One Of My All Time Favorties |
| Adrienne from Indiana Usa says (23/Feb/2005): |
I love the Anthology collection!! It was amazing! After I played FF8 ,which was the first game I played in the FF series, I became a huge fan. But I never played a FF game on the NES or SNES. Basically, I played them all backwards and random. And it was a real pain to get my hands on FFA. But after I finally did
manage to get it and actually play it, I relized what I missed out on. The FFA collection was so incredible!! In FFA there are 2 games (I'm sure everyone knows that), FF5 and FF6. But I'll start with FF5. Let's start with the storyline. For a SNES game
it had a very good storyline. Sure it's not like storylines in todays FFs, but it was a really good story to say the least. The battle system was pretty much the same in every RPG at that point
in time. But what took me by complete surpise was that to use different abilities you had to change jobs. This strongly reminded me of FFX-2! And I sure those who have never played this game and those who DID play FFX-2 are probably thinking "How do you firgure that?!!". Well, just like in FFX-2
you had to change in different outfit that gave you different jobs and to get different abilities by wearing them in battles.
Plus, which I thought was so cute, the outfits for your characters all looked different from one another. But unlike
FFX-2, your whole party wasn't all girls and you had more outfits
and jobs then you had in FFX-2. And your outfits came from pieces
of shattered crystals and not spheres. For a old SNES game, it was really good and definitly worth playing. Now the moment that
I be waiting for, FF6!!! I...LOVE...THIS..GAME!!!!! This game is
my 2nd favorite game next to FF8. I love the storyline to this
game and the characters. Even on the SNES the characters are very detailed. I love the music. The music had so much depth
and it was so moving. I love the battle system and that you had more then 10 memebers. And that some of them were additional characters like Mog. The ending for the game is one of my favorites. I say that if you're a big fan of the FF series you should definitly give this game a try!!

The Name Sells The Game |
| Dan from London says (19/Jul/2002): |
I love final fantasy. So as soon as i saw the game I bought it! I didn't even look at the case i just went straight to the checkout desk. It was great value because it had FF4 and FF5 in one. Final fantasy games are fantastic so everyone buys them. FFA is an excellent game and lives up to the reputation of Final Fantasy games but it has a few downfalls. The graphics are terrible. If youve ever played on a gameboy color then you will be used to the graphics on FFA. If you look past the graphics (which are around ten years old) you will see a great game that if you give it a chance it has great potential. Final fantasy games are made great by the lifespan, the music, the gameplay and the storyline. If you want a good RPG for the playstation go straight for Final Fantasy. Final fantasy games are usually around 3 disks long so the lifespan is great. FFA has only one disk for 4 and one disk for 5. But this is probably because less graphics means less memory needed. So this game has a huge lifespan. Ive been playing FF4 for 6 hours now and i don't think im anywhere near completing it. The music also is a good point. With atmospheric pieces played at your every step. From fast frantic battle music to slow, sad music when one of your crew dies. The storylines are great. FF4 is about an evil wizard taking over a cities airships and using them to steal powerful crystals from all over the world. FF5 involves many plots such as meteors, princess's and dragons. Theres so much in these games you have to play them to realise it. Ride chocbos, battle monsters, train your people, meet strange and wonderful creatures all in one game pack. If you like RPGS then this game is for you!

My Favorite Game ever!!!!!!!! |
| RPG MASTER OF ALL TIME from Sweeny, TX, USA says (23/Dec/2000): |
They finally did it!!! The greatest RPG, Final Fantasy VI, has finally risen to Playstation!!! This ultimate game has great graphics (for the time) and completely incredible music!! It is a superb example of the meld between great storyline and great gameplay!! Plus bringing Final Fantasy V with it was truly masterful. We are able to see where games such as Final Fantsy VII and VIII drew ideas from. Final Fantasy Anthology has allowed those that enjoy early RPG's more than new ones a chance to keep these two classic games in their modern collection. A MUST OWN FOR EVERYONE WHO ENJOYS RPG'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have a great day, and PANCREAS!!!!!

The best of the best |
| Ben(aka "tuna") from New York says (27/Dec/2002): |
If you have read any of my previous reviews on the ff games then you know I give them all 10s(I doubt my review would stick in your memory or that your care) but FF Anthology rises above the rest because of FF VI which happens to be my favorite final fantasy game and when the added a great FMV sequence I instantly fell in love. Anthology should be played by people who were brought in late in the series(7 ^) because this is true final fantasy. It's a mix of everything we love - charecters, gameplay, sidequests and story. Please if you don't have this game then buy it for God's sake.

What can I say? |
| Wargod from Annan,Scotland says (11/Aug/2002): |
I'v played FF7,8,9 and the story the graphics are brill but 4 and 5, crap, 10 year's old say what you like I think charm. the game play and lifespan is endless. I'v been playing FF4 for 15 hours and FF5 for 20! and I'm think am no where nere the end of ether. The music adds class to an all ready class game. This game is the jewle in my RPG crow. A must for anyone who loves Final Fantasy or RPG's

the best game ever |
| Damian from Edmonton,AB,Canada says (4/Nov/2003): |
i have liked ff3 when it first came out, and now that it's on psx i'm in heaven. ff6(ff3) is by far the best game in the ff series( better than ff7 i believe). along with this classic work of art is ff 5 in which you can see how the japanese class system was evolved. in short. with both these games together sony has produced possibly the best game in storyline ever to be produced.
