I own Driver 2. I thought that the graphics were a little disapointing but all and all the game is a good one. However it is not for those who don't like a challenge I myself am a crafty vetern at video games. This is by far one of the more Challenging games I have ever played it ranks right up there with Kid Chameleon for the Sega Genesis. For those of you that have played the game know what I mean. But once you get the hang of this one it is a breeze to get though there are some tuff spots in vegas but other than that it is defantly better than most games. I took all of about two weeks to defeat. Just remember to have fun with the game cause after all it is only a game.

Driver 2 is a cool chase, getaway game. Should have given more option and faster cars but enjouyable none the less. I am stuck at the Boat jump seen should I jump of the boat or take the exit as I made the entrance. Somebody mail me and give me a hint PLEASE. dteugene< remove me > at yahoo.co.uk
I feel that the AI is a little to much in surtain stages of the game and the chases are a little unfair because the computer has the abillity to out run you and beats you with sudded acceleration. The story in this game is ultra cool and I think that vascis is acctually Jones your partner, but I have to finnish the gameto find out. If anybody think this game suck you have to read your mind. I think this is much better than your average car game.
The actual seens where this game takes place is devised in a cool manner. Taking shortcuts eliminates the long drives and also gives you extra time (Seconds added to the time) I say this game is a must buy for anybody who enjoys chase and getaway games. But watch tose tempers flying and please to avoid any animosity between your parents, girlfriends and wives watch your language.

Driver 2 is a lot better than the first one because the graphics
music game play and story gets you in the mood to sit down and play for hours. The main reason its better is because you can get
out the car and steel other peoples cars. Its hard like the first one so i say a good age level would be starting from 13 to 18 and over.

i like this game because is very cool the system of playing a mission in a car but what a i dont realy like at all its the disgusting grephics, another thing i dont like its that they have only a few cars. BUT there a lot of things good in this game like you can burn out tires, 360 turns, steeling cars, secret car that you have to unlock, or secret areas (that you have to unlock), another thing that i like is that you dont have only one system of playing this games in a mission mode, there are a lot an very originals because i have never seen it before in my whole life, the sound of this game is not surprising but is not disgusting it is normal. oh another thing that i dont like is that you cant run over people .in a conclusion its a good, orginal game but with disgusting graphics its all i can say. buy it ignoring there praphics

yes! there finally making a sequel to my favorite game driver! tha's what i was thinking when i found out about it. i new about geting out of your car and taking someone elses, and the multi player modei thougt it was going to bow driver 1 away. i also thougt that the cops migh try to pull you over once and a while, instead of slaming you into a wall for speeding throug a red light.
and then i got the game, where to start, the cops are alot tougher and will wreck your car for breathing croked, the graphics are even worse in multi player mode you can't get out of your car,you're confined to only sections of a level,and you're in "inside car" veiw only. that's only the first of it every now and then you will fal thruogh the road, it will freez up,you will drownd for no aparent reason,or the game will go into automatic slow-motion mode. and now for the main screw ups in the making of this game,
-drowning in ankle-deep water
-annoying car engines(they sound like vacume cleaners)
-cars trying to shove you off the road because they need to change lanes
-cars honking repeatedly and anoyingly at you, even when you stop at a red ligt(if you ram into them you get caught,run a red you get caugt, it drives me insane.
well that was the bad part (if i missed anything please contact me) for the good part, you can get out of your car, and ther is a multi player mode( even if it sucks,)there are more reasons not to buy this game than there are good reasons to, just take a test drive(rent it) before buying it to see if you like it. --thanks for your time.

Great game that could hold your attention, if you actually take the time to admire the beauty of the game. The devastating crashes, the police having no consideration for the civilian drivers, car chases, e.t.c. Carjacking is the best feature of this game. It's kinda like a 3D Grand Theft Auto, minus the weapons and cussing pedestrians. Engine sounds are somewhat realistic, with some cars that sound like a Ford Festiva, But that's a pointless observation nobody else would care about.
The pedestrian vehicles do stop when you get right in front of them, but not when you blare your horn during a chase. They just sit there like they're braindead or something.
The different languages of the police are a nice touch, too. Some cars are just plain abyssmal, but they sound good.
THIS IS TO ANYONE WHO SAYS DRIVER 2 BITES:
Actually PLAY the game through before judging it, okay?

