Just when I think it can't get any better...it does! Sweet! | | BenN from England (but holed up in Ghana) says (2/Jun/2004): | Didja catch the South Park referance? Anyway,I LOOOOOOOOVE this game. just when you think Spyro cant get any better, it does. How does Insomniac do it? How can they pack the most actionpacked game I have ever played on one small black disk? I thought it was pretty tough(it took me ages to beat the first boss, Buzz) but it made the game all the better. The graphics dwarf the last two games, the levels are so intricatly created you can get overwhelmed by there size and skateboarding, boxing, speedboating, submarining, swimming, skating, supercharging, flying(Sgt.Byrd), hopping(Shiela), whacking(Bently), blasting and bombing(Agent9) and spraying rockets, fire, bombs and bullets(Sparx)is just bloody brilliant. I have finally beaten the entire game, have 118% completion, defeated the sorceress twice(!), seen Bianca and Hunter kiss, yuck!, entered and finished the super bonus worlds, have all 128 dragon eggs, have found the last dragon egg(which happens to be ying-yang, who are twins) found all the skill points, opened all the levels and challenges, beaten the snowboard six and their time record by one second and seen all of the chracters epilouge! Phewww!
Graphics fantastic, sound excellent, crammed with gameplay, incredible chracters and bosses, brilliant levels, top challenges, perfect balance between easy and difficult, cracking mini-games and wicked vehicles.(My favorite is the mini-spaceship) The makings of a pure and perfect, allround solid, flipping brilliant platform game. Insomniac have created a game which all other games should be based. Spyro is the king of platformers, bar none!

It's more challanging, better graphics and much more. There are also new characters like st. bird, shela the kangaroo, Agent 9 and many more. The villan is more villanis than ripto and gnasty nork. In this game u will make new friends and new enamies. If u are not that good at spyro games just go to the prima walk through guilds (they helped me a lot) I'm sure that they will help u in any mess that u get in lol. Hunter is still your friend in this game and will help u get the dragon eggs back from the evil villan that is taking them. Also don't be frightened of any of the bosses because its just a game and its not like your going to die or any thing like that (well spyro will but not u) lol. The characters that u interact with are mostly friendly if they aren't really that friendly in the first place they will be at the end of that certain level ummmmmmmm ya. In most levels u can burn certain things that will give u some stuff and ummmmmm ya. over all this is a good game and u should play it now! if u don't have it to keep then rent it so u know what it is like then u should buy it. it is only about $28 now so its cheap and go to superstore to get it because thats a really good (cheap) place to buy plastation 2 and 1 games so ummmmm ummm ummmm ummmm ummmm ya just play the game and if u need help on any of the levels then go to the prima walk though guilds.

Unlike other playstation games such as resident evil and others the characters are exactly the same and you cant do nothing new in them. Where as in spyro you get to do all sorts of things new in every single game. For example in number one you just start with the basics which is going round finding crystalized dragons and freeing them and defeating the nasty gnorc or whatever his name was. Where as in number 2 You learn a new ability to swim BUT UNFORTUNATELY U MEET A PAIN IN THE ASS MR MONOPOLY MAN (the big fat rich guy). Where as in number three it has got a lot of new things such as the skate park, a few bonus worlds. Sparx even has his own little levels which keep everyone busy just after they think they have completed it. It ahs got another world which quite frankly I didnt expect until I got the hang of how to use that dictionary book thing in the game. Sure there are a few hard hard levels such as "Spooky swamp" which has had me going round and round in circles with piranga's and god knows what trying to find the last 4 gems which are NO WHERE IN SIGHT!!!!. I would highly recommend this game to anyone who has got some spare cash and wants to get some entertainment into life. I have however nearly completed the game. I have got 14888 gems and only 112 to go.. So not long now till that good old bonus level appears

