i luv harvest moon!! | | amy from san jose, california, usa says (2/Jul/2005): | harvest moon back to nature is the best game i have ever had!! i luv it! my favorite part is trying to marry a girl. i'v married elli and popuri. if you want to marry elli, here are some things to help her like you: she loves flowers,(all kinds so it's easy to make her heart red. if you want to marry popuri, here are some more things to help her like you: she likes eggs, you can give eggs to her everyday. she also loves summer flowers. you know, the ones that grow in spring? just keep trying to give those things to her everyday. if you want to know where you get some powerberries: if you try to chop down a tree in mother's hill, (it's a tree in a place there, you'll be able to see it) it will say, "are you going to cut me down? i have been rooted here for 100 years. are you going to cut me down?" if you click don't cut down, it will give you a power berry in return. you can also get a power berry if you win the swimming contest in summer and when you dig in the caves. i luv this game so much and you should too!!! if you don't, i would kill you!!!!!! i hope these might'v helped ya and bye!!!!!!!!!!!
| The Best Game Evahhhhhh!!!! | | harvestmoonaddict from Philippines says (12/Jun/2005): | I bought Harvest Moon: Back to Nature when we were strolling along a particular mall, when my brother saw a shop for playstation games, while he was picking, I walked along the shop to reccomend to my brother, a salesalady came to me and asked me if I needed anything I told her if she knew any games for ps1, she quickly said Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town, I asked if I can see it, she hurriedly came to get it, but it turned out that it was almost sold out and what's left is Harvest Moon: Back to Nature, from the first time I saw it, it quickly struck me, the characters displayed on the cover were so cute, the background, everything! So I quickly told her we would purchase it, I ran to my brother, I almost tripped, I quickly told him about it, he was amazed by the display, so we bought it. When we got home, we quickly tested it, the first thing on my mind, was is this great?, when I heard the music, and saw all the characters, I told myself, it is great!!!! At first I can't understand what we are going to do until the end of 3 years. We haven't harvested any crops, we didn't own any cows so we have to leave Mineral Town. We played it once again, and now, we know what we have to do. Harvest Moon truly is the best game evahhhh!!!!!

In my game my money is above 2,000,000 gold, Ialso have all the recipes that can be made but I don't have time to post it all to you, it is over 64 recipes. I married Popuri in my game but I only marry her in my first year of Fall! I also have a child named Rick. but I'm only in my 2nd year! All the villagers in the game loves because I always give them stuff that they like.If Cliff leaves Mineral Town all you have to do is to ship 200 of each farm product and he will come back. If you want to cath all the 6 legendary fishes I will tell you how: To catch the carp you have to catch the other 5 legendary fishes, to catch the sea bream you need to catch 200 fishes and sell them all, to catch the catfish you need to mine at the winter mine and fish in the secret pond, to catch the angler you need to be in winter season and fish at night,to cath the squid you need to throw a small fish as a bait in the ocean and then cast you reel, to cath the char you need to have all this four recipes sashimi, sushi, chirashi sushi and grilled fish. There are no other games quite like it, definitely one of a kind. The cartoon like graphics make it fun to play and the interaction with other villagers is very good. The more they like you the more positively they talk to you and on many occasions give you things like recipes or even a fishing rod. Barley tells you how to make ice cream if you give him an egg. The music changes for each season and makes gameplay more intereseting, in different areas the music also changes making it less monotonous, not that anything in this game is monotonous. The concept of a farming simulation game is definitely unique. Starting out in year one can be hard and it takes time to build up a profitable business but that only adds to the game. In some ways it is what makes it unique you spend each day cultivating the land and tending to your livestock while trying to form good relationships with the villagers in the hope that at the end of the three years they will accept you and let you keep your own farm. The idea of losing at the end makes you work even harder to ensure that you don't fail. This game gives you endless hours of entertainment and enjoyment, I know I have wasted many of my days off playing on it and will continue to do so. It is suited to players of all ages; once you start playing you're hooked for life. I love this game and will be playing it for many years to come.

