Driver 2 is one of the best games I have ever played. It is much better than the orginal Driver as the cities are far better and so are the cars. There are alot more cars much better graphics.
The sound is really good. You can hear all of the sound effects from the cars. The life span is great. I bought the game at Christmas last year and I am still playing it now ! ! The game is also aviable on Platinum now for only £9.99 WELL WORTH IT!!!

I thought orginal game of Driver was better than Driver 2. The graphic is horrible. There were too few cars to be stolen or driven. The sound is better than the graphics. It is really fun to take a ride in all the cities. Although you get really bored after playing 10 minutes.I need help with the "Chase The Gunman" Someone please help me beat this level.

It is very fun and you get to steal other peoples cars. It is also good because you can go in real locations. You can also walk you don't always have to drive and you can completely wreck police cars. You can go completely mad and smash into cars. The quests are hard but still fun. I think that it is a brilliant game!!!

I liked this game because you can hijack cars and I have beat the game and when you beat the game you get all the cheats and all of the cars!I have played driver and i think it was a big improvement from driver some of the levels like the last level where you chase a helicopter is extremly hard. Keep your eye out for mysterious things in the city I will give you a hint of some in chicago go to the baseball arena go to the oppisite side of the entrance and press traingle on the ticket both something cool will happen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its nice but a bit boring .The 10th mission is toooooooo hard .The grafics are ok . The variety and quality of cars should be improved .It would be better if you had a gun and that you could kill the police and other people . The car drivers are so pathethic and stupid.

Nothing but the most difficult level. Just like the Mexican guy said, i simply can't pass this level too. I'd like an advice. Any help I think will be useful. Please contact me.
On the other hand, all this level has of dificulty, the game has of interesting and make us keep hours in front of it.

Here is part of what the Mexican guy siad: "I agree, the graphics suck big time, It`s a very challenging game, but I can`t play it for more than 10 minutes, I`m now at "chase the gunman", the mission before that one was an epic triumph for me to do it, chase the gunman is simply impossible, I always fall into the sea and I hate when the so-called gunman hits another car and simply blows them away!!! and when I crash into another one I get stuck, completly stopped by it. Also if you could level the hardness of the game, would be alight, not even with cheats I can complete these mission..."

I liked this game because you hijack cars the storyline is cool I liked it when you beat the game it gives you all the cheats!
Warning! the game is pretty hard i am a master driver1 it took me about 3 weeks to beat the game but that last level where you chase the helicopter is so hard.
I give this game a 100% rating because it rules
I think that Rio has the hardest levels then Havana,Las Vegas,Chicago if you have a hard time on Chicago you probaly won't even beat the game.
I can't give any cheats but I'll give you a hint there are secret cars in each city except Rio look for mysterious stuff on the maps!

Driver 2 is an extensive sequel to the original which was a great game with an original feel.. Driver 2 appears to have been made with the gamers input used to create the ultimate undercover infiltration into the criminal world car game.
The games graphics are similar in creation to the original driver, although they have decided to add more realistic roadways, including tunnels, long bends and overpasses along with wharfs and ferrys, giving the game a more chaotic feel when trying to escape the cops..
The sound i feel could be better, with maybe some alternate music for each vehicle or area...
On the subject of vehicles, the creators have taken into account the request for being able to use other vehicles, on certain levels of the game you have a choice of two vehicles, and during any mission you may exit the vehicle you are in and car jack another, this is a bonus for the gamer as you can smash the car as much as you want and then just car jack another with no damage. The cops in Driver 2 dont appear to be real smart as they are extremely easy to lose and dont set up too many road blocks... again, car jacking a new undamaged vehicle also decreases your felony meter...
The game doesnt pose much difficulty for the hard core Driver, less experienced players of the original may find it difficult in some levels but overall i found it to be quite easy to complete each mission.
The game has a quick feel with many missions being broken down into several parts... instead of getting from one point to another and completing the task set down at that point it is broken down to... get from a to b, next mission, complete mission at point b. this is a great fix to the originals method of completion, making the game a more playable and fun game.
All the original commands have been retained apart from the rear view to see where the cops are, this is one attribute i wish they had kept, as i feel checking the cops position to set them up for a smash was an extremely fun part of the original driver... i am just glad that the circle button still remains the burn out button.
Driver 2 being 2 discs, makes it worth the effort to purchase as you know for certain, its going to keep you busy for a while to come and give you many hours of enjoyable Driving fun.
Finally, there is no requirement to complete a test as in the original garage test, this makes the game a more playable game to the average driver who doesnt have much car game experience and doesnt like to be stuck on a level they can not complete.
Overall i rate the game as great, it has all the feeling of the original, there is not too many changes from the original, i feel its more so a next mission add-on than anything. If you are deciding wether or not to get Driver 2, i insist you do, you will not be disappointed if you liked the original.

All righty then, Driver 2 is THE BEST Driving game for the PSX(apart from Gran Turismo 1&2). I am disapointed by copying GTA 1&2's idea of getting out of your car and stealing others. But I still gave it a 10 out of 10 because the under-cover mode is so bloomin' 'ard that it took me 1 week to get through a level (the 'chase the intruder' one); I also gave it 10 out pf 10 because you've got 'Take A Ride' mode which gives old timers (who didn't by #1 two years ago) a place to practice on. So
GET THIS GAME NOW (or when it comes out for Australia and New Zealand).