why?
-best graphics (just see the enemies blowing transformed into fireworks)
-best sound (the voices are really expresive)
-best gameplay (four new characters: Sheila the kangaroo, Sgt byrd, Bentley the yeti, Agent 9 the monkey, plus bonus levels starring sparx!!!!with tons of powerups. Even Hunter makes aparition in some parts)Many people say the story is simple, and it is it, but it has a certain something that makes you wanting to know what is next.(I personally liked the introduction of Bianca to the game)Even some of the characters already known appear(The professor, Moneybags, etc)
But, be careful with the glitch of the speedways. If you get out of a speedway before getting the egg of the race, you will never get it!!!!!!!If you want to fix it:
-Contact SONY
-Begin a new game
-Buy the Sony's Greatest Hits edition(loading this game with the memory card which contains the "glitched" saved game. Play that part, and you should get the egg
-If you need to get out of the level, reset the playstation
-Or simply get all the eggs before leaving the level.
If you want to buy a game of Spyro, I recomend you this one. The only way you can hate this game, is by hating Spyro.
| best game in the world buy it !!!! | | A gamer from England, UK says (8/Aug/2002): | i really really love this game it is way cool there are loads of funky new levels and loads of new charactors ive completed it 117% but i still carry on playing it and killing the enemys and boss levels i think it is alot easier but that is good because the first two spyro games took me months to do but this one has only taken me a couple of weeks (about 3) it was my birthday and mum and dad decided to get me some baggie nirvana pants (as im a mosher) and instead of getting me pants i went in Cash Converters and got it for £19.99 my dad was abit annoyed but now even he s a fan of it (even my mums addicted to it ) were all spyro lovers my brothers fave thing to do is break my course record on enchanted towers (in midday gardens world ) ive done 18000 and hes done a whopping big 24,450 !!! we call him the games master and im the games mistress ! i would reccomend this game to anyone as its fun for all the family to kids to old people even those people who love games like medal of honour and the house of the dead and syphon filter try this game out youll never get bored flaming bad guys and trying to break your lil sisters or brothers course records ! 110-100, buy it !! or miss out from the little obsessed spyro lover karen :)
| A game for all ages | | Pete and Will from Newland, England says (11/Aug/2003): | My 5 year old son and I have just finished Year of the Dragon after a couple of weeks of intense addiction. He can manage 1/2 to 2/3 of the game, handing over for bosses and the occasional other difficult bit.
Some of the races took a fair bit of practise before being able to beat them, but there's no one bit that was extremely difficult (which is good). My son loves the other characters like Agent 9, James Byrd and Bentley the Yeti. My favorite bits are the skateboarding and races.
Graphics are good and the whole game is smooth. I can barely think of even a minor bug I spotted and considering the huge number of hours of gameplay, that's pretty impressive.
The poorest parts of this game are the animated sequences at the beginning and end - but who care about them anyway?
You can pick this up and play for hours or minutes very easily. Loading levels is reasonably quick and you can whizz through that dialogue that you've heard a dozen times before. For example, aborting a race you know you can't win and restarting it takes a couple of seconds unlike many other games.
We've just ordered Spyro 2 and we are both eagerly awaiting it's arrival.
| Spyro Rocks!This Game is so AWSOME! | | Valerie from Elkhart IN USA says (12/May/2004): | I love all the Spyro games, but so far,I think this one is the best!This game is so fun I couldn't miss it if I tride to!I stay up all night on week ends just playing this game!Its got free 3D roming animations,skatebording,challenge portals,thirty-six different realms,and six sweet critters to play as!That's why I think it rocks!I've not met anyone who dosen't like it!Spyro is really mighty for somethins so little!I've beaten it and restarted it at least twenty-seven times!No matter what new games I get, Spyro:Year of the Dragon will always be one of my favorites!And I useually have my cusins come over and play it with me after church on sundays.They're Spyro fans too.It's amazing how mutch fun you can have by playing Spyro!On a scale from one to ten,I give Spyro:Year of the Dragon an eleven!once I rented Spyro with my friend,right a way we knew we'de love it!And now I have all three Spyro games!I've gotten a lot of my friends into liking Spyro video games too.And I've never played a better video game than Spyro:Year of the Dragon!I hope they make more Spyro games like Spyro:Year of the Dragon!

