Hi im the final fantasy master and have completed 5,6,7,8,9,10
I found that final fantasy 8 was probably my favourite but ff10 was not far behind i really enjoyed the game and the only thing i didn't like was the fact that they don't have any voices.

This game rocked but it will never be as god as VII which is the best yet . Final Fantesy VIII still rocks it has great graphics and a good range of characters. I reckon if they put Final Fantesy VIIs story sort off and VIIIs graphics and IXs character range they will make the best one yet.

Dang. Now I am a guy who usually writes about games that I love but this game sucked so badly I had to warn others about it. Wow. What a sucky game. I did not think anyone could suck up a game so badly. The graphics absolutely sucked. The Characters sucked. The abilities sucked. The battle system sucked. The gameplay sucked. The storyline sucked. Woah, this game sucked. Now I do not know why they allowed Square to be on drugs while making this game but I do know one thing, a game so bad should not be allowed in this world. Now I personaly think they should have done the same thing as they did for Final Fanaty 9. That game dominated. But Final Fantasy 8 was very, very, very disappointing. My God. So for all you Final Fantasy lovers I beg you to not try this game ever, ever, ever. Or you may find yourself never playing an Final Fantasy game again. Saying once again, this game is a disgrace. Well I still have 29 words to fill so I am just gonna speak out some more about the game. I don't know why in the heck they game testers put this game past inspection. Holy crap! All the games in the world should be destroyed.

Worst.Game.Ever.FFVII is still my fovourite ff game.8 is a total disaster.like,it had the worst story,GF's made it WAY TOO EASY,characters were bad,junction was weird,everything was SO blurry,the weapon upgrades were dumb,the card game was lame(9s was good though),Square failed to make a good love story,there was no front row or back row in battle like 7 and 9 had,characters moved sorta slow in battle,the sound when you attack sounds like someone $#< remove me > at !ting,the space scene was lame,spells did extremly low damage(fire3 in ff7 did like 2000-3000 damage and firaga(ff8)did about 200-300 damage if you were lucky),the characters looked about as big as buildings,everyone was so skinny,the personality of the characters were pretty stupid,a bunch of cool characters(the only cool characters to me were seifer and laguna)were not playable,the SeeD thingy was stupid,the fact that the 2 other characters you had in your party(besides squall)copied whatever you did was annoying,there was no materia or jobs,the characters looked gay,the battle graphics were bad(infact,i believe that ff7's battle graphics and squat-like graphics are better than all of ff8's graphics(except the movie scenes)),it wasnt very customizable,the junction COULD MAKE EVERY CHARACTER EXACTLY THE SAME,you can play the game once and return it to the store in a few hours and finnaly,THIS GAME SUCKS.
IT SUCKS.THERE YOU HAVE IT PEOPLE,THIS GAME SUCKS.There you have it,i just made a list of a bunch of reasons why this game sucks.like i said,THIS GAME SUCKS.
THIS GAME IS A RIPOFF.
BUY IT,PLAY IT,RETURN IT.

hi Cloud Strife.i read your review.when i read it i didnt believe you...but boy,i am an ff fan and i thought that no ff game would ever suck...until i actually BOUGHT ff8 for myself.like you said its a ripoff.theres no mp,junction is dumb,characters were bad....and everything you said is true.everybody who believes me(if someone besides Cloud Strife reads this)is right.now about when i bought it....well its everything Cloud Strife said.i agree with him.i cant wait for ff7-2.7 is my fave ff game.i thought 8 would be better.....but no,it was the worst ff game ever.for those of you people who say something like "ff8 is bloody brilliant!" then your not a true gamer.8 is nothing but CRAP.its the worst thing square has ever made......................................well i guess that all i can say is that ff8 sucks and that it is everything that Cloud Strife says it is.this is a disaster. This game was one of the worst games i have played. The graphics were good but the game was bad. Final Fantasy VII i think was so much better because the creators didn't put as much effort into the graphics as they did with the story and thats what made FF7 a huge hit, unlike this lame game. If you have not yet played this game do not waste your money even renting it. Go out and get FF7 instead.

I would have to agree with the one other review which shares my oppinion. The only good things in this game are:
Graphics ( 10/10 ) Fantastic graphics, way better than FF7 will ever be. At least in FF8 peoples arms don't pop out of the backs like in FF7.
Battles ( 4/10 ) The battles are just the same as any other Final Fantasy.
CG Cinematics ( 11/10 ) Awesome Cg's! These are the best parts of ANY game!
But then there's the storyline . . . . . . ( 0/10 )
The storyline sucks. What kind of people would FORGET that they all went to the same orphanage and would FORGET that the enemy was their matron? Whu would GFs make you forget stuff? What is wrong with these people? Whoever wrote the storyline of this game was either really lazy or really stupid.
Then we have sound ( 8/10 ) The sound got really repetitive.
Gameplay ( Errr . . . it's okay, 7/10 )
Lifespan ( It got good until the screw up in the stroyline 5/10 )
Originality ( 10/10 the storyline is crap . . . but original )
Value ( 0/10 )

I hated this game so much. It's storyline was horrible. What a boy and his posessed girlfriend. FF7 and FF9 were the best ones ive played for playstation , but FF8 was just awful. The graphics were ok and so were the summons but the game doesnt grab your attention. AS i said before FF7 and FF9 are the only ones worth buying because FF8 is just a ripoff. The juctioning and use of magic werent any good and towards the middle of the game you just want to quit because the story was so lame. I've been having debates with my brother that Cloud or Zidane can kill Squall without a problem. I mean look at his weopon , a gunblade , Cloud can whoop him just with the buster sword. Man i even think squall is gay the best things about this game is the summons graphics and cut scenes. Also Laguna Kiros and seifer were the best characters in the whole game . I'm tellin ya guys this game is nothin good. Especially the ending , youd hope for something happy and exciting since the game was sucky but nooo. If someone gives me this game for christmas or somethin id rather stomp it into the ground. that is why i give it only one star just because cluod can beat Squall up and piss on him when hes dead. Oh and remember that Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children is coming out soon so get ready to watch it.thats my review about this game and i think you shouldnt waste yur time playin it ( especially the half hour floating in space )PEACE
