Best adventure game ever. |
| A gamer from USA Richmond says (26/Oct/2003): |
This is the best adventure game that I have ever played. Going back in time and solving the puzzles is chanllenging. But figuring them out and fighting the bosses is the best part. And trust me if you like adventure games and you like Dragon Warrior games you will like this one.

So awesome |
| A gamer from USA says (11/Sep/2003): |
THe greatest game i've ever owned and played. Grat time travel and plenty of action. Dragoons all the way. Excelent 3d bgs. The only bad thing was how u lose maribell and kiefer . Love the classes and mastering. Great two final dungeons. Great game to request. Monster transformation is awesome.

DW7 is a grat game! |
| Tiago from São Paulo, Brazil says (25/Apr/2003): |
This is the first Dragon Warrior game that I play. But I think that is one the best games that I ever played! DW7's graphics are litle above the others PSone's RPG games. The best thing in the graphics is that you can rotate the camera (a good deal if you get lost in a city or in a Dungeon). However the character's graphic are too poor (too bad! You can't know well the character's appearance). The storyline is the coolest thing in the game (you will worder to know what will happens next!). The storyline looks like a cool novel. There are countless events in the game and they will entertain you. Another good thing in the game is the fact that you can explore all the things in the world. Find all the shards is the best maze, I know that is hard get all of them but if you are a good explorer you will find them all. Wow! I was almost forgeting to talk about the side quests! They are a great challenge. It is fun look for the Tiny Medals (you also must be a good explorer to find them all!). You also can get the monsters to the monster park (I never get tired to pay them a visit!). The coolest side quest is the immigrant village, in there you must know how to manage it if you want build a cool village.
A great in thing in the game is the countless number of techs that you can have. It is cool master how use them well (you must do it to beat the game!
DW7 was one of the hardest games that I've played. This is why I like it!

Brings back memories of the good ol' RPGs on Nintendo! |
| Ryan the RPG fanatic from YC, CA says (24/Feb/2003): |
I'm only about halfway thru but I think this game is awesome. It makes you forget about the new rpgs that are somewhat lacking in the storyline area. I won't mention any... *cough* the new FFs *cough* ahh, sorry bout that. But, it makes me look back on all of the classic RPGs i played on the Nintendo like, of course DW series, the old FFs, and one VERY hard to find called Faxanadu. The only problem I see, which I saw that most of you agreed, with were when you can't find the one little F$< remove me > at *in shard that you need to move on to the next island. Other than that I give it a 9 out of 10. A nice break from the way too in depth RPGs of now. I find that most of the RPGs I buy now are remakes of the old FFs or the oldies but goodies like the Ogre Battle Series as well.

Dragon Warrior 7 |
| Dustin § from Clovis,California ON The planet Earth says (18/Feb/2003): |
The only Dragon Warrior game i played before this one was the First one and that was when i was like 7 or 8. at That time is was one of the best games i ever played. But Today now that im 15 and just heard about Dragon Warrior 7 I Got it and played. Now in my opinion This game was kind of lame at first because im not the person to deal with puzzles, well ill deal with them but ill get......not Happy. But I just got thru the ruins place and the game just picked up speed. I spent countless hours training my people, filling the town, & getting all the monsters in the game. Ummmm I think im running out of words so all i have to say about this game is buy it.

Repetition breeds contempt |
| SubRock from Little Rock, Arkansas, USA says (1/Dec/2002): |
I am a longtime fan of the series and was very excited to learn that Dragon Warrior VII was available. The graphics are old school, but graphics were never the strength of the series. The storyline is fun and involving. The gameplay is above average. On the negative side, I found visiting the same places twice to complete the missions more than a little repetitive and this is my main complaint with the game. It really does get a little boring visiting each place once in the past then coming back in the present to see it again. And woe betide you if you miss a shard! It stalls your adventuring and leads to frustration if you have to backtrack to find a shard to continue your game. But on a more positive note, the puzzle elements are fun and thought provoking and character development is fun and well-developed. If you're a fan of the series you will enjoy this one.

