Excellent dogfighting with disturbing flaws | | Björn Andreasson from Gothemburg, Sweden says (16/Feb/2001): | This simulator lets you fly almost 30 different planes reaching from WW1 Fokker to modern jetfighters. You can fly alone, or take up to 3 wingmen along under your command. You can choose your enemy-team consisting of 4 fighters. You win the scenario if you defeat the enemy fighters or knock out the 4 anti air installations defending the enemy base. This is not a campaign-based game. Its more like a mission editor. Unlike Ace combat2, you are likely to get your ass kicked if you take on 4 F-16 Falcons alone, using the same plane yourself. The enemy seems to coordinate their attacks so when you get one of them in sight another one is on your tail. The annoying part is the dialog with your wingmen. Suddenly their cartoon style faces just appear in front of you in the middle of the action, giving you a brief text message you could do well without. Example: "Eat my shorts". This message is not even adressed to yuo but to the enemy plane your wingman is currently fighting. However i keep coming back to this game from time to time since the dogfighting dispite its flaws is so good.
