Namco Museum Volume 2: An enjoyable game with lovable characters! | | "Penguin" says (21/Dec/2000): | Namco Museum Volume 2 is a rare game because of the fact that it was never put into distribution much. However, after successfully finding and buying a copy at some site, I really enjoy playing the games. Six games are in this title. Those games are Super Pac-Man, Xevious, Grobda, Gaplus, Mappy, and Dragon Buster. Super Pac-Man is like the original, except it is more intricate. It has something called the SUPER POWER PELLET. This pellet gives Pac-Man invincibility and the ability to break through locked doors. The object is to collect all of the treats and pellets. It also has several animations to watch after completing a certain amount of stages. In Xevious, you control something called a SOLVOLOU and it is like a stealth bomber. One button releases a bomb and another fires your gun. In Grobda, you control a battle tank that moves and fires projectiles. This tank also has an electronic shield you can use. Both use energy, and time regenerates your energy. You are put up against many different enemies. Some have shields, some don't, and some are very agile. In Gaplus, the sequel to Galaga, you must fight the Gaplus creatures. When you rescue a captured friendly ship, the results vary. Sometimes this ship has a tractor beam that attracts and captures enemy ships and puts them on your army. Sometimes it has a super laser. Instead of calling levels stages, they are called parsecs (parallax seconds). I enjoy this game because there is never a dull moment and there are interesting features, such as more challenging bonus rounds and better dimensions on the background. In Mappy, you play as Mappy the police mouse. Mappy chased Nyamco, the boss of Mewkies to their hideout. They trapped Mappy in their hideout and from there on, they pursue him. To progress to the next round, collect all the stolen items. There are also bonus rounds. In Dragon Buster (an awesome game in my opinion), you control a warrior with a sword through many different labrinths. There are many agile and strong monsters to fight and kill, and also staged combats. The object of each round is to make it to the very ending stage and defeat the mighty dragon. As for my personal favorite, it would either be Mappy or Dragon Buster. I don't hate any of these games.
