a great game that aches for a sniper rifle |
| Jonathan. A from Nottinghamshire, England says (6/Jul/2001): |
This game is good no matter how you look at it, but it should have been brilliant. The game play, graphics and sound are all good but you cant help feeling that there is something missing.
The graphics are excellent by psx standards and the sound track captures the mood well. But there are a few annoying flaws. For instance the 1st person mode is great but there are often times when the enemy is highlighted in your target but the laser seems to go straight through him, you also find yourself aching for a sniper rifle to zoom in and pick off that annoying cyborg that hasn't seen you yet.
The camera is very intelligent and seems to borrow some of its controls from the N64 Zelda series (i.e. one button locks on to the enemy, sidesteps and centers the camera behind the player)which is a good thing because there is nothing worse than loosing your camera in the middle of a fight.
The worst thing about the game is probably the cutscenes, they can occasionally seem a bit disjointed and the voice over acting is terrible, even for a video game (well in the British PAL version anyway). I was also hoping for an intro sequence or even a brief description of the storyline (as I tend not to read the manual)but we are not treated to that. This makes me wonder wether the game was slightly rushed.
The puzzles as not too hard so you can get to the next section quickly. Sometimes you feel that they are a bit to easy though
The lack of any bonus levels, difficulty settings or multiplayer options make the game's lifespan a bit limited. However if you have played this game i'm sure you'll agree the pro's definitly out weigh the con's.

good but can be better |
| conz from malaysia says (29/May/2001): |
the game's premise is good with an engrossing storyline. choice of weapons are good except in certain cases, the weapon cannot be used even when standing in front of an enemy ie rocket launcher against laser cannons at the enemy base. the 1st person view is also substandard( i compare this to syphon filter which is the best playstation game ever produced). Control movement of character is not very accurate.
could be a flaw in the system....done verything rite but still stuck in the underground tunnels...collected 3 colored fuses but unable tom find the 4th....after having gone everywhere 10 times.
frustrating and coupled with the fact there is no walkthru....

C-12 Finally another great game |
| Soldier in vains from Papendrecht , Holland says (30/Aug/2001): |
This is absolutly one of the best games i've ever played.
The graphics are good the gameplay is good the story is good the weapons are good the enemies are quite good they are a litle bit inteligent and you need to use a certain strategy for each different enemy What I also like is that you work together with other guys from your side you will kill your enemies a lot more easy when they are around. Sometimes they give you a very vauge hint to beat a certain level or they just shoot at some aliens. The game isn't easy but not to hard to play it all the way to the end.(if your not to stupid)

Adrenekine pumped/puzzling/shoot 'em up is there really any thing else? |
| Matt from Devon Teignmouth England says (27/Apr/2001): |
First impressions to the game are ....aah ooh scary and you are full of scaryness creeping around the city the plot is amazingly developed and as you progress more bits unfold leaving you thinkin' geez how id they come up with that~?! the graphics are extremely hi quality and the variety of weapons are good to for each weapon you get a secondary use ie. rocket launcher 1st use fire rockets 2nd use fire 4 at same thing and create a fire wall the game is overall BRILLIANCE dont just sit there BUY IT!

So I'm a cyborg hero killing aliens right? |
| Dazza from London, England says (19/Apr/2002): |
I can't beleive that this game made it to market! The character control is jerky and unweildly at best - something that at times makes what should be simple operations almost impossible. See through walls and objects occur frequently and the graphics are something I would have crowed about 15 years ago. And the dialogue? Strictly boys own! Could've been a tongue in cheek romp with big guns but takes itself way too seriously for what is, by todays standards, a second class product.

Great nearly flawless!! |
| Elton Lim from Singapore says (17/Jun/2001): |
I was a bit apprehensive at 1st when i started playing, but after a while , I found the game to be nearly flawless. Its design layout is great and the save points were well located.Don't even get me started on its graphic. Its storyline lays out neatly. The music was good but not great but its fast-paced gameplay compenstates for it.The only complain is that it may have been a little on the hard side for begginers. But nevertheless it is a great game!

A little room for improvement. |
| Simon Wailling from Doncaster, England says (18/Sep/2001): |
Manouverability! That's the most frustrating thing! Have a look at 'Medal Of Honour', now there's a game and a half (or two and a half if you want to be pedantic). The challenges are fairly easily worked out, for my microscopic brain anyway. Any more difficult and they would be frustrating.
First person mode could be better too.
Overall, VERY good. But not to Medal Of Honour standard.

I think the game is one of the best I have ever seen! |
| Alex from New Castle Delaware says (27/Nov/2002): |
I love the game! It is a really good game. Sure there are some glitches and the alens know where you are to fast but other ten that it is a realy exciting game! Therw is one game better then C-12 and that is Mettle Gear Solid. The graphics in C-12 are as good as Twisted Metal Black and if the graphics are good so is the game!

The best futuristic game on the PS1!!! |
| Tom Davies from Buxton, UK says (29/Oct/2001): |
This game is big bad and hard. Defeat cyborgs and alians in this fantastic game. Solve puzzles and blast rockets at stupid cyborg heads. Fire turrets at alian tanks and save the world as Vaughan the greatest man on earth!
