applause, natsumi u did it again!!! | | ~*~*teefy~*~* from cornwall, uk says (11/Jun/2004): | this game is brilliant! one of my faves, i was actually given a copy by a good friend, and had oe look at it and thought "dull" and from then on it lived in my bedroom drawer, until one nite i was bored of al my old games and saw it lying there and thought oh wot the hek il hav another go! and i did and i loved it and did'nt eat for ages, seriously!! no kidding, well it helped get a few pounds off!! i was officially hooked line and sinker, i played non stop got married to popuri had a baby then after the ffth year, accidently deleted all my progress, aaaaaaahhhhh, i freeked completely, now iv had to start all over again but its worth every minute, trust me it looks really **** at first but give it a chance, ul be in for a very good awakening, just like i was now i am soo in love with this game, but i did at one stage get a bit bored after doing it over and over again day after day, this was due to my all or nothing personality, with me i either go ape over something or hate, theres no in between! lol!!

I had never heard of it before, until one day, I was at a game store, and saw it for sale for $20 bucks. So I bought it and took it home. It was kinda confusing at first, but I soon got the hang of it. Pretty soon my mom was yellin at me all the time because I was glued to my PS2. Love the horse, except for when I had to push its dead ass into the stable every time it was gonna rain the next day. Funny how the the animals freaked when I cut it with a sickle. (Only did it once!) Now my chick is pregrant and I have $300,000 dollers, 10 sheep, 10 cows, and 10 chickens. I feel sorry for Gray, his grandpa shouldn't have been so hard on him. The tomato fight took some time to win, kept getting shumcked by tomatoes all the time! Same with the Opening Day. Had to restart, restart, restart and restart some more. But it sure felt gooding watching my dude eat the Power Berry. There is tons of stuff to do, fishing, lumberjacking, knocking your chick up, (Although I don't know how they did it since they sleep in different beds!)
Wish there was more animals, maybe in the next game, we could have ducks, goats, cats, steers, and more. Hopefully someone who works on the games will see this!! Plus, whats up with the no meat thing? I think we should be able to eat our cows, sheep (Lamb chops anyone?) and chickens. There would be tons more repices if we could!

I relly liked how they made it challenging by giving you a time limit to improve the farm. I really got the feeling that i was a real farmer. I like how you can get helpers to help you on the farm so you don't hace to work so hard. My favorite person is Karen be cause she is hot. My favorite festivals are the chiken sumo festival and the tomato festival. The graphics were not the greatest but they were ok. I really had fun playing it. I liked the sound a lot becaus it sounded like a real farm. I think a game like this should be up in the price be cause it is a really great game. I really did not like the small amount of seeds to choose from.I also like how you can remodel your home and other buildings. The only thing i would change is that we could get bigger tools that make it a lot easyer when you have to harvest a huge load of crops. I also like that you can get married to the girl of your dreams.
| Harvest Moon ROCKS!!! | | Amanda from San Diego, Cali says (9/Jun/2004): | Alright, I just want to start off with that I know that some people do not love this game as so many of us Harvest Moon followers do, but please, if you don't have anything nice to say...You know, don't say anything at all.
My addiction to Harvest Moon started from my ex-friend. He brought over some games to play while my mom was out, and among them were Yoshi story (woohoo!) and Harvest Moon 64. I was very sceptical at first, but I was soon completely hooked on it. I ended up playing that game all night. Last month, I started to get bored of 64 (as I had been playing that same game for...3 years), so I decided to check out Save the Homeland. Now, I didn't really like the fact that you can't get married in this one and that the game has to end whether you like it or not. So I bought Back to Nature without even trying it first, and I have absolutly NO regrets. It's the best of them all, and I love it forever and ever. If you haven't tried it, just give it a chance. Rent it fist though, because this game is definately an aquired taste.

P.S. The fact that I love this game could have something to do with the fact that I am very much against voilence and this game has none of that.

I owned the 64 version and I just loved it. Couldn't get enough. I'm a guy who likes his shoot 'em up games as much as anyone but when I read a review I thought this is a deeper game. No senseless violence no boring objectives. Supirior to an RPG this game has slow but interesting gameplay with the chicken sumo and tomato fight make the fesitvals fun and give you something to play towards. The aspect of wooing a wife really makes you believe you are on a farm. Deep gameplay makes up for it's un-realistic graphics. But for playstation, it has overall better graphics than FF8 and Ledgend of the Dragoon. If you are interested in getting away from the blood splatering mayham maybe you should go on a trip to the farm.

Pleasent, MI or Shields, MI says (26/Dec/2001): | When I first saw my cousin playing Harvest Moon-Back To Nature, I thought it must have been a stupid little kid game. But then, I watched her play it more and more, and eventually began to play it myself. How you can interact with other characters inside the game is very neat and I hope they come out with one for a girl in America. I like the different festivals, planting crops, and trying to find out different ways of getting the things that you want. Like seeing the Fairy Goddess by giving her EGGS is so cool. The whole entire game is a work of sheer brillance and I congratulate whoever came up with this most excellant idea. The graphics were okay, not horrible but not the best, the sounds were cool. I really liked how the music changed when you were in a different area, and when a event started up. That is my very favorite part, the moments that happen with the others are really cool, only I wish that there were more of them. The only part that I didn't really like was how everything stopped going on after the baby could walk and talk. He doesn't grow anymore, and nothing else happens! I mean, no more major moments, nothing to work for, but besides that, this game rocks!!!!! I hope that maybe someday it will come out, renewed so that more stuff is equiped and the game will last for longer. Hope you like the game as much as I do!!!

