No one can really say. It is oppinion. I know all of you people say you hate the game or dislike it. If its on a PSX I agree with you. However, the version for PS2 is a LOT better. I have played both and I must say it is like Tony Hawk 2 but what is wrong with that? It IS like THPS2 except that Neversoft has added better things. All of you people that say you like THPS2 should like THPS3 because it is essentially the same thing only a little better. Now that I've got that out of the way.....
I love the graphics (for PS2) even though it is fantasy it almost seems real.(Except Tokyo)
The sound was also good. The tracks were mostly good but the soundtrack that is sold in stores differes from it slightly. Overall good sound quality.
Now the gameplay is another story, it is WAY too easy. I beat it in about nine hours and I was still not really trying. The revert is really cool in the combos but it still gives low point values. Even though I've beaten it I will play it again because I think all THPS games are good and they are still ok to play.
Also, I think not including Bob Burnquist stopped some people from playing it.

All I see on here is that these people are not impressed with how Pro Skater 3 is and how it's just like 2. Then I see them saying how Pro Skater 2 was soooo cool and how they were addicted to it. By association, you'd think that since it's just like 2, then it would be as addictive, and it is. I can't put down the controller, dispite college assignments. New levels with old ones popping up as you go on is a great touch. Adding the old levels was a great idea. Next you have gameplay. Two more features plus online play soon will have all of the kids at Christmas time just waitin' for spring to come around. Finally you have better graphics than before. What else could you ask for? If you haven't bought the game yet, then buy it already. This game will become a must have for the PS2. If you're a fanatic of the game, then you should have no reason to not buy it either.

I found tony hawk 3 is fun and acdictive the only point it lost was some of the moves are tricky 2 land and there placed in a spot that they get used often I had so,much problems I only got 500 thousand point per run and in Tony Hawk 2 I get over 2 million the stars it gained was it's graphics,addictivness,and the move upgrades they made and the levels are a heck alot bigger than beffore.In short THPS3 IS THE GAME 4 ME.

I posted a review on 11/4. I spent all of 11/5 playing the game. This game is good, worth the money. Someone else asked how we could be upset since it is so hard to make a great game better. THPS2 was way better than THPS1. THPS1 is a great game. So they came out and blew all of our minds with 2, how can you fault people for thinking that they could pull it off again? It's a good game, but THPS2 is still my favorite. If I did it all over, I would still buy this.....I bought PS2 JUST for this game!!!!

First, let me start my saying that i have never played a Tony Hawk game before.. however, i have rented other skate boarding games, and skate board myself. This is by far the best skate boarder game ever created, not to mention that fact that it is the first ONLINE PS2 GAME!!!!!!!!!!! How can anyone talk bad about the first online ps2 game, that not only supplies its buyers with excellent game play, and maps/ characters, but also can be played multiplayer from one house to another. The only thing that i can think of is that the people who rented Tony Hawk, must not have been able to Purchase the product, which also means they probably don't have enough cash to buy a cable modem, which in turn means they cannot feel the full effect due to there own financial status and have to put down an awesome game to make them feel better about not being able to buy it. All you people who think this game sucks need to get a life. I loved it. The levels were great (especially the women covered cruise ship) and the graphics were great too. I'm not dissin anyone in particular but there ARE some great new tricks. Some people judge too tough. I think the game was a little short but some things were hard like beating the compitions. If you think that was easy I dont even want to hear your. I Liked this game. Buy it for Ps2 on One it does really suck!!!!

I don't see how you people could be so dissapointed. I mean how much more can you improve on such a good series of games. THPS2 was a GREAT game, its hard to make a GREAT game better. I am very pleased with THPS3. The levels are so much bigger and there's more to do.

I have been reading the reviews, I had the game the moment they took it out of the box at the electronics store, I was standing there while they were going through the games trying to find it for me. I had it opened before I was done paying for it and couldn't wait to get home. Everyone was expecting a whole new line up of tricks and skaters, the new manuals alone are awesome which were unheard of in the first two. The skaters bring a tradition to tbe game along with its superior game physics. They maybe unreal levels, but you can create realistic ones if you want. The levels are great and add variety to the possibility's. Maybe it has flaws, nothings perfect. But they took the best of one and two and added it that to something even better.

