I so love this game the gf's are so awesome. My friend got me addicted to this game and now I am on the fourth disk. I think defeating adel is the hardest so far.I think seifer is such a jerk pushing rinoa to become one with adel when rinoa actually liked seifer at one time. My friend has final fantasy 10 and its so awesome I love it LuLu is so cool and Una is too. I can't wait to see part 2 of 10..I recomend you get 8 and play it. 8 kicks butt...

I really like this game! its really awesome, and i love the characters, except Irvine. i think he is a jerk. the music is really cool and it has a really cool storyline, but i have to say that i liked ff7 better. 7 had an amazing storyline and stuff. 7 is definently the best game ever!!! ive also played 10, but i thought it was kind of retarded how the people acatually speak. 8 is my second favorite game, but it got really hard on the third disk when you have to fight adel. the graphics are awesome, and i agree with shorty that it was kind of gay when they blamed the memory loss on the GFs. i guess i am kind of a geek when it comes to ff games, oh well. i love this game!!! oh and if anyone can tell me how to get past adel, e-mail.

this game has got it all!!!it may be old but you would never know! just look at the graphics! the plot has a meaning unlike most games!infact it has lots of storys behind it! you get to junction magic spells rather than mp!call upon gf's-great entities of power and interact with loadsa scenery give this supreme game a go and im sure by the time you've seen the opening movie clip i can guarantee you'll be hooked...!

I was totally blown away! This game rocks. The graphics are good, the charaters are astounding. Square has outdone themselves to the limit! The love between Rinoa and Squall was breathtaking, and so was the many twist and turns. This game kept me on my toes! I can't wait to see FFX2 or FFVII2!!! *jumps*

Ok, as you've probably guessed by my title, I hate Rinoa. She is a preppy spoiled brat, and I feel sorry for Squall to having to put up with her presence. Now that that's out of the way, on to the game itself. I thought this game was really fun, with lots of in-depth characters and a great script, but there was one thing that seriously drove me nuts. Of course, I'm talking about the magic. WHAT WAS THE POINT OF THAT!?! I'd be fighting some huge thing with 20,000 hp, and I'd cast, oh...let's say Ultima, and that would do, like, 250 damage. Ooooh, he's hurtin' now. The only things that actually worked in battle were the GF's and the characters..oh, what are those called? Those special skills they can do. Squall's Lion Heart was a reeeeeally good one; in fact that's mainly what I used to beat Ultimecia (A long and very very very hard thing to do) And I really still have no idea what happened at the end. I'm so confused.

This game rocked but it will never be as god as VII which is the best yet . Final Fantesy VIII still rocks it has great graphics and a good range of characters. I reckon if they put Final Fantesy VIIs story sort off and VIIIs graphics and IXs character range they will make the best one yet.

youre gonna luv this one its originality is excellent the graphics and movie clips are shere masterpieces and the characters seem so real you will get lost in the plot and all the imaginative storylines behind this game! no other final fantasy could compare and i have all up to 10 so i should no you just wait till you see the opening movie clip...out of all the ps2 games and all the others i choose final fantasy 8 and will stand by that! no other game could have such an impact on you no other game could make you cry when you see characters in near death circumstances or when raine dies...but hey its not all sad but that is all im saying you'll have to complete it first and if you get stuck just email the master! ENJOY! :-) x

need i say more?! this game is a beauty a sheer masterpiece!perfect in every aspect what other game could make you so involved that you cry when you see characters(in the perfect smooth and detailed movie clips!) in near death circumstances? what game has so much to offer that it'll keep you coming back for more?although in the end its your choice but all i can say is it will always be my fave game ever even more so than 1,2,4,5,6,7,9,or even 10! so if you get stuck cuz theres loadsa hidden parts etc just email the master! ENJOY! x

how do you defeat Malboro he strikes first everytime how do i kill him??? He hits me with so much none of the characters move is there a way to defeat him???? Also i need Malboro Tenticals to get DoomTrain how do i do this if he keeps killng me. Also FF8 is awsome i can not put the controller down my husband gets mad cause i never come to bed anymore lol

This game was awesome!!! I have not played a game so good in the series! FF7 the graphics kinda of didn't catch my liking, FF 9 was ok, and FF10 was awesome!! ^_^ Likes: The music in this game was cool, and I liked the characters. The limit breaks were awesome(Lionheart is awesome) I have seen lionheart but my main weapon right now is the Shear trigger but with 100 Tornados junctioned to my STR. i kick some major butt! The GF's are awesome. I like Bahamut ( i think Cactuar is funny) 8I So i strongly recommend you play this awesome RPG!!!!
P.S. I don't think any dislikes were stated, but can you 2X check??