When I bought Driver 2 it was because the origional Driver was such a fun new game with decent effects and a great theme: Driving Real Fast!! I was very disappointed in is as the sequel. It has a few different levels, and more than one car to choose from. The one great thing is that it is multiplayer, but in multiplayer mode, you are restricted to one view, whis is the worst of the three usual views. Another fun new part is the option to get out of your car and steal another. Basically Driver 2 is the same as Driver, but with all of the gameplay options that the original Driver should have had. The graphics are still a little choppy, and it feels like the cars are slower than before. The other cars on the road act a little more the way they should also.

Driver2 is the perfect sequel! I mean everything that could possibly be improved on the first game HAS indeed been improved.The developers deserve nothing but respect for what they've done with this game! Even if we forget the things like bigger cities, more vehicles and other "sequel-stuff" like that it is still evident that these guys went out of their way to supply the gamer with a game nothing short of excellent.Personally, I think the biggest improvement on the first game are the undercover missions themselves.Some of them are just so cool you really feel like a rubberburning bad-ass after completing them!!
A good example is the one where you have to beat a train to save a guy in the trunk of a car that is set a few miles down the railroadtrack.Or the one where you face certain death having to chase a gunman over a twisty mountain road breaking through the protective fence every now and then..... I mean, I'm writing this review after just having completed that one and I have to say that that chase was one of the biggest adrenaline rushes I personally ever experienced in a videogame!
EXCELLENT !!!
The only point of criticism I have is the fact that Driver2 DOES demonstrate the absolute limits of the 5 year old playstation.
There IS some slowdown now and then and the whole thing does have a "gritty" look. So maybe,just maybe, Reflections should have waited and put this game out on the awesome playstation 2..........

I thought the original was amazing, so I bought Driver 2 as soon as I could, but was really disapointed with what I got. I expected the one player (Undercover) to be basically the same as the first, with some minor mods, which it is, so the multiplayer was really appealing. It sucks. 2-player "Take a ride" is without any other cars or cops, so it gets boring in about2 minutes, and in all the modes there is only one view (in the car view) which normally I always use anyway, but in Driver its just not as fun when you can't see your near misses or damage or hubcaps rolling off on steep turns. It just takes away from it, but really, having no other cars completely ruins the multi mode. The rest of the game is really good, except that there is lots of slowdown on the Chicago level, and unforunately the game is not fully compatible with the PS2 if you want to use the smooth texture mapping (it often freezes, usually just as you are about to reach the goal of a level) altho for the most part it works, and it makes the game look a lot better.

Driver 2 is definately one of the best games i have ever played, but when i saw muktiplayer i was all excited, especially when i saw 2 player take a drive, but there isnt any cars! just you and the other player! no cops or anything, whats the point of that! also, you are restricted to 1 view, the one where you dont see the car. That is my least favorite. and one thing that has always been kind of annoying, the fact that you cant kill people. Its not that bad and i shouldnt complain, but that would be cool.

After having read some previews online,and learning all the new features..I WAS PUMPED !!!!! i immediately got a copy, and dove in...This is essentially a good review, although,as you may have guessed, i`ve got issues... here we go. The new features are pretty cool,especially jacking other people cars,and the locales are much improved over driver 1. The difficulty on some levels is pretty stiff,even for a hard-core driver such as myself.But i imagine the less dedicated will find it RIDICULOUS!! I was particularly dissapointed with the flatness of most levels..not enough stuff to get air off of..(one of my favorite things about the original).and the roaring squeal of your ride..were is it? the cars in this one sound like sewing machines!! Add in some minor slowdown,and too many seriously wimpy cars, and this game actually falls short of it`s predecessor in overall fun. (and thats what it`s all about)

Driver 2 is a lot better than Driver 1-in levels and cities plus the new options. The game is smoother and faster but if you play it on the PlayStation 2-you have a chance of it freezing on you, also the multiplayer smells like an old sock, no other cars to bash into or steal, and only one sight view(the one inside the car). So for people who want to play two player-forget this game,
other than that GET THIS GAME!!!!!

Great game overall, thoroughly enjoyed playing it, however did anyone notice a huge dufference between this and the first installment? Ok, when all said and done it probably is the finest driving game on the psx however is it worth another £40.00 of my hard earned wages? The graphics were excellent and as always the game has a huge lifespan due to its originality and 'fun factor' however it does have its limits. One feature I was eagerly anticipating was the 2 player mode, however found myself fairly dissapointed upon discovering that I was unable to change the camera angles of the game and had to make do with a dodgy, uncontrollable screen. Secondly, a great idea to be able to get out and steal another car, however there isnt exactly much choice when it comes to picking a new vehicle is there? In
my opinion the game is well worth a look however should you own the first title then I would suggest perhaps borrowing or renting it out first.

Driver 2 is a great game. The graphics are better, the gameplay is first class and the new ability to get out of the car is like GTA in 3D! There are two discs to plough through and there are secrets to unlock, but the Undercover mode is the main problem. Most of the missions are chase missions, or they have strict time limits. The overall game is good, but the 'pop-up' graphics haven't gone. A PS2 version would be better