It really appealed to me and though it looked gay on the front I noticed the little guy on the front was an anime. Seeing as I'm into Anime I got excited and read the back, sadly my dad wouldn't let me buy it since we were in Asda and this and that bla bla bla!!!! Anyway I finally talked him into it played it and LOVED IT TO DEATH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think it is a brilliant game and enjoy the activities where the town's people get together. The graphics were bright and colourful, any money spent to buy the game was worth it, the music has a typical and addictive farm sound to it, it keeps you ocupied for HOURS and it is brilliant that the game is never completed!!!!!! I've found the game sad (when you find out at the start that the kind old man has died)and happy (like when Karens food keeps getting rejected in the cooking competition!!! The game makes you want to play forever and I practically through a tantrum when the batteries run out and I haven't saved the game when something important has just happend. Thanks for everything guys (and girls don't forget girls!!) for making a GREAT game!!!!!!!!

ohhhh... here are some tips for newbies...
during the summer(when Kai is home), there is always a hurricane. If you find a bottle, go talk to Kai the day after a hurricane. He'll fill your bottle with perfume!!!
to make "quick money", you have to have one game file(And I think it needs 2 Memory cards). Make sure you have a cow or sheep on your game(adult)... Copy your game on to the other memory card, and go into the game you want to make money. When you go to sleep, choose the "Exchange Animals" option and have an animal come to your farm from your other copied one. Sell the animal, then repeat this process over and over. got it??
that is all i can give you hehe.... ^_^
P.S. don't use gameshark coz it can give so many glitches and removes some fun out of the game..

And after three months I get bored playing this game. It's just I didn't appreciate it. But, I realized that I was wrong. And after 5 years here I am very addicted of playing it. I really spending hours everyday to play Harvest Moon BTN. I am on my third year now; I married Lillia's daughter Popuri and she's pregnant. This game is very amazing. I liked it so much because it helps a person to understand what life is and how to have fun while seriously doing your responsibility as a farmer and as a husband to your wife( I will be a father soon after Popuri will born our child). It also develops one's capability to handle a situation. Yes, its really fun and addicting!!!!!
I admit that I have used cheats for me to perform well. My farm percentage currently at 60% and I know I definitely stay in the game.

Get The Largest Rucksack And A Lot Of Money. Buy Flour And Get It To One Spirite. With Three Trips, Their Heart Should Go Up By Three. (each Time You Give Them 9 Flour, Their Heart Goes Up)
On The Second Day Of The Second Year, (this Only Works 9:00 To 11:00 Pm) Walk Up To Mother Hill, (oh Yeah, You Gotta Be Married) And Go To The Highest Point Of The Hill. Drop One Of Your Items, Perferably An Egg, And Run Back To Your House. Make Sure You Get Back Within A Minute. Talk To Your Wife, And Give Her A Present, (one Of Her Favorite Items) And Go Outside. You Can Do Whatever You Want For A Minute, Then Go Back Inside And Go To Bed. When You Wake Up In The Morning, Walk Right Past Your Wife (try To Run!) And Go Back To Mother Hill. When You Get There, There Will Be A Note. Bring It To Your Wife Within A Minute. She Will Say, "woah"! And Leave The House. The Next Day, Your Wife Will Have A Baby In Her Arms And It Will Have A Crest Of The Moon On It's Head, Arm, Or Leg.

Even If You Have The Girl On Red Heart, She Won?t Say Yes. The Upgrade Costs 10 Thousand G And 750 Lumber. You Need The Other House Upgrade, The Barn Upgrade, And The Chicken Coop Upgrade To Get It.
To Get Your Horse Back If Barley Takes It Away From You, All You Have To Do Is Plant About 40 Patches Of Grass. Barley Will Then Come To Your Ranch The Next Day And Say, "what A Splendid Pasture. This Will Work Out Great", Or Something Like That. He Will Then Give You Another Horse.
Ok This Cool Cheat Is Easy All You Have To Do Is Get Married To Karen Before The Third Year. That's Not It Though There Is More You Also Need To Get A Baby Before The Fourth Year Then Feed Your Cows The Chocolate You've Earned At The Thanksgiving Party In The Fodder. And Then They Will Start To Produce Chocolate Milk Which Will Cost ($2000). This Cheat Really Does Work I've Done It Myself it's Awsome !!

