Worth the wait... |

As an avid James Bond fan, I had always hoped something like 007 Racing would be realized. Happily, after 20+ years, I was not disappointed. The successive mission format gives purpose to the Vigilante-8 style vehicular combat. While PS2 and Dreamcast platforms may have substantially raised the bar for graphics and animation benchmarks, the visual effects in the game are effective. The "slow camera" response, for instance, is a nice cinematic touch: instead of being stuck behind tailights, you get to watch the beautifully-rendered Bond cars sweep through bootlegger-reverses and other slick maneuvers. Combined with hip music that rivals recent 007 film soundtracks, the game's action, story and visuals pull the single player into an exciting adventure. Unless I'm mistaken, the only missing element is support for driving wheel hardware. Having said that, I must also join the chorus in their dissatisfaction with the multiplayer mode: zones are too small, and there's little (if any) collateral damage. Speaking of damage, why do car-stopping and tank-busting "Hellfire" rockets appear to puff harmlessly on forklifts? Such inconsistent realism only adds frustration--not fun--to problem-solving. Hoping the anticipated PS2 version addresses these issues and quirks, I'll still get plenty of Bond-genre, cut-to-the-chase entertainment out of this Playstation game.

I'm not a great Bond fan, but love racing games golden eye and TWINE, I decided to buy this game after christmas as something different. Although it actually lacks the racing part, this game is brilliant. It's fun, action packed and origional. With inspiration from the existing bond games and Gran Turismo style driving, puts it in a league of its own. It is under-rated as people find it difficult, but as long as you've got 3 brain cells and a bit of time, you eventualy figure out what your doing, and you learn new skills along the exciting journey. When you get better, the 2 player mode becomes great fun. Although the game can be limited, it is pretty much all the playstation can hack. The loading times are very short, so it is ideal if you want a quick game now and then. There is a selection of weapons, with inspiration from lots of other games, which are great fun to use. The only people who dont like this are geeks that enjoy strategy games, instead of fast, fun and furious action style racing games, and those who just cant play it or who give up too easily. If you are a Bond fan, a racing fan or just wanting a new exciting game, you think that you could handle it, I would definately recomend it.

This game truly and with no doubt in my mind sucks. It looks like they banged this game out in a month or two spending little time on the graphics (other than the movies which are still kinda lame). Dont even rent the game, its not worth it, I made it to the level where you you race Jaws and some other chick down the bayou. They shoot mortars with amazing accurucy for a car going 100 mph. Its way too hard the targeting systems are too slow you cant move back and forth fast enough to kill anything moving. The Bond cars design was fairly good but when you have a smooth looking car surrounded with poorly done graphics it ruins the whole look. The car is way too hard to control. I wasnt expecting any GranTurismo or anything just at least the ability to go in one direction without skidding around. I've played some bad games and some good games, this one was the worst of em all. (Worse than Dukes of Hazzard? - Editor)

This game was great! The action is good, the cars are incredible, and the storyline is ingenious. I felt like I was James Bond in a movie. The way the BMW's are implemented and the way the Lotus is used is absolutely incredible. It was also neat how they let you remotely drive a car through a mission. They implemented every weapon on the car that was used in the movies. The only problem with this game is that there are not enough missions. I wish they had have created more missions to use on the 00 Agent difficulty level instead of just lowering your time to complete the same old missions on the agent level. I beat this game in a day and I was bored after that. I couldn't imagine the boredom if I bought it. Other than that this game was great.

007 Racing was excellent. As A Bond fan myself, I was amazed at how well EA has done. The graphics, the game play, the range of weapons you can use are all excellent.The weapons especially fit those that 007 would use himself. So what if some people Groan on About the steering just because they can't drive themselves. I'm not into driving games, but this game influenced me to play more driving games.All this explains why it deserved a 10.Plus I know that level 3 is hard but thats 1 level out of the 15 Wonderful levels, but if you keep trying you will eventually crack it.Also the range of wonderful cars you can select is great!
PS. All those people who say it looks like driver are wrong!!!!

Good graphics and gameplay 007 rocks anyone who thinks differently email me and i will tell you personaly how much of a queer you are. I downloaded it off of the internet so it was well worth the $1.00 i spent on the cd-r and the .50 cents i spent on ink to print the cover. would be nice if there were more codes like invincablity or unlimited ammo the maybe and i just have not found them yett, i still have not played the 2 player mode because i usualy dont play any of those my tv isnt big enough and i hate split screens i give the game an 8 because its pretty fun and i had a blast playing it

I would have picked 0 for the score if I could have. This game sucks. Really, I wouldn't even rent it if I were you. If you're one of those people like me, who just browse in Wal-Mart for a cool game now and again, don't get fooled into thinking this is a good game. The graphics are terrible, the cut-scenes will make you laugh due to the cornyness of it, and the control of the cars, whoo!!! It really is sad. You can't even make a simple left turn without skidding out of control. I've been searching for cheats for this game since I got it, looking for a way to beat the game. I don't know what they were on when they made this game, but it must have been some good stuff!!!

