Good & Bad Points about F1 Championship Season 2000 PS1 | | Jacky from W.London says (13/Jun/2001): | F1 Championship 2000, in my view its a shame that EA lacked patience in releasing this version of the 2000 f1 season, mainly due to the fact that I had already purchased F1 2000, which had loads missing - (Orange Arrows with wrong sponsors, and Al cars which where very unreliable with constantly expiring engines).
If your an F1 purist then you have the power to set your car up to do lap times similar to the AL cars, which will make your racing more realistic.....if your an all out arcade racer...then its best advised to stick to Time attack or arcade mode.

You can also view other cars qualifying laps while in the pits.
Wheel to wheel racing, will definetly get your hands sweating!
Backmarkers who actually move over, however CPU controlled cars have personalitys programmed in eg: If you try and overtake Eddie Irvine or JOs Verstappen, think again...these guys will almost definetly close the door...as I've found out.
Cars that develop techincal faults (gearbox, engine,), and tyres that do wear out (an important factor missing from F1 2000.
Also the cars are very "set-up" sensitive, so get it wrong and you'll find yourself over & understeering and spinning out of contention.
Bad Points
No option to view your last qualifying lap even though u can see other drivers.
No lap times from other drivers posted in practice sessions.
No, after race replay of the whole race- How frustrating!, only 3 clips availble which sometimes will just show a Minardi trailing around in 20th place...how fun!!
Some mid grid runners dont pit....others do, so this can spoil any stratigies.
No option to watch a whole race without racing.

| It is great my fav out of 50 games | | bob hump from ghkkd says (10/Aug/2001): | F1 2000 champship has great driving A.I. cars brake down, spins outs and losse gears. Has great graphics tracks look real look cool when you put it in neturel and shift gears a white could of smoke is behind your car. The sound is cool can hear engin humm.