Graphics aren't everything |
| Jim Hall from Alice, Tx says (27/Nov/2002): |
This game is deffinetly one of the greatest RPGs in the world. The only flaw is when you put so much work into a character that you lose later on. Other than that it truely lives up to it's name.

Best RPG in a LONG time |
| DeathBreed from no where you know of... says (25/Oct/2002): |
This is the best RPG game i have played in a long time. I definatly give this game a 10. The only other game i have ever given a 10 was Final Fantasy 7. Both have excellent character development, unpredictability, but the one thing Dragon Warrior reins supreme on, are the endless puzzles and mazes you have to figure out to procede. I have spent countless hours playing this game and have yet to beat it. I have already filled up the counter on the menue screen i have played the game so much. This game is definatly better than any game on a new counsole could be such as Playstation 2, X Box, Gamescube to name a few. It just goes to show that you don't always need to get the newest consoles to get the best games, sometimes they are on the older ones. Such as almost any NES games beat the hell out of any new game, even though they have such bad graphics. They are still very challenging.

Definitely worth it |
| clarence somoso from Quezon City, Phillipines says (13/Sep/2002): |
Arguably, One of the best RPG's ever to be released in the playstation console. The camera system used in battles are kinda unique, because the main characters are nowhere to be seen when random battles begins. It's quite unusual for basic RPG's. The job classifications are great cause you enable yourself what kind of abilities are suited to your characters kinda like Final Fantasy Tactics. Possibly the best aspect of this game is its incredible storyline. Allowing you to time travel and search for different shards that will unlock unknown places and continents. Not to mention the "addictive" recruiting of settlers to live in your own village and enabling it to prosper to the fullest. The game consumes much of my gaming hours but definitely worth it. Forget the nasty graphics cause it's the game that counts.

Easily one of the best games on ps1 |
| *Adam D* from chester, va says (5/Aug/2002): |
Ok, let's be honest, the visuals on DW7 TRASH. But looks aint everything, and this game's a prime example. The gameplay's much more addictive than some of the best RPG's, and it lasts. Over 100 hours of solid gameplay, where average rpg's usually milk out about 40. This game gets a 10 outta 10 from me~

Awesome refreshing after playing dw1,2, and 3 |
| Matthew Hicks from Nashville TN USA says (6/Jul/2002): |
This game was awesome. The only problem was the graphics and how hard it was to find the shards to get to the next area. I first played dragon warrior 1 when I was 7 and it got me hooked on rpg. In my opinion the storyline is a lot better than the other games in the dragon warrior series. This is a must for people who like games with a little challenge but not so much where its frustrating.

Great |
| Miguelle from Rochester, USA says (6/May/2002): |
The game was unique, and time consuming. I looked past the graphics and see a good plot, with challending dungons. Each boss has a different style of fighting and the monsters keep you on your toes. The music can get annoying, but other wise its on my list of top ten psx games. Along with Legand of the Dragoon, FFVI, FFVII, FFIX, and FFChronicles.

Could have been better... |
| A gamer from New York (Alabama) USA says (23/Apr/2002): |
This game has an okay plot, but, the graphics aren't what you'd think of a PlayStation game. This Dragon Warrior at least has a different plot than all of the others that I've played so far. For me, it hasn't yet lived up to my expectations. I'l give it a 7.

Not Bad Could Have Been Better |
| Tim from Michigan, USA says (18/Apr/2002): |
Well where should I start off. This was a pretty good game. But it got boring and repetative about half way through. Finding islands and what not wasnt too bad at first but if you miss 1 shard thats when the fun starts *hint of sarcasm*. Oh I just love wasting 3 or more hours of game play searching over both relms looking for one little shard to continue. I mean the job system is nice but takes a while to do which means LOTS of fights! I grew up playing both Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy series. But in comparision personally I think FF is better. The CGI moves on DW7 were a nice touch but there were a couple of things I would have changed if I were making this game. First the map could have been done A LOT better. Ahhh nevermind im not gonna rant anymore. It was a fun game but it could have been better.