There's absolutley no way Naughty Dog can top this, no matter how many Crash sequels they come out with. The storyline rocks. I don't care whoever else thinks otherwise, 'cause they must not be true blue (or should I say purple?) Spyro fans. The music is top-notch compared to any other PlayStation X games, and the graphics couldn't be any more seemless. And although I resent that they make Hunter look like a complete moron, I believe that the characters personalities are incredibly life-like. And I mean, who doesn't like skateboarding? The cute little love story is what keeps us all permanently hooked onto the game and asking, "I wonder if Hunter and Bianca are going to hit it off?" And we all kind of figure it out on the second -to-last movie when they make out under a sky blowing up with fireworks. And when this game ends, you want more Spyro. Beileve me, (I've completed this game to 120% about fifty times now) this game is worth the money. Boy, I will never get tired of that little dragon.

I enjoyed the graphics and I thought this was really well done. The game itself is generally quite easy to play. I find this game great fun to play and I enjoy the music. I dont usualy play things like spyro, I generally stick to things such as Tomb Raider and dino crisis, I enjoy spyro because the adventures vary and there is plenty of things to do such as skateboard, play other charactures,riding submarines, riding hunters manta ray and things like that. I enjoy watching the cut scenes. I am constantly playing spyro now and it drives others up the wall with me always going on about it. Unfortunatly I havent managed to complete the game yet and am still trying. I dunno about anyone else but I have found the between level monsters quite easy, although I had to practise a bit first. I have thoughurly enjoyed this game and I do hope that every one else enjoyed it as much as I have.
| "Spyro: Year of the Dragon" is an all-around great game! | | Laura Nelson from Hunington Beach, California says (3/Sep/2004): | "Spyro: Year of the Dragon" is a great game with a good plot, funny characters, and terrific graphics. Some of my favorite aspects of this game were the underwater/swimming graphics, the little goodies you get after defeating Sparx levels, and getting to see Hunter again! This game has little short movie things to tell you what goes on when characters meet, such as when Spyro first meets Bianca. The game has no bad language, and the characters have complex, seemingly real personalities. The game's only fault, in my opinion, is that the characters hands/feet often seem to be half submerged in the ground when they walk, move, jump, or charge.
Another great part of the game is that you get to play not only Spryo, but other characters, even Sparx! The game has it's challenges and easy things, which make the game fun to play all day long.

My poor demented dad never even gave it a chance :( It was probaly 2 hard when he tried the 1st one. I have beaten the master and have 122 eggs and going up! I love this game so much! I like all of the little mini games inside of the worlds, and that u have more than just spyro to play! If u r looking for a entertaining, fun relaxing game, that stills offer a little bit of challenge Spyro is the game for u! It has cool graphics and some kinda of fun catchy background music! I love it u start out with all of your abilities u get in the 2nd one! The lifespan in my opinoin is fair and u have plenty of opputunities to get lives. Also in my opinoin It is fairly original and the best out of the 3 for playstation! The 2nd is too hard and the 1st one was O.K. So if u r a gamer looking for a new game give this game a whirl I can almost fully gaurantee who-ever u r u will love this game!

Even though i havent finished this spyro game i can already tell that it is the best game out of all the Spyro games but this game is still not as good as Harry Poter and the Socerers Stone I think tha the graphics on this game are in the top 50 for play station and on this game the life span is great cos you can swim not like spyro 1 when if you jump in water you die. The sound on this game is great. something else i wanna say is that if you dont have this game you should buy as soon as you can get the chance and if you dont have a play station you should buy 1 then you can buy his game cos it is truley the best spyro game yet.

