for all you escudo fans whom think that the Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak is fast... get the Toyota GT-One, it IS faster, try it out on max speed test, anyway, ALL the GT games own, GT 1 was amazing, but GT 2 rox, the amount of cars, the graphics, the gameplay, only thing that beats it is GT3 on the PS2, but GT2 is THE best game on the PS1, so GET IT

it has the best cars ever,fastest and even if you never liked to play car racing games and you play this game it will be the only game you play again in your life.PLAY IT IS THE GREATEST GAME IN THE WHOLE WORLD. first i even hated racing games but after my best frind got me to play it i stayed playing it for at least 3 hours straight and the game is so realestic not like other car racing games like when you just get to pick any car you want but in grand turismo you have to buy your cars and have to have different licens to race in certain type of events.UHH IT IS SO COOL

Gt2 is almost the best racing game I have ever seen.I play it every day. This game is very unique in its own special way.I love the fact that you can pump your car up till it blows its own doors off.Escudo is a very good car . So is the Drag. But have you ever heard of TVR's Speed 12. You must acess this car by winning the big races but Im not sure which one. I first saw this car skimming through my garage. I tested it out and it blew my mind.If you drive this car correctly it will hit 240mph. It is not the best looking car but its fast. So you Escudo lovers check out the Speed 12 maybe you will change your mind. Oh! I forgot about the Drag. That car is also fast but check out the sterring. Well I hope you gamers have fun but listen to my advice. I have a game to beat!

this is the best racing game i have ever played in my life you can do almost everything you can do in real life with a car it has alot of cars.i played GT3 too but the bad thing is that it doesnt have any muscle cars and only has like 200+ cars and the only bad thing about GT2 is the graphics because ive already gotten used to the graphics of xbox & ps2.

I play Grand Turismo 2 like every day. I have Over 8million credits and the fastest cars in the game. My fastest car,and the fastest in the game, is the Escudo Pikes Peek Version (susuki) I challenge anyone who thinks the can beat me. This game is the best racing game I have ever played. I have completed 99% of the game i have one more race to finish and it is the susuki eveny. Well i got to go complete that race now. peace out.

The fastest car in the game is earned in: special events,tuned turbo cars, and test course. The car is a [R] HKS R-33 drag w/ 1011 horse untuned.EPPV is gone. p.s.[R] stands for racing specs. Also: 1rst in this race wins 50,000 credits. Gran turismo 2 is really cool and I am trying to get GT3!!!!. Keep playing the game and enjoy

to me the most badass lookin car car and most fun to drive has gotta be the supra rz. not that fast off the line but at about 2 gear those 2jz's really kick in. but i gotta agree the quickest car is the escudo pikes peak version. that car takes home the whole damn cake. thats all i play after i get home from football practice i head right to gt2. but its all about good old fashion american muscle. especially the 68' shelby gt500. most bitchen car out there. charger,cuda,corvette,camaro,challenger. all the best. thats why this game diserves a 10.anyone that doesnt agree.blow me.

Gran turismo is great because it has a ton of cars, tracks, etc. Here you can learn a lot of the cars and the cars have a lot of specific aspects and details. In the game there are a lot of cool cars like the viper concept car, Toyota gt-one, Ford gt40, etc. The sounds are great and the graphics are kind of week but there good enough to buy this game. If you hear the game, you can hear the engines sound diffrent in each car. In conclusion I have to say that nobody is ever going to beat gran turismo series.