With animal buying, cooking, participating in festivals and wooing girls this game could make you blow your top off. However the more you try the better you will do. My sister is always pestering to play on Harvest Moon and has a saved game that uses up FOUR blocks of my 1mb memory card. I am currently trying to get Karen to love me and she has a red heart so i will ask her to marry me. I have 500.000g, ten cows, ten sheep, ten chickens and have harvested over 900 of each crop.

But, it is more fun to try to earn money and impress the girls than to just chill all day. I really enjoyed it and was so excited when I finally found it in the store. Anyone can figure it out. There are a lot of hidden secrets that make the game worth playing. The music is pretty decent, but if you sit around playing while listening to your own usic that is cool too. i could play this game non-stop for days (if i didn't have a life).

I have 30 animals all together it is hard to take care of all of them but i can do it. I on it 24 7 but not when im in school. I like it because you can do may things and marry diffent girls and thats cool. It seems like real life with real life problems like managing money and having a kid.But there is one thing that gets me mad it when a hurricane comes and takes my crops away but thats real life that is whats cool about this game. The hardest thing about this game is getting the girl to like you. But the fun part is the festivals i like the tomatoe festival the best. I got to keep my horse my horse is called lighting. My dog and hana are going to have puppies but im mad that you cant keep the puppies but i have enough animals. I found out how to get your wife to have twin i cant wait to she can have twin but she is not pregnant yet. By all this stuff i know you can tell that this is my 3 time marring someone . The longest year i played to was 5 years because i was wondering what the girl were like and i wasnted to get to know them to so started over . I could keep going on but im going to go play my game good bye.

You can't go into the bedrooms, you can't enter in anybody's house hardly in any place or in any time! You should be able to go wherever you want whenever you want like in some other games! The Harvest Moon Back To Nature Game is one game that hasn't any business being in the stores to be sold to displease a Customer. I am highly dissapointed with this game. You have to level your tools, you hardly get any money, you are an Outcast which is not fair at all! You should be equal to the other Villagers. You aren't even inculded in their stupid stinking village! I hate this game! It sucks! Destroy it! It is not at all the game which deserves all this admiration from all you mindless clones following it! Now, if you shall excuse me, I am going to go play my Ultima game in which I can pretend all the Harvest Moon Back To Nature creators are the outcasts and I can teach them a lesson by not letting them anywhere for a change. I play it from morning, to night, but i have to eat dinner, or lunch, I skip breakfast, and when i have school, I do my homework then play this game, till I'm tired. This game sucks you in. Once you play this you'll never leave this game. It's so addictive, or like a deases, once you play, you can never stop. I think this the best game so far I have, sure I may have grand theft auto vice city, but it gets boring, i have other games too, mostly PS2 but I like this one the best! It's fun. My top 3 girls, would have to be.........#1 Ann, Ann is hott, she's a tomboy, but she's hotter then Karen. #2 Elli, elli may look ugly but, she's cool, she's friendly and nice, her cooking is okay, but at least she tries her best. And last #3 Popuri, Popuri is pretty and nice, but she's hard to marry with, especially Ann, but that's what makes this game fun. Alot of people are thinking about how Natsume should make a a player that you can choose to be a guy or girl. We'll if you go to Japan, they have that game Harvest Moon, but you don't choose if you want to be a boy or a girl, you have to by the girl version if you want to be her or the boy version if you want to be him, they are sold sepretly, but if you play a girl you only stay for 3 years if you don't get married, if you do get married you beat the game, that's the bad part, and for boys, I'm not sure, proberly the same for Harvest Moon: Back To Nature. But this is only in Japan, sorry.
Natsume, plase make more Harvest Moon games for PS2. I don't really like the new one, Harvest moon: Save The Homeland.....sorry

| Great game, could be the best Harvest Moon game yet! | | Derek Robinson from Swift Current, Canada says (22/Jan/2001): | I'm not a big fan of RPG games, but this game is nothing close to a normal RPG. Harvest Moon has a style that no other game in the world has. It is clever with tons of mini games and very addicting gameplay. If you liked any other Harvest Moon game you would love this one. I knew it would be good, because after playing HM 64 I knew I had to get the PSX version. I sold my N64 for almost nothing and got a playstation the same day and bought the game. As I expected it was another great game by Natsume. The gameplay is something that no other game has and the simulation part of it is incredibale. There is not much 3D overload on this game, but you don't care because the gameplay is so creative. I have no idea how they come up with all the things that the characters say in the game and the festivals are a blast, much better than HM64.
The Down Side
The sound on this game is very cheap, everytime you walk it sound like you steping on a mouse. The music is cute, but it will get on your nerves as time goes on. Also, the sound of when you pick up things or put pick an item from your backpack makes me want to vomit. Since sound is no important on the game, mute the TV and jam to some of your favorite tunes. The only other bad thing is the loading time, it was much better than I ever thought it would be, but everytime you go somewhere you will have to wait 3-6 secs and it kinda gets annoying. If you want to solve that problem, have some food or a drink handy and take a bit or a sip during loading time.
Overall it is game that is fun for the whole family with all of the great new features. So jump into your favorite chair and get ready to be sitting in that chair for hours on end.

Then i saw this game at Costco and it looked a lil baby-ish. Then i played it and it changed my mind entirely. Now im playin it nonstop and when i put the controller down, after about a half an hour, i play it again! Call me nuts but i dont care this game is the best!!!
