U should shut up! |
| A gamer from Southampton, England says (27/Nov/2004): |
Maybe it's different cause i a girl but, i just bought london racer the other day and i think it's brillant!!!!!! Once u've changed the graphics to 3D it's amazing! I think it's even better the need 4 speed: Hot pursuit. I think evry1's not giving this game enough credit as it's a fun game to play and have a mess about on! These people who r dissin it don't know what there talkin about! The only thing that has anoyed and bugged me is that there are no cheats whatsoever for this game which means i can't get better cars! Also, in the game y do the police keep shovin me off the road there supposed to be chasin the person who's < remove me > at 1st position!!! Anyway that's the ONLY complaint i have about this fantastic game! Thing i get is these games r just for fun u don't to be all well this new game has just come out and it's much better than that old crumby game 'London Racer'. It's an old game of course, it's not gonna be up to brillant standard that games like the Sims 2 are up too. By the way u probably think i some old woman but i'm not i'm 14 years of age! So, STOP DISSIN 'LONDON RACER'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It serves a purpose |
| taff from livepool (UK) says (28/May/2004): |
Its a reasonable game, which you can master in a short time. No need to take it to seriously with respect to its lack of realism. Its only a game remember. This isn't a thought provoking game, for the connosieur, just a bit of a laugh after last orders, ie it serves a purpose, and its good fun. People who slag this game off probably don't even enjoy masturbating, but have to make comparisons to the real thing.

|
Brilliant |
| Alex ( age 7) from Manchester UK says (22/Oct/2003): |
I like London Racer because the cars are good and the music is good as well. The graphics are okay and I think the tracks are top. When the police come after you they dont put much effort into it because they only come for about 2 minutes. But I like crashing cars off the road.
|
Could be better ! |
| Clizmael from Siggiewi, Malta. says (27/Jul/2003): |
For me London Racer is not the worst game I ever played but not even the best. At first I tought that London Racer is a very good game but as I saw it I changed my opinion. London Racer should have better graphics. The cars should be more real and the road has to have a lot of traffic because in the REAL London, the traffic is enormous. The police are very easy to pass, even on the Hard level. My suggestion is that when you lose a race, no money will be given to you or at least few. The game is too short top play and so more races has to be added to be more exiting. If all this will be added to the London Racer game, it will be more popular than ever.

A good game |
| james from Cambridge England says (6/Jul/2003): |
I have played london racer and i enjoyed the game. They graphics might not be a very good and there might not be enough detail in each level and it also might not be the best game ever, its the sort of game you play when your bored. Also in the game the police dont exactly make it hard for you. Overal i thorght the game was good, but not as what i thought it would be like.
|
Allright |
| John from Norfolk, England says (29/Jun/2003): |
Lonndon racer is allright but it is not the best game I have played. I was expecting the graphics to be much better but they are pretty crappy! I thought London racer would be as good as the computer version when I bought it. Besides, I hardly ever get to go on the Playstation because my brother is allways hoging it!
|
Average!!!!! |
| Max Zorin from York, England says (28/Jun/2003): |
I got London racer and within an hour i had completed it. But i don't care. It was quite fun, better that 1/10 and most of the earlier tracks are good. Glitchy graphics and short lifespan let it down. It is quite fun though, all those police car chases and all that cash to be won. BUT, it's no Gran Turismo is it!

The worst game on ps1 |
| Martin from Bristol England says (29/Apr/2003): |
London Racer is the worst game ive ever played on the ps1. For a start the graphics are terrible. Really terrible. Loads of pop up and objects that look like London was made out of cardboard. Speaking of London where is the traffic? There should be loads of traffic it is the capital of England after all not some tiny village. Also the police dont make any effort to stop you - they seem to give up after about 2 mins. The races in London Racer are unbelievibly boring. 3 other racers no traffic - awful. And have you seen the cars? Their all shabby replicas of real manufactuars. To summerize - AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