The original Driver was fantastic. So when I found out that a sequel was coming out I bought it without even renting it first. Now I'm so mad at myself for doing that.
Sure, you can get out of the car. Sure, you can hijack other vehicles. But there isn't enough vehicles to steal. When I bought this game I thought you could drive cars like the pedestrian vehicles in Driver 1. Like a station wagon or one of those 2 door vinal topped saloons or even one of those Pinto like things for laughs. Plus, It's still impossible to run over pedestrians. They all look the same and they even run away from you when you're on foot.
The Missions are frustrating due to the crappy physics of the game. Ecspecialy in the Havana mission where you have to catch that Damn truck. As soon as it starts the truck (Which is the slowest vehicle in the city) takes off like a bat out of hell and you're car (which is one of the fastest cars in the city) begins to sluggishly accelerate like a snail on ritalin, all the while the hideous grey escort car is ponding the hell out of you with cheap shots from the rear.
In short, this game sucks. The original Driver is much better.

This game is wicked! Before i got Driver 2, i was stuck with the oringinal Driver...But then came Driver 2! As soon as i drove a car i thoght : wow! Better graphics, better cars, a better game! I love this game because it has such a neat story line. alough there is one down fall - The Rio levels are just too hard! But that fact isn't enough to take away even one of the ten stars i've given the best game in the world!

is game is ok but its nothing like gta. it got the worest graphics and the cars are not realistic. i had driver 1 and it had better graphics and ilikes it more. lets see what they will come up with driver 3 on ps2. any way i dont prefer buying this game because its worth 5$ to me so you dicide.

It is not a bad game and some of the missions are fun. It has good graphics,o.k. sound,and the life span is a little low but all in all not bad. I have never played the first driver so I am comparing it to all of the gta games so it is pretty original and to two player games are awsome. the only real bad thing is your always timed and you can't just run around stealing cars if you want to commplete the mission. that is the only resson I don't like it. I probably would pay at least 10 bucks for it. the scret ware house levels fun.

its a very ok game it kinda blows like tha graphics and stuff but all in all it shows promise and it really needs graphic improvment and better cars and more boards and more interactive outside of car playing i think you should be able to go into some buildings and choose from a few different characters accept tanner hes cool and all but it needs better characters

The game is ok, but somethings I just couldn't let go. I live in Rio de Janeiro, and ok, the game designers sure gave importance to reality. The district names are real, as much as the locations; the designers gave special atention to places as much as touristic sights troughtout the city (and Rio has too many, such as the "Arcos da Lapa", the Cathedral, the "Petrobras" building close to it, the Copacabana Beach unique sidewalk, the Monunment to the deads in WW2 in flamengo, as they really are! Even the trash cans are orange like that!). But the buildings, in general, are not old and ugly as appear in the game, as much as the cars!!! What about the video that Tanner and Jones talk on the shore? The streets are not dirty like that! And also, i heard the cenario has a hidden beach with monkeys over the palmtrees!?! Thats simply ridiculous! Rio is a wonderfull city, and has no monkeys or snakes crawling over the streets! The cars are new, the building are fine, and specially the women are great!! (women is missed in Driver 2, also) :P

Driver 2 was alright. The graphics could have been a lot better. The graphics in Driver were better than the ones in Driver 2. I thought that when a new game came out the graphics were supposed to be better than the one before. When you are going under something like a road or a bridge, you can see little lines and cracks in whatever you are going under. Also, some of the missions are really hard to beat. You figure they should be pretty hard but really, driving after a guy on a two- way road that is as big as a one-way road. That's just rediculous! I have been stuck on that level for a year now. Give me a break. Other than all of that, it was a pretty okay game. I hear that they are coming out with DRIV3R (Driver 2). If I were you, I would wait until that one comes out in June. Don't waste your money on Driver 2.