Alright. Ive been a fan of the tony hawk series even before the 1st game came out, back when the game was only a mere concept. I thought that 1st game was great, but it didn't have enough fetures or secrets. #2 was THE best ps game ever made, combined with cheets the game had endless possibilities. you never got sick of it. Ive had tony hawk 3 for 4 days now and im very dissipointed. the game play isint all that bad, but the levels are horrible. it almost dosent even make you want to paly it. I think that the guys at neversoft need to come up with some new original concepts and hopefully improve. When it comes down to it i guess its worth buying (or at least burning, cause i would never pay full price) cause you will have fun playing it. The games controls and feel are basically the same as tony hawk 2. the levels are very un realistic, and totaly un original. the sound track is pretty good, including music by afi, new music by alien ant farm (not that dumb smooth criminal song), the ramones and more theres only like 1 songs on the wole sound track that really sucks. the graphics have also improved, alot more clear and defined than before. the only part of the game that i think has crap grapics is tokyo, what the hell happened there? oh well its a pretty good game over all but its no tony hawk 2. so go out and get it. its well worth your time and effort!

THPS3 is the same thing as THPS2, only a lot crappier. The graphics are so choppy, and the levels are SO much smaller! I am disappointed that I actually spent the money for it. On PS2, this is one of the better games I've played, but unfortunately I only have PS1. My advice is to buy the game on PS2, because if you get it on PS1, you'll only be getting THPS2 with reverts and new levels.

I can't believe it! Tony Hawk #1 was sh*t compared to #2. We all expected #3 to have the same affect on it's prequel, and the idiots at neversoft carelessly dwindled away when they could have been thinking and creating new concepts and ideas to blow away THPS2...I am disappointed. Here is a summary. Intro: GREAT!!! they had to have spent the most time on this. Menu: incredibly boring. looks like neversoft lost their imagination. Skaters: nothing exciting, except BAM!!! but you cant really tell its him. Levels: Pretty good, not so realistic, but fun. Tricks: nothing new to get excited about, the shifty's are pretty fun cause I've always loved that trick, but they should've had those before. Skatepark editor: one change. S-mart instead of school on the themes. Create skater: some changes, nothing special. Soundtrack: awesome soundtrack, maybe 2 songs i dont like. they should have picked a better Del tha funky homosapien song, he has some WAAAAY better stuff. I only liked 2 songs on #2, and none on #1, but i like almost all of them on this one. THe game is good, but pretty much the same as #2, not many changes to anything.

To everybody on here who has posted a bad review: You are misinformed.
First of all, this is the PS1 version of the game. The PS2 version of the game is LOADS better. It has added animations, flatland tricks, hidden combos, bigger levels and countless other additions. The PS1 version isn't much compared to it. But compared to THPS2 for PS1, it IS better. It doesn't have "2" new moves added, it has SEVERAL new moves, even more if you include specials.
Can't land a 360? Maybe video gaming isn't for you. 360's are a breeze unless you are pathetic at the game. Boost up your stats, maybe. I think the people who have trouble landing 360's should be playing another game.
Oh, and just to clarify, the No Comply ISN'T a new move. One review here says it is.
I would recommend this game. It IS worth it.

Alright, I play THPS2 way too much. I play it with friends at least 6 hours a week. I am a major fan of THPS2, I am gooooood at the game. I get a lot of enjoyment out of pulling 2million point combos. So when I went to the store, dizzy with excitement about THPS3, I thought I was about to experience something on a whole new level. To be fair, and since I am a huge fan of the franchise, THPS3 is good and fresh. The levels have huge potential, and are very interactive. Here is the reason I am let down.....unlike THPS2, this game makes your grind/lip/and manual balance run out about twice as quickly. So instead of looking to see what the next line in my combos are going to be, I have to watch my grind meter, then my manual meter, then back to the grind meter. After 7 hours of play, my high score is only 190,000.....pathetic according to THPS2 standards. I am hoping that this is something I get used to, but if not, I am majorly dissapointed in this

