiculously hard. It's bull. A bmx game should be fun like tony hawk was. You guys really messed up good. What a waste of forty bucks. Its not even worth my effort. Example - in the first level grind 180 feet. Come on seriously! 180 feet in the first level out of 12!! Guys as a bmxer myself I have stopped bmxing because of this game. Thanks a lot dave mirra. I am a bum now I just sit around wishing your game was cool big build up owww yaa there's a bmx game coming out ohhh ya it sucks.

Freestyling review |
| Micheal WARD from Lake View Terrace, California says (25/Sep/2000): |
First of all the game has easy controls to master. It took me about 10 min. to get a hang of the game. There are twelve levels and several characters to choose from with their own specials and differences. Graphics are like any other psx game. Many different tricks to do. Including Bunny hop Can can and others I can't think of any right now. Also different places to do them. Like Vert and Street. There are different kinds of modes to do. One of them is Freestyle - no time no nothing just do what u want to make u better. I have the game but I've played it for 30 minutes a day cause of HOMEWORK. OK e-mail me if you got any questions or you know some other tight things about the game.
