VIPER IS THE KING |
| Jay from Altoona ,Pennslyvania says (26/Jun/2003): |
I think I like our cars such as the VIPER,MUSTANG,and CORVETTE I know they are not as fast but they are better at places like the seatle circut i used the viper in the all star race and I beat all the japanesse cars.
AS for the game it is the best racing game on the playstation one but I still found the graphics a little slow but the number of cars made up for most of it.

gran turismo 2 |
| kasey jones from carrollton ohio, usa says (12/Dec/2002): |
never has there been a simulation game that has ever offered the variety and diversity of cars, never has there been a game that offers so many cars, so many options, and so many modifacations. i have played almost every racing game ever put out. on almost every console, and there is never, and will never be anything close. not even gt3, what it makes up in graphics it looses in the ability to buy used cars, and isnt that what gran turismo is about? the ability to buy a ten thousand dollar car and make it go 200 mph? in every day life people drive honda civics and deck them out with turbos and intercoolers and stuff, in gran turismo i have gone through at least ten civics, all of witch have at least 300hp. i love the fact that every car is so true to life. supras and skylines do have 270-280 hp in real life. but the prices are kinda high in some places, actually there kinda low in others now that i think about it. the prices of mods are kinda high too. 74000 for a number four turbo upgrade? and why cant you put old rims back on your car? you seem to loose them when you buy new ones, oh well. it seems to me that if it had a few more tracks. and a slightly larger selection of mods, and a few more cars (theres only one eclipse and two camaros) and if it had a couple of ferarris and bugattis and lamborghinis it would be perfect. the only thing i have seen to come even close is tokyo extreme racer zero on ps2. if you dont already have it its 20, and its very good, the point is, if you like cars. buy gt2, if you want to buy a own a viper and dont have 45000, buy gt2. its the closest thing to actually having the car. my baby '99 nissan skyline R34 GTR V-spec, twin turbo AWD, 774 hp. the escudo gets boring after a while, who needs to go 240 mph huh? at least the toyota GT-one is only rear wheel drive, so at least it is somewhat of a challenge, anyone know of a car that will beat my GTR? tell me, excluding the escudo and the GT-one.

FANTASTIC! |
| Marcin Jaworski from Lodz, Poland says (31/Aug/2003): |

GT2 is briliant! Wonderful! For this game it is worth to have PS One! I rode my joypad before, but now I've bought a steering wheel. Actually it wasn't better, but more realistic. The steering wheel is rumbling every time I hit the wall or/and when accelerate! Anyway, utill now I made 98.20% and 27 gold medals in licence. I love Calibra TouringCar and Espace F1 for amazing rpm: about 14000, what a sound! And for fantastic look. But the best for me is Escudo Pikes Peek for unbelievable acceleration. Less than 3 sec. to 100km/h! GT2 authors are GODS!

TVR/PORSCHE man |
| Steven from Taylors SC USA says (29/Aug/2003): |
This game so totally rocks haha the best cars of the entire game are the Porsches (RUFs), TVRs, Vipers, and Lotuses...I've won every race with either a CTR2 sport, Speed 12, Viper RT/10, and the Esprit V8 GT, SE, and 350 Sport, plus in my opinion those are the best handling cars I've ever seen, their also some of the few that can be tuned past 400HP well more like 650 but it's ok because they still rock, the Escudo is great but the Cultus is better because it has much better handling and turning on harder courses...GET this game it's soooo much better than any racing game I've ever played

Awsome 1st Car |
| Anna Elkins from Fort Worth, USA says (26/Mar/2004): |
With the $10,000 you start out with, I shopped around and bought a Toyota Celica GT Four - RC '91, and have since upgraded it almost as much as possible (I only lack a handful of the reeeally expensive modifications, such as the Stage 3 Weight Reduction). I do not recommend touching the transmission. With the Turbo, I tried adding one of the transmission upgrades without reading through it and it dropped the speed from 158mph to 112mph. I am so glad I didn't Save with that.
These packages gave the vehicle 158mph top speed with 288hp and a weight of 2839 lbs.
Sports Suspension Kit
Sports Brakes
Brake Balance Controller
Sports Tires
Turbo Kit Stage 1
Racing Intercooler
Racing Flywheel
Carbon Drive Shaft
Performance Chip
Weight Reduction Stage 2
She can win the $6,000 purse on the Free germany track each time. I can't wait to get an actual license and start racing for REAL winnings in this thing. It OWNS the Free racing circuit. Anyone know a cheat code to get the other Licenses? I'm having major trouble completing a couple of the stupid Braking tests.

Best racing game ever |
| Marcos Medina from Ft. lauderdale, Fl. says (10/Jun/2004): |
Not a lot of racing games out there are as realistic or as addicting as this one. Couple of licenses to pass, a whopping 500-600 cars, lots of tunning options, 20 tracks and one of the best graphics on playstation. You cannot go wrong with this game. Plus what other racing games out there have as much muscle cars as this one? Superbird, Challenger, Charger, even the Shelbys, among others. Believe me, I've been playing this game since it's release and I don't get tired of it. At least not until GT4 arrives. Truly, this game has it all. Get out right now and buy it if you don't have it. Go on, shoo!

racing fanatic |
| stuart from UK says (10/Sep/2003): |
i am a nut about driving games. When Gran Turismo came out I loved it, when GT2 arrived,, I hoped only for better. Yes, that is what I got. the graphics are better, so too is the handling of the cars. It is far more realistic. Unfortunately, it does not compare at all to games on XBOX. playstation sucks in comparison. Still, the game is great and has so many races to complete before you finish the game, it literally keps u entertained for ages.I still haven't! NJOY! Stuart

Good Game, easy to make money and buy loads of cars! |
| CLAIRE from Attard, MALTA says (5/Mar/2004): |
I have five cars in my garage but my favourites are the Mitsubishi 3000GT (excellaration is great!)and the AudiTT (racing)(good excellaration and great road holding!). But I must say that the Audi is my pride and joy!! I also have a Subaru Impreza which I must say that I'm not too impressed with the performance! I'm saving up for the Venturi so I'll comment on that soon! I wish there was a larger selection for the Alpha! The Toyota Celica is quite a good car, it's the one that I started off with but I sold! Maybe I should get another and boost it up. I also bought a Mini Cooper but to be honest it was just for a laugh!!! I suggest trying it without any adjustments to the HP or anything!!!