Ha Ha Ha!!! |
| matt from Devon says (20/Apr/2003): |
London Racer is a laugh, maby a little on the cheap side, but a great game all the same. I think it is more fun illegaly racing around a public place, than it is to race around a race track. A bad point is you can't kill anyone or run them down, it needs more excitement and ladies wearing small amounts of clothing!
|
This is okay, but have u tried London Racer 2 for PS2?? |
| KidKraq from UK says (23/Oct/2002): |
The first one was good but now there is London Racer 2 out on the Playstation 2. It had a review in the official PS2 Magazine and it was rated 3/10. But i reckon it was a lot better. I would say 6/10. It is a good laugh and fun to play. It is the type of game you would play in the arcade, bright and colourful. But thats it from me now, thanks for reading.

A Dreadful game |
| James from Wirral says (9/Jun/2002): |
I own this game on PS1 and to be fair, it is crap. 1-there are not many cars and they dont even have real names. 2-the police sirens sound like more like ambulances or even fire engines. 3- the graphics are terrible. the only good thing about this awful game is the music
|
A Laugh |
| Adam from Plymouth / England says (29/May/2002): |
This games fun factor goes through the roof. Excellent for quick entertainment and certainly with the particular variety of vehicles and landscapes allows it to play on your imagination. Gameplay can be a little repetitive, however this is not a bad thing where this game is concerned because it maybe quick to beat, but it will certainly have you coming back for more. Extremely addictive and a nice break from those more long winded extravagant games. However if you are more of a person purely looking for a game to give you that "wow" factor, I'm afraid you might prefer to look at something else.

London Racer on PSX not as good as on PC |
| gideon mendel from london says (24/Mar/2002): |
I think that the london racer game is not half as good as it could be on playstaion. 1 there is hardly any vehicles to choose from 2. Theres no where to explore and 3 theres no tracks!. On the PC London Racer is much better and i have no problems with anything (and on the psx the police cars sound like ambulances)
|
the best |
| leonard corcoran from dublin, ireland says (26/Dec/2001): |
i felt that london racer was fantastic. The superb gameplay is only matched by a game like driver and even at that i felt it was better than driver.
the grapics were exellent, and the crashes seems almost photo-realistic, the cars seemed to bond perfectly.
the cars in the game were fun and agile, gliding smoothly along the finely layed out track.
the cop chases were ones of speed and good driving as you had to dodge and escape..... and win at the same time.
over all i would give it 9/10 as i felt the speeds could not match the tracks..
well worth buying and well worth playing

Why does every one degrade london racer? |
| James from London, England says (25/Dec/2001): |
Yes, the sirens of the police cars may become annoying, the realism may not be up to scratch, but can't you see the graphics? The pure thought of racing around a computerised london is impressive, why degrade such superb graphics? And why degrade the sound of the sirens? I think people who get bored of this game just play it to much. They expect to much from a computer game, I mean, can't a computer game be made for the look of the graphics. Who ever degrades it should look a bit closer at the graphics, the good things about the game, why be so optimistic and negative? I think people who don't like it just expect to much from it, set your expectations a little notch lower and you may find that you enjoy it a bit more. This game sets a good standard for the graphics a playstation can really take, so don't degrade it so badly.

What even possesed them |
| Dave from Newcastle says (6/Dec/2001): |
London racer was tipped to be an action packed racing sim that would rival the likes of Gran Turismo. Instead we get a shoddily made lump of rabbit poo.
The graphics are absolutely superb until you start to play, intro is good, but the levels are more reminicent of early snes gamaes. The sound isn't much better, the drone of the police sirens after two levels will have you ripping your hair out, and the whine of the car engine sounds more like a wasp on ecstasy. The gameplay is good, although rather annoying, the car crahses are totally unrealistic and when you finally get up to top speed we are expected to believe that a "Nime" can outrun run a "Trafalguar". The lifespan is less than two hours, mainly because it is all exactly the same. This game is just a cheap british version of driver, except that you have to follow a course. The only fun anywhere in this game is the names of the cars which include the "BWM" "Nime" and "Trafalguar". If you are unfortunate enough to have already bought the game like me you can always use the disc as a frisby for the sunny days on the beach.