Not wat I expected. |
| Rob from Columbus, Ohio, USA says (9/Apr/2002): |
I bought Dragon Warrior 7 because as most I followed the origional series for NES. When Enix finaly came back to the US market I was excited, I waited earnistly for DW5, then it was canceled, then 6. Durring mid production Enix completly pulled out of the US. When Torneko was released, you could guess my excitment. But also I was disapointed with the game. I loved DW4 for the great story line and was anxious to see DW 1-3 on Gameboy, which I have and beat. But I was hoping DW7 would move to the DW4 type game and be as complete as it was. It isnt. DW7 starts slow and as always, you need an guide book to get threw the game. (Remember to buy one if you get this game) It's a nice step in DW evolution, but I think it's a step sideways. DW4 has such a better story and cant wait for it's release. DW7 isnt verry action packed. Actualy all the action beging at the ned of the first disc when Keifer... well, I wont spoil it, but I will tell you this, when Keifer and Maribel part, the game starts to take meaning, and not till that point! This game is faster than DW3 but slower in the story line, and there is some typo's and really boring tedious missions that didnt need to be in the game. If you look for investment time, be prepaired for around 70 hours in the game or more, if you are patient you will like this game. Overall, I give 6 out of 10. Upside: long game, character evolution, and some really cool side games (i.e. Sim & Monster towns, not to mention the casino). Down side: allot of tedious tasks that dont add value to game or game play (i.e. moving crystals around and droping objects off a upper floor). Who will like: If you like DW, get it. If you like FF, you may not think it's as good, flip a coin.

I love this game as much as Final Fantasy! |
| Kyle R. McNally from McMinnville, USA (Tennessee) says (14/Feb/2002): |
This game is awesome and while I am only thirteen years old, I played the earlier games on NES and was surprised that the game had not come out on the playstation yet. But I am glad I was able to join in the fun at the same time as everyone else. While I only have Thirty hours in(rented it) I am very eager to get to the mysterious king that collects tiny medals and find the new boss's. The ONLY thing I have against it is that IV was about killing an evil dragon (typical but fun) and VII is about saving a bunch of islands that disappeared in the past. Food for thought or not?
P.S. Could someone send me a list of shard locations Please?

A long awaited return |
| Bob Streleckis from Cinnaminson, NJ USA says (29/Dec/2001): |
When I was younger, I used to play the Dragon Warrior series on my NES. Almost every weekend was literally filled with hour after hour of playing Dragon Warrior. Sometimes the game would just stop working because we played from sun-up to sundown. But as the years progressed, it was time to move on to better systems and leave the 8-bit NES to Funcoland. I missed playing the Dragon Warrior series for quite some time now, so naturally I was set salivating as soon as I heard that Dragon Warrior VII would soon be here. I looked at all the screen shots and read all the reviews just waiting to play the game. Then came the day that I bought it. I told my girlfriend that I was tired and broke away from her two hours early just so that I could get home and play it. I'm so glad that I did too! The gameplay is exactly as I remember it, from the music to the four sprites following in formation, even right down to the fantastical monsters that inhabited the land. At first, I thought that I would hate the new 3-D environments...thinking that it would be too much like Breath of Fire 3&4. But I found that the Dragon Warrior world was truly held in tact. I have now spent well over 100 hours playing the game and I'm ready to face the final boss, but I'm enjoying it so much that I don't want to do it yet. I think that the improvements to the character classes is impressive and I've found myself spending extra hours just to change all of my classes around. I'm looking forward to the re-release of Dragon Warrior IV so that I can spend many more nights and weekends in front of the tv killing time and babbles at the same time