I bought thps3 yesterday. i ecpected it to be the coolest game yet since thps2 was soooo much better than 1. was i right? hellll no!!!!! this game sucks. Everythinbg is small!! everything sucks so bad. not one good level!!!! its better than part 1 but not by much. its the same thing as thps2 just with slight changes that suck!! WOW you can earn tricks!! how stupid. thps2 was the best and thps3 shouldve been soo great at least 3 times as much as thps2. but it wasn't even half as good. people dont waste your money or time with thps3. you will be very dissaspointed. whoever tells you that its the best game ever is lying. they just dont want to believe how bad this game sucked. Thps3 is just a sad attempt to make some more money!!very sad!!!! i beat the game the first day. pert 2 took me a long time which uis fun because of the challenge. thps3 i beat in 3 hours. thps 1 took me about 3 weeks. U'd think Activision and shaba and neversoft would have made this game the best game ever created. but its one of the worst. thos game sucks a lot. dont buy it. ohnly buy it if its $5 cuz thats all its worth.

obviously the people that are bashing this game dont know what they're talking about. i've been a skater for 13 years now. and who cares if the levels arent to realistic. he gave you real levels in the 1st 2 games. my god theres just no satisfying some people. its the 3rd from a series why cant you just be happy in something they worked hard for, and quit complaining that it only has the same people ... BIRDHOUSE IS HIS SPONSER DUMB__!! ..of course theres not gonna be much more else in lineup. god some people are stupid. for all the people that bashed this game with the stupidest remarks. get a life. i highly doubt you could make a much better game if given the money. thank you

This game was a total letdown. 2 new tricks, whopee. Create a skater, Grind session had that! Christ! Sure you can make em look cool with new clothes, but who really cares??? Thps2 Was SOOOOOOOOOOOO much better. I couldnt stop playing it! It was soo good! So many goals, so many secrets! Such great environments! Who gives a damn if you can knock down a person? who cares if you can knock a bully into the snow? in thps2, it felt like you were like, really good at the game. But now, like some other guy said, its almost impossible to land a 360! Not enough goals, not enough new tricks, hell, activision should have added new skaters! This game was so disappointing...

Neversoft and Activision do it again with Tony Hawk 3! This is one of one of the best sports games that doesn’t involve a ball to come around in a long time. In my opinion this game almost as good as SSX and a lot better than ANY other skate boarding game ever made. The gameplay is very similar to the previous two titles, adding only the “no comply” and the “revert” command. All of the normal single player modes are in the game, in addition to the new Tutorial Mode to help newbies get started or experts brush up on their moves.
Compared to the other two titles this Tony Hawk offers better graphics, music, create skater customizations, and levels. There are 13 skaters in this game including “Jackass” Bam Margera. There also are 8 different levels in this game and they are so much bigger than the ones in TH 1 or 2. The park editor is bigger and better also. The create skater option is jammed packed with a plethora of customizable options, including jewelry and tattoo’s. You also can do a trick off anything and everything in this game including humans. The game runs at a blazing 60 fps and looks just as good as SSX. It is also the first Playstation 2 game that is Internet compatible. That’s right, in just a few minutes you can play with friends across the street or across the world without that annoying split-screen effect.

my friend had played tony hawk 3 at a trade show over the summer and said he couldnt wait to get it.i hope hes still waiting because this game is terrible, first the good, the graphics are alot better and the movements are much much smoother, other than that, the game sucks. Sure the levels are slightly larger than the first 2 games but that doesnt matter if the levels suck. second, i wish we had better skaters to choose from, there are very few new tricks, the levels are very unreal, they are ridiculous and the pedestrians are annoying and obnoxious at best.they shouldve spent less time on the interactiveness of the levels and instead spent time on making them better, more realistic, and more levels.the only good hubba ledges in tony hawk 3 were so small, and compared to the player physics, they felt smaller than curbs.give us something better to skate next time.....and give us josh kalis instead of tony hawk or bucky lasek please.....i mean he has a tv commercial!!!

I got this game yesterday and have since nearly beaten it, this game was a letdown overall. This has unfortunately left to much out there, the game shows unbelievable potential and I would still recommend getting it however more should have been in the game. This not not at all harken back to the point I got THPS2 and was overwhelmed by the things needed to be done. Basically, this game could have been absolutely phenomenal had there been more goals, etc. Instead, this game was simply too short after several hours of playing the 2nd I still felt like I was nowhere this is unfortunate, considering that the game has great playability, better than 1 or 2. Levels like philadelphia in 2 simply are not there, they need more goals, more motivation. I grew to like the mass amounts of things needed in the 2nd and the lack thereof in 3 has simply left me wanting something more. Simply put, 3 set me up to want tons of levels tons of goals with its fantastic gameplay but left me with very little.