I was very pleased with the sequel to GT and I loved the graphics and details to death. The controls are tight, loose, and comfortable and each car handles realisticly. The music isn't neccesarily my type, but the jazz music is ok. This game is for sure a classic in my eyes and it stands higher than GT3 in popularity.
The UPS:
Lots of fast, pretty, and rugged rally cars to choose from
A whole lot of fun courses
Sim mode is better than the first one
Arcade is more arcadish
Graphics of cars, course, and the banners are smooth and swift
The Downs:
Two player mode is too slow and boring
The close-ups on cars during a replay are very glitchy and cheap looking
Way too many useless cars(I can't figure which cars to buy sometimes)
The music is very sucky, but I do like the poppy jazz music
The Arcade is too hard
The pit stops can cause u to lose an endurance race

never has there been a simulation game that has ever offered the variety and diversity of cars, never has there been a game that offers so many cars, so many options, and so many modifacations. i have played almost every racing game ever put out. on almost every console, and there is never, and will never be anything close. not even gt3, what it makes up in graphics it looses in the ability to buy used cars, and isnt that what gran turismo is about? the ability to buy a ten thousand dollar car and make it go 200 mph? in every day life people drive honda civics and deck them out with turbos and intercoolers and stuff, in gran turismo i have gone through at least ten civics, all of witch have at least 300hp. i love the fact that every car is so true to life. supras and skylines do have 270-280 hp in real life. but the prices are kinda high in some places, actually there kinda low in others now that i think about it. the prices of mods are kinda high too. 74000 for a number four turbo upgrade? and why cant you put old rims back on your car? you seem to loose them when you buy new ones, oh well. it seems to me that if it had a few more tracks. and a slightly larger selection of mods, and a few more cars (theres only one eclipse and two camaros) and if it had a couple of ferarris and bugattis and lamborghinis it would be perfect. the only thing i have seen to come even close is tokyo extreme racer zero on ps2. if you dont already have it its 20, and its very good, the point is, if you like cars. buy gt2, if you want to buy a own a viper and dont have 45000, buy gt2. its the closest thing to actually having the car. my baby '99 nissan skyline R34 GTR V-spec, twin turbo AWD, 774 hp. the escudo gets boring after a while, who needs to go 240 mph huh? at least the toyota GT-one is only rear wheel drive, so at least it is somewhat of a challenge, anyone know of a car that will beat my GTR? tell me, excluding the escudo and the GT-one.

gran turismo 2 is the greatest simulation game ever, it has everything a car enthusiest would want, it has muscle cars. the specs are almost perfect and the driving is great. in real life skylines have 280 hp though. and the escudo is only one engine. other than that the reality of the game is perfect. its like you do have ten vipers in your gerage. every time i turn on my tv to play it i get exited.

I've been playing video games since 1975 and Grand Turismo 2 is by far the most realistic driving game I've ever played! It has a few bugs in it like --NEVER SAVE AFTER TESTING YOUR CAR!!! your data will be gone. I learned that the hard way. the other bug is cool you can test your cars top speed at (motor sports land) you turn around after the 2nd turn hug the wall then get on the road must be on road when going into the black abiss. its hard but, if you get ALL GOLD on ALL LICENSE TEST you get a cool car for each license.never owned a game genie so that was tough!! i love the test course time trial as of now escudo is my champ with 43.951 lap. I'm shure i'll have it beat it the next few days. I've had the game for about 2 yrs. now and i still love playing it. not bad graphics for the playstation. but it's the realism and handling for each car that makes Grand Turismo 2 the ultimate Driving game!!!I hope as technology inproves on graphics in the future. we don't loose the realism that Grand Trismo 2 gives us today!!!

Now that I have you attention...go out and get this game if you have not done so already!!!. Graphics, Sound, Gameplay, Lifespan, Fun Factor and Originality all get a solid 10/10. I guess the only real worry is how Sony will come up with a game on the same concept but that leaves this particular one way,way behind (GT3 & GT4...etc?) without spoiling the GT image the way some sequels have done in terms or originality & graphics and have become repetitive clones of a game that stands out!.Disappointing isn't it!?. But this game, without sounding repetitive myself, is one of the finest and entertaining games available. You can not get a better racing game than GT2.'Nuff said!