The girl i chooze is elli cauze shes cute charming caring .. but she has no sense of flavor ^^.. in spring you can give elli flowers but the flower that she like most is toy flower...in summer if u are always giving her flowers everyday her heart will turn red at spring 27 so if you can buy your blue feather and marry elli... i will give you a secret so u can easilly earn mony.. this trick requires 2 memory cardz 1st of all your file is not the same. second one of the memory card has a pet on it.. then load your file.. after loading your file exchange ur animals 2 the other file so you can transfer your animals to the other file w/o saving... then you can sell your animals and earn extra cashh..WARNING!! repeating this regularly may cause you your file to be damaged so you must do it when you nid cash...

Get Your horse back!-If your horse didn't have 8 hearts and got taken away you can get him back. Just plant 20 bags of grass and barley will come and give you your horse back after they grow.
No more filling the can!-In the winter if you go into the winter mine and you dig all the way down, there will be a pond and if u fill up your watering can in it, you will have unlimited water. Comes in pretty handy with huge fields. But... if you fill it up in another pond or lake for some reason, it goes back to normal. Its better if u hav the best watering can because when the blacksmith upgrades it, no matter what it goes back down to normal. Hope this info helps someone.

i named my baby rick because i belived some person who told me it would give me a better relationship with popuri's (my wife) bother but it doesn't.

Deadly Tools In 48 Hours
You can get very proficient with your tools and have them ready to be upgraded quickly in two days by doing the following. On the very first day of the game (before leaving the house) grab any tool out of the toolbox as soon as you can.
Use it over and over until it hits 400%; your guy will fall down automatically once he is exhausted (he will fall down and get back up after a little while). Now when you leave the house on the first day, go to the Hot Springs before using the tool and stay in there for two hours. While there, fill up the watering can.
On the second day, before leaving the house, use the watering can until it too goes to 400%. Again, go to the springs immediately after. Your tools will all be ready to upgrade to Mystrile, and the game has barely started!
Hint: Keep Hothouse from Being Damaged
Whenever there is a hurricane, there is a high chance of your hothouse getting damaged. A way to prevent this is to put your dog in the hothouse.
KAREN
Use the following trick for an easy way to get Karen to like you. Get the biggest rucksack, and get the winery lady to sell you as many wines as you can hold. Then, give them all to Karen. If you are fast, you can make two trips a day.
This trick requires the largest house and icebox (refrigerator) and the largest rucksack. Go to the wine maker's house and buy nine bottles of wine. Bring it home and put it in your icebox. Continue this until they are closed for the day. When they are closed, take nine bottles out and give them to Karen. This works very well. I can get about 63 bottles a day because of this.
Buy the last rucksack and buy as much wine as you can carry. Go to Karen and she will blush. Her love meter will go up with every nine bottles or so. After that is done, go to the place where the cedar tree is located. Collect as many flowers as you can hold and bring them to her. Also at the hot spring once at the start of the game, she will appear and say that you are looking sad. She will ask what is wrong. Answer "Love life" and her love meter will turn purple. She will console you every time you have a problem. Try to find where the winter flower is located and her love meter will go up. At the Cooking Festival, talk to her only and she will win and like you more.
If you have Karen on a blue heart she will give you Moon Drop Seeds at some point. Note: You must not be married to anyone.
If you like Karen, give her wine as much as you can at Fall 15 to better your relationship.
Take your dog to her every day, and, while holding the dog, talk to her. Her heart level will go up for every time you talk to her with your dog!

| this couldn't have been much more of a pleasure! | | MEL from manila, philippines says (27/Nov/2004): | the last time I played harvest moon BTN was four years ago. three months into the game, and I got my other friends to get their own copies and play it as well. you know what, we're still playing it up to the time being since this was one of those games that got us hooked all at the same time! there are three of us, and I mean, we used to take turns doing the chores for spring or summer, or one of us would take the memory card home and play the spring/summer/fall/winter event. it's just that amazing.
graphics are a little on the child-like but who cares? I think that the simplicity behind it all adds to the charm, and everything else just rocks on it's own. sounds, graphics, game play. all that!
now we're doing it all over, I'm writing this review and one of my friend is at the 24th of spring (1st year), tossing turnips into the bin. I'm guessing that after I post this, I'll go have a smoke, and then give my friend a break. he hee, the horse's doing great, and the second egg's hatched. this is going to be a fine year in mineral town.