I can't really recommend this game, and you knowwhy? This story' character such as Zell, Selphie, Quistis Laguna, Ellone, they are't centered much. You know I prefer the minor one rather than the ill-headed Squall. And the childish Rinoa.
They story is a-okay but it Squall that make the whole thing destroyed. And I mean it. Don't buy it if you aren't sure! I love the minors than the main, and sadly the minors don't really have any background. During the story, I found one part that sickens me, they just suddenly said that they are from the same ophanage. This made me hard to accerpt, this utter unlogic. But the ending's great and that's the part I like ,oh yeah the songs are great too. One more thing, just like everyone said the the grphics great, but I ain't too keen about it.cuz for me it don't affect me.That's the reason why I love ff7 more than any ff series.In the end, I don't like it.

I found that final fantasy 8 was probably my favourite but ff10 was not far behind i really enjoyed the game and the only thing i didn't like was the fact that they don't have any voices.

I absolutely love this game! I havn't played FF IX or X yet, but I don't know how they'll sum up to this one. The graphics are excellent, and the music makes you not want to put it down. This game is fun, especially pulling off some of the limit breaks. The Guardian Forces rock, as they enhance your character into an ultimate fighting machine. The only thing I didn't like was the whole SeeD Rank and Money Issue. Other than that this is an awesome game that you will play for hours on end.

Final fantasy 8 wass a great game both story wize and graphics wise. how ever it had a few down falls mainly the hole money thing personaly i like to earn my money the old fashion ff way.. ff 8 was far better then ff9 was i mean come on people i thought the point was to make the game look as real as posable.but in ne case it paild in comparison to Finale fantasy 7 then came finale fantasy X which in my opion is un matched.well there is one eception i doubt ne body will agree wit me but my all time fav and the game that got me hooked on the Final series in the first place }final fantasy 2{ ps: cant wait for final fantasy X-2 and final fantasy XI to come to the US. pss:: what ever happend to ff 4-6 seems like they skiped a few.

This is the best game ever made for any game console. Nothing even came close to having a plot as good as Final Fantasy VIII. After watching some one show me how to play i got addicted to the game. I could not stop playing it when i got it my self. The thing that maid me like this game the most is that it is a actual challenge. It took me 7 days to get to the final boss but when she transforms into the gf i get a whooping. That is really i got addicted to it. I kinda winged until then but then i went back and got all the gfs i could, and the amazing Final weapon for each person. It was hard but really fun cause i got to max out all the gfs levels. They also have all the elements which is pretty awesome and unlike 9 they dont make up magic that really does not make sense. The thing i hate about the game is trying to get to the ultimate weapon every step i take i get into a fight and it takes to long so i just turned the game off.
Overall rating: BEST GAME EVER

this game is the hardest and best ffa game yet. altough everyone says ffa 7 is better i realy dont think it is. but there is one problam with this game the cards take to long to get. if u want a hard ffa to beat you want this one. the only ffa that come close to this one is ffa 7. i think this is one of the best games availble.

my favorite thing about this ff is the GFs and how they can learn abilitys that can help you like hp 20,and others.i also like the card games. And the abilyity to upgrade your weapons and spells. Out of all the ff,s i have played this is by far the best.

I Love this game, it took me a wile to get going but once I did i couldn't stop. I am on almost done with it exenpt for I am stuck on Mobil type8. I love the GFs and the weapons, and of coures the characters. FF8 is the best game ever,(also FF9).

I really liked 8, i haven't beat the last boss yet, but the rest of the game is cool. The graphics are right up there with 9(the best), and the gameplay and plot are different. The junction system is a little hard at first, but later on it can be a real help. The thing I didn't like is the weapon upgrades, they took forever! This is one of the hardest games I've played, but very fun. I would recomend this game to anyone who likes RPGs.