GT 2 is quite truly the very best racing game ever. After I played it on a friend's PSone, I went out and bought a memory card to save my cars and setup--even before I had bought my own PSone! When i finally had my own system, I began to explore the limits of the game until I had won every single gold medal on every single race--simulation and arcade mode. One of the best things I did was win the Escudo(best overall car of the game). When you're drivin' the Escudo, nothing even comes close! Well, did I quit after I had conquered--oh no. One of the greatest things about GT2 is the wide variety of new & used cars. If you the big money races, you get an expensive trophy car which you can then sell to build up your GT2 empire. I had long since been forced to start "weeding out" my stable since I had reached the limit of 100cars and my cash was knocking on 2 Million when I decided to see what the GameShark-lite had to offer. It didn't seem like it was going to be worth the money when I first installed it, but then I noticed some strange affects it had on some of my cars. I own a Nissan 180 drag car; the GS lite made the little Nissan handle VERY strangely. When you nail the throttle, the car does a wheelstand 1st gear, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, & 5th--also very hard to drive. Also, my Spoon Civic will not turn--at all. If you try to steer, the car simply slides to the side of the screen--very disconcerting since I really love my Spoon. One other benefit of the GS-Lite is unlimited money-now my cash is more than I can count--and more than you can spend. You also get all the licenses-mostly all gold trophies. If you decide to go back and get gold on the ones GS lite had bronze in, you can win a Spoon S-2000. I now have 200 cars(2 memory cards-about to start 3rd)among which are all the special versions, the other cars are race versions(where available) and all are tricked out to the max- every option on every car. You ask, "When will it stop?" never! I am more excited about GT2 now than ever. Sure GT3 has better graphics and stuff , but give me the GT3 graphics with the GT2 selection of cars. GT2 is the standard by which all other racing games are measured. PERIOD

The graphics were excellent for its time.7/10
The sound was more than fine creating a more competitive environment. 8/10

OK well this is the best game ever. I love it. Its so addicting like on how if you want a car and you need 50,000 you'll race till you got 100,000. Yeah but I just wanted to let everyone know the best car in the game. It is the Susuki Escodu Pikes Peak Version. It has 991 horse power and it is 4-wheel-drive but its 2million dollars. Well catch you on the flip side. O Yeah if you dont agree on the Susuki being the best car, email me and tell me what is?

the best in driving simulation ever! No matter how many new race games that come out none of them can compare with the entirity of gt2. Whether your an ace(me) or a novice you still learn something new everyday. For example-tunign the GT90 to perfection i learnt my tune only worked for closed tracks, after thrashing it around super speedway and spinning out on corner 2. No matter what you do, you just cant get it to turn that one (unless you go into a reverse angle rear wheeled power slide into the turn and pull the difference into the apex of the corner he he). I have won ALL the races possible on the game and own ALL the special cars and prize cars ,even licence cars (except the darn gtone 99 on the all gold super licence...(Cerumo CDMA one Supra being my fav) and no matter how much i play it i neva get bored of it! throw another one of this kind my way anytime Sony!!

How do you describe greatness? That is the greatness of GT2. This game is better than the original (even if the licence is easy) but the game has everything I wanted from the first and more. The graphics are better, the computer is tougher, and there is a broader selection of vehicle makes and models. My favorite is the Special NSX and the PUMA 3000GT. All you could want is in this game including endurance and rally racing. If anyone has a PS this is the first and only game they need. It is the king of all games.

Grand Turismo, in my opinion, is one of, if not the best racing games ever made for PS1. The graphics, from the cars, to the race courses are simple brillant! Their are so many great looking and fast cars to look at and by it should be considered a crime! Not only is this game fun, challenging, and entertaining, but it is also very realistic and at times you become so infatuated with the game that you feel as though you are really driving the cars.
It also very affordable now since it has been out for a while now and it is, in my opinion one of the best games over all for the amount of money which you spend to purchase it! Well, anyway I hope you decide to buy this game!