When your fish is more than fifty, a man will come and give U a new fishing rod.It is gold in colour.But,I don't know how can i buy strawberry from the supermarket.Do U know that arter U buy a kitchen,U can cook some food.Now,I have fifty recipes.some of them are given by the villagers.They are very kind,when U give them presents,they will give U some recipes.I have won the first prize in the horse race.harris took a photograph for me.I put it on the cupboard.

I can't play for dis moment because i have to study for my exam.Actually, it's a game which about farming.The game just like our normal life.We can bathing,sleeping,cooking and planting some crops or flowers.
Here some interesting secret for the players-You throw a spa boil egg into the waterfall ,a minute later ,a nymph will appear to say thank you to u,isn't that great!
For the girls.i like karen more than the others.Popuri are childish,ann is a tomboy,elli is silly and mary is a obedient girl but ugly.(juz kidding).U can keep on chasing your girls until her heart is red in colour.tat means she is ready to marriy.]
For the animals,u can rear dog,chicken,cow,sheep and horse.U can enlarge your barn,your own house and even build a hot house to planting crops although it is winter.
The festival is soooooooooo interesting.U can brought your animals to take part at the festival such as horse festival,cow festival,sheep festival..........you can also gave some gifts like flowers,bracelet and many-many more at thanksgiving day and on her birthday.karen's birthday is 15 fall,popuri's birthday is 3 summer but i don't know the other bacause i haven't tryng them.

Basically, you are a young man on an old abandoned farm (owned by your granfather many years back.) You have 3 years to get the farm running again..You have to make money in all possible ways (fishing, Picking things from the grass and selling them, vegetables, fruits, and more) You also have the oppurtunity to have all your basic farm animals (cows, sheep, A dog, Horse, and even fish!)
Also to make it more intresting..There are five single women in the village..if you are nice to them...and give them gifts and talk to them a lot, you could end up with a wife! Of course, this game is challenging so nothing on it is easy! You have to have house extensions before you can marry her, and as you know, house extensions cost money! To make it more challenging, before you can marry her..The heart has to be red or yellow. Hehe, Yep, when ever you talk to the girl, or give her gifts, There will be a heart at the bottom...The colors are...
Black-She could care less about you. (no offense,lol)
Purple-Your her friend.
Blue-Crush
Green-She likes you ALOT
Gold-She is in Love
Red-Ready for marriage
I cant remember if blue or green is crush sorry but it wont matter until you play it, right? :)

Harvest Moon: back to nature is the best game ever! And the way you get to marrie people is cool but the only thing i don't like about this game is that you can't choose to be a boy or a girl but if you could the game would be perfect! And on winter 26 on the 4th year if you fall asleep on the brige nere your chicken coop it will break and your wife(if you have one) and child(again if you have one) will come out and then grots will come by and ask you to help him fix it and he will pay you! And an easy way for your kid to like you more is to give him some milk every day and take the dog to him and let him talk to him and soon his hearts will rise. And if your good friends with rick some day he'll come bye and ask you to take care of five chickens and he brings the food that they will need for as long as you keep them and he lets you keep all the eggs they lay!

MUSIC 5: The music is ordinary, not to good though....
GRAPHICS 7: The visual apperance is great. I especially like winter minus the STORMS...My poor hot house. I will always remember you...
GAMEPLAY 8: Fairly typical for the average Harvest moon player. Loading could be faster(Its just a PSX game anyways :P), and lets not get into the fishing part of the game. Where's Jaws when you need him!? The Festival could use a kick in the fun department, but they keep you going. The ability to transfer you animals was just pure genius!
CHALLENGE 9: If you have never planned a day in your life stay away from this game. It requires day to day planning. To do everything in this game will take even the most devoted player to the edge. With recipes, harvesting, festivals, fishing, and finding your true love this game offers alot.
if you're looking for a farming simulator with a huge story line then I recomend you play this game and if you don't I will come to your house and beat you with a blunt knife!

Anyways if you're not sure about this game, then rent it, but its better than playing Pokemon all day long.
