It's a Great Game | | Andre from Jakarta says (5/Dec/2000): | This is the best WCW game on playstation. It has many wrestlers and wide backstage. We can also change our costumes. We can take weapons from wall such as telephone, mirror, heavybag, ect. It has original music ( like smackdown ). With Tony Schiovany and Bobby " The Brain " Heenan, This game hotter. The CAW mode is better than in mayhem. There are so many moves here, and there is preview button. But, its weakpoint is too long loading. i think, this is a good game. But meny of my friends said that this game is bad. Because they value it from its graphic, and they compare it with smackdown 2. I still more like it than smackdown 2. I hope EA will make better, and more better wcw game next time.
| WCW: Backstage Assault | | A gamer from southampton, England says (23/Jan/2001): | Ithink the game is brilliant, what it lacks by not having a ring is the amount of backstage areas and different weapons availiable to leave your opponent battered and bloody,[personal fav the microwave] o.k. there a some things wrong with the game like the speed at which the characters move not very fast at all. aprt from that its very good, i think that the loadingtimes are quicker than those on smackdown 2 even though sd2 has more wrestlers to pick straight away to play with Backstage assault gives more enjoyment knowing that you can beat your opponent in to submission and even KO them completely and you will still get them as playable characters afterwards, even the creat a wrestler mode has improved since wcw mayhem. i just hope EA can keep up the work and bring out more wrestling games like this.
| missing something | | assassin in the wwf from Wisconsin says (29/Jan/2001): | I think that this was an ok game, but there were a few important details left out. The first problem is that their is not a ring. If they are going to keep this game backstage then at least have a room with a ring in it. Without the ring you can not have tag team matches or anything like that. Also, the graphics are horrible. The wrestlers look nothing like their real life counterparts. For example, Sid Vicious has an almost bald head when he really has some of longest hair in WCW. When the wrestlers move, they pretty much tip toe. I also dont like the wrestlers in the game. They were able to include Doug Dellinger, Jimmy Hart, Sarge and Asya (horrible ripoff gimmick to Chyna). Yet, They were unable to include The Cat, Mike Sanders, Natural Born Thrillers, Or the Perfect Event. I mean, who wants to wrestle as Doug Dellinger anyways. Also, this game is big on Hardcore when there may not be a hardcore division in WCW. On the up side, I like the create a wrestler mode. I noticed a move in the caw mode that looks like the peoples elbow. So now I can Have a total WWF assault on WCW. Sweet!
p.s. Lance storm doesnt even have the canadien mapleleaf move. AAAAARRGGHHH!!!