Driver 2 was a game that i just decided to buy one night at wal*mart. it was cheap so i thaught what the heck. I started playing and instantly was glued to the game, i could not stop playing it. good graphics for a ps1 and awsome story line. in the final mission you get to chase someone who is in a helicopter. i beat the game. true i found some hard parts, like a few missions but nothing i could not handle. the game lets you use good cheat codes. it has lots and i mean lots and lots of awsome things. read some of the other great reviews to see what i mean. you can find hidden cars and hidden cheats and stuff. something that made me laugh was that one time in rio i was driving up a hill on a free way and suddenly a car flies out of the car and had a flamming wreck!!!!!!! i could not stop laughing!!!!!

this is the best driving game I ever played.the graphics are not to good.but the sounds are good.i like it because it is a fast game of chasing or running. the story of the game is good.I like the way the cars twist and turn.and the "take a drive" mode is the best.I like the misson in which we have to follow the Train.Its better than GTA.Its missions are not to just steal cars or kill people.Its on top of all that things.smashing the police cars is the best part.

This game is ok its no GTA vice city but it is something for your fingers to toy with over the weekend. The graphics suck, sound is alright.For those of you looking to buy this game here is a Sum up you are a hitmen and your job is basiclly to follow cars, ram cars, steal cars, and kill people. This is a 2 disc setup and is very very hard thought me and my friend had gotten to the second disc the CD was scratched to death so I don't really know what is on the second disc. For the most part I hated it.B ut my friend thought it was hot stuff so I went with the flow and stuck to it. Overall I think the game sucks but other people might like it.

I agree, the graphics suck big time, It`s a very challenging game, but I can`t play it for more than 10 minutes, I`m now at "chase the gunman", the mission before that one was an epic triumph for me to do it, chase the gunman is simply impossible, I always fall into the sea and I hate when the so-called gunman hits another car and simply blows them away!!! and when I crash into another one I get stuck, completly stopped by it. Also if you could level the hardness of the game, would be alight, not even with cheats I can complete these mission, Does anyone of you have an advice for me? It would be very helpful. My pride incites me to beat that game, although is one, if not the hardest game I have ever played. I really love that you can drive in an actual city, also that you can destroy your car, get in wrong lanes, steal a bus, drive in parks, the jumps in boats and into the ferry was awesome!!! I swear that I won´t break my PS in a mad anger attack.
Definetly a game for those blokes that would like to be geezers, and also very useful game if you want to learn to escape from the policeman, it actually has taught me a little maneuvers that can be applied in real life!!!

I don't know why you are all whining about the Havannah mission being so hard, it just takes a little time. You have to find the quickest best ways to get the 4 cars. I took me like 9 or 10 tries but i just kept trying and finally caught and smashed the 4th car. I was really excited when i did it. Being able to get out and get into a different car is really cool. It gives you a whole new life. My advice for people struggling through this game is just take your time. I am now in Las Vegas and it just as hard as Havannah I think. I gave this game an 8 becuase it is fun and difficult. Its more fun when a game is difficult then when you just breeze through it and don't have to think. This game takes a little thinking and patience. Overall, it's a really cool game though.

Right....Driver 2, a good game, good storyline, good car, fatal flaws.
Driver 2 has improved on the whole to the original Driver game but also has let its fans down by the new setup. The original Driver was a good driving game(except you couldnt change cars) and was excellent with the idea that you could chose how the game went by picking the mission by the answerphone message.
That is where i believe Driver 2 is a letdown, even though the storyline is better,the videos are better,and the game is better.
The changing car thing makes the game alot more playable as well. Even though the game takes up 2 discs on the ps1 it is still to short. I completed the game in under 3 hours on hard.
Does anyone know about Driver 3 as GTA 3d looks to be similar to the plans??