| The Best Spyro game ever!!!!! | | Danielle Liddiard from Staines,England says (2/Jan/2004): | Spyro 3 is one of the best games on PS1 and the best in the Spyro series!!Spyro 3 is set over 4 different worlds which together contain over 30 colourful and beautiful levels.The graphics in Spyro 3 are the best PS1 graphics can get.The sound are so virtual that it feels like you are there.Every level is packed with action and adventure taking Spyro to the next level.The game is longer than the first two put together and is three times harder.The best thing about this game is that now you can play up to 5 different characters including Sparx the dragonfly,Sheila the kangaroo,Sargent Bird the only flying penguin,Bently the snow monster and Agent 9 the space monkey.There are also tons of mini-games,challenges and Spyro even goes Tony Hawks style and goes skatboarding mad.Spyro 3 is the best platform/adventure game on PS1 that no other game can come close too.It's a challenging and fun game for all ages that no one can dislike.

The gameplay is good, the graphics are okay, and you gotta admit this game kicks butt even if you play it not wanting to like it. This game is one of the best i have played the entire time i've had a playstation. i particularly like the touch with Bentley and Agent 9 and the others, it adds an interesting element 2 the game. i have only had this game for a few days and i already like it a lot more than the first two games in this series, of which the second i liked a hell of a lot. Maybe this is alittle bit blustering and im waffling but i gotta make two hundred words or this wont be posted but i loved the skateboard park in Enchanted Towers. The Gnasty Gnorc move lands u two thousand five hundred points!!!!! yipes!!!!!!

NOW! you wont regret it....i deffinatley give it 10 stars and would give all of the other spyros 10 stars also...whoever came up with these games and the ideas deserve to be extremely rich! i think that everyone should have this game for sure! so if you dont have this game run out and buy a copy of it...you will diffinatley feel the same way i do about this game and wont be able to get enough of it!

In Y.O.T.D you can swim (unlike 1&2) and you can play as Sparks (Wow!) You can fly longer now useing the special power ups. The levels are funner , easy, but yet hard, & you actually have a different mission to do than just Rescuing big junky statues, now you rescue small junky eggs. That scorceress, oh she gets worse and worse. Unlike the 'Gnasty Gnorc' of 1 & 2. I'm on the last world now and seing Bianca turn good really amazed me! But now that The Sorceress wants to Clip the dragons wings, that just goes too far. She should go suck a lemon!oh, im talking about the other stuff, sorry now, Y/O.T.D. Is probably in the top 5, (Up there with SimthemePark and Sonic the hedgehog) My favorite part of the game is when the Ice Fairy gives you the power to breath ice, not fire(Cool)

Playing as Agent 9 IS TO COOL! Even when I played part of
Spyro 2, it just didn't seem as cool. Out of all the gameplay
the level "midnight mountain" is the coolest! I've completed
86% of the game, but i cannot get 149 eggs! thats my only problem. I play this game nearly every day, and still can't beat it. the game's skateboard tricks are the best things i like to do. like the Gnasty Gnork, is to cool! and i've never gotton higher than my latest score, which was 34,287 points.
but the hunter bonus games are to awesome! like shooting the sheep invaders. I know lots of game cheats, but they never help me. this game might seem hard for me, but i still can't stop playing it!
| Spyro Rox!!! | | Sita from Preston, England says (26/Aug/2003): | Spyro is a really cool game to play. It's funny, additive and has got cool graphics and music. The game is pretty easy though, but has some good challenges with the bosses. I really enjoyed the 'videos' in it with Bianca. The funniest part is chasing Moneybags around and getting all your money back. When you finish the game with 100% you can go on to a super bonus world, which completes your game with 117%. Also if you try out some cheats you can do cool stuff, like turn Spyro's head big, or make him flat or change him different colours. There is also a cheat to turn your skateboard into a squid!!! That's one of the many good things about Spyro - you don't only have to collect gems and eggs - you get to skateboard and go in Sparks’s world. Who knows maybe there are other things you can do... So buy this game - its number 1!!

.The graphics in this are stupid. The lights are reel time making you feel your there. The zombies are faster, quicker and harder to beat. There are more species of undead in this version. The game lasts 4x as much as the last game giving you hours of gameplay. I garentee that this game will have you looking behind your back every second.The plot is the best i have seen in a game. Stupid