There is endless problems with this game. I'll begin with graphics, for such a new game the graphics are HORRIBLE! In multiplayer mode, when your driving around there is no one driving the car. I payed $40.00 dollars for this game when it was new, and realy,even brand new, it's only worth $15.00. I don't know what the people who made this game were thinking, or event if they were thinking. When I bought it, I was expecting something comparable to Goldeneye or The World Is Not Enough, just in a car. And in gameplay, the car dosen't even handle realistically. I think my giving it five stars was being extremely generous for a game this horrible.

Although this game has its GREAT points....and if you have played it, you know I am talking about the movies...It gets a bad score from me. The car is IMPOSSIBLE to controll and 007 RACING is the name right?? Who do I ever race??? But as anyways, there are WAY too many people to kill...They HAVE GOT to get rid of that EXACT timing crap...they give you JUST enough time to beat a level, and that's stupid! Not only do the guys to kill suck but the weapons are RIGHT outa' Duke Nukem

I wasted money on this game even though i only paid $14.99 its still not worth it!I love driveing games,no not mission ones like Driver.Just regular ones like Grand Turismo 2 or Test Drive stuff like that.And when i poped this in my playstation i was MAD MAD MAD.It isnt even driveing at all and i wasted 15 bucks buying this and the levels are shaped horrible,it has bad turns and its impossible to control.Yet its hard too and thats bad and plus its not driveing at all.I didnt like it because it sead it was a raceing game and its not and even if i did like mission car games its boring.Dont buy it.

This game is by far the worst game of the year! It stinks, wht stinks? EVERYTHING! The graphics, they are very cheesy and people walk through each other! The base story line is crap, oh, I have seen better on Game boy original! It is very boring, there is four cars to choose from and the difficulty is ridiculously hard! You can't even do the third level without bashing in your console in a temper! The sound is crap, it is all smashed together! Overall: 1/10, I gave it one becuase it is simply good for taking to a baseball game and bashing in!

I saw this game, and thought to would be fun. Well it is. Yes it is hard at times, but if all games were easy no one would like them. This game does take time, and is short, but is fun also! It's called 007 Racing because you are racing against the clock. To me that was fun, and after practice it becomes easier. I have beat all the levels, The last level I played 1000 time till I finally won. I gave it a 10. To me, it was fun, some parts simple, some hard.But there is no since in getting mad it's only a game!!!!! Any way. It's up to you.

its a really good game its kind of hard though. i mean there really isn't any racing in it but the action is good. once you learn the feel of the car in the game it gets much easier. the hardest part is killing the dumb little guys that are always running around you. this game over all is pretty good. a few flaws and not enough racing but hey when you get to the 2-player mode its like twisted metal british style, so i hafta throw in a few points for that one. the game is over all good though

As above stated, I felt that this game wasn't as great as it was cracked up to be, yet it makes the grade. I would avoid buying this game for it requires skill and a working knowledge of James Bond's history. Anyone who bashes a game like this is an idiot and is just frustrated because they have no skill whatsoever. Though it doesn't have suffient graphics and does not compare to more lengthy games, as above stated it is suffient.

Because 2 words,IT SUCKS.Its worse than any game plus EA(makers of this game) totally copied off the game driver and plus this game isnt even racing so why the hell did they call it that?And theres not enought missions,yet the missions they do have are boring to fans and gamers.Buy Driver istead of this to me this is an insult to gamers and 007 fans across the world!Shame on EA for makeing such a stupid game.

alot of reviews say "this game is too hard" it's not true... think of it as a challenge, somthing to do when you are bored or wanna try you driving skills on a different type of driving game. this is a great game because theres alot you have to learn. i don't know what 1 buck or doller is to the pound (english) but it sounds cheap and if you don't like it give it to someone who does. gr8 game, hard as life.

And the intro video was great!(If you have this game then you probably know what I mean) The cheats you have to earn isnt very hard to do also because you just have to keep doin that misson over, as many times till you are happy with your results... SO GO BUY THE GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This game is better than average. i never really had problems handling like some of the other people here said. they probably just never played a racing game in their life. onec you get good enough its really fun. i was stuck on the third level for awhile but afterwords it was easy. all you have to do is spend a good day on it and you'll be addicted.

I finished it in a day, it was so easy.
The graphics look like a hippie on dope drew and the cars spin at every opportunity.
There's only 15 tiny levels, a few cars and like 10 weapons.
The only good point is the multiplayer mode where there's still only a handful of levels.
I'd rent it out but i woudn't waste £30 on it!