Grand Turismo 2 is not only the best racing game ever, but the best game on the shelves for Play Station. |
| Qays Allouzi from Dallas,Texas,USA says (22/Mar/2002): |
Grand Turismo 2 is one of the best games that I've ever played. It's the most real game than any game I've played. My parents bought me the X-box, but even though I got the newest game system I still cant go a day without playing it for at least 6-7 hours a day. The racing realism on the game is better than ever. I think that this game has been the best success for PlayStation. Almost over 300+ cars on this game. Also the way that the cars are designed in this game is almost the same as a real life car. I you didn't know how a certian car had a certian power just buy this game and YOU will get the information that you want. I you want this game to be even better, than send to PlayStation that they need to continue finishing this game. Because it was only 98% completed. Leaving out songs, tracks, cars and etc. NO MATTER what kind of system of game you get after playing this game no matter what it is, you will not be able to stop playing it. So start playing it now, and try to send in letters to let them complete it. Trust me no matter what the cost of this game is going to be, even $200.99 dollars is the cost, worth buying it because you cant get sick of it.

Only tha best of the best |
| Peter Nichols from Perth- Australia says (24/Jun/2002): |
the best in driving simulation ever! No matter how many new race games that come out none of them can compare with the entirity of gt2. Whether your an ace(me) or a novice you still learn something new everyday. For example-tunign the GT90 to perfection i learnt my tune only worked for closed tracks, after thrashing it around super speedway and spinning out on corner 2. No matter what you do, you just cant get it to turn that one (unless you go into a reverse angle rear wheeled power slide into the turn and pull the difference into the apex of the corner he he). I have won ALL the races possible on the game and own ALL the special cars and prize cars ,even licence cars (except the darn gtone 99 on the all gold super licence...(Cerumo CDMA one Supra being my fav) and no matter how much i play it i neva get bored of it! throw another one of this kind my way anytime Sony!!

About the Drag |
| keith neeb from Tavistock Ontario Canada says (4/Dec/2003): |
This game isn't the best because you should be able to like build a house go to restaurants and stuff like that and you should get more then 10,000 credits at the beginning. Moving on to the Drag. It may have 1011 hp but when your driving it you have to be careful you got to have a good controller because it will turn right so you got to have your finger on the left d-pad or she'll swurve to the right, and when you take the corners (espacially turning right) you should start turn real early and i mean early earlier than normal. So personally i would stick with the Suzuki Escudo Pike's Peak Version which by the way costs 2 000 000 creds but for 999 hp with good handling and stuff i'll take for that price. another good car is the '98 Impreza Wagon WRK Sti Ver. V. If you would like to know more good cars or something else i have been playing this game long enough to know the do's and don't's so just e-mail me.

Make no mistake, Gran Turismo has returned! |
| Bjorn van Steen from Roosendaal, Holland says (19/Sep/2000): |
How do you improve upon perfection you ask..well,let me just start by saying that Gran Turismo2 more than lives up to the pre-release hype.Once again the graphics are excellent (especially those found in the replay option!)so is the killer-soundtrack for that matter!
Knowing that the first game mostly boasts Japanese cars, European fans in particular will be happy to know that most of their favorite European cars are included in this second installment! So are some American (muscle)cars for that matter!
Another improvement concerns the actual driving-physics.Experienced Gran Turismo1 players will notice these changes instantly! Especially frontwheel-drive cars now handle in a much more realistic manner.Hitting your brakes too late results in severe understeer (much more so than in GT1 !)
OK so there are more cars (590+) and the driving-physics have improved, but does that make GT2 the PERFECT racing-game, well... no,not exactly.
Like in the first game it is still possible to " easily" win races by ramming into other cars and walls.OK so there IS a damage (not visible!) option this time, but this isn't enough to
completely exclude this cheap way of winning races.A good example of collision-physics are those found in the racing-games TOCA 2 and ColinMcRae rally2.In these games you'll think twice before you start hitting walls or other competitors because most of the time you'll end up spinning of the track and thus losing the race!! Due to this fact these games provide more of an adrenaline-rush than GT2 does!
My conclusion : If you love the idea of driving fast in
a wide variety of the worlds' fastest most expensive cars (which you can make even faster by tuning them to the max!)you should go out and buy GT2 instantly!! If you are looking for a genuine
RACING experience however, you should opt for either TOCA 2 or Colin McRae rally2

One of the most complete racing games |
| yastobaal from Oxford, England says (6/Mar/2001): |
This is the best game for the playstation bar Metal Gear Solid. Full of options it can be as complicated or as simple as you like. The AI is great and the graphics are the best you can get out of a playstation.
The game takes a while to complete but it's worth it. When you buy your first car and continually update it for the best performance you don't want to sell it when it becomes out of date.

The Vecter M12 RULES!!!!! |
| Logan Sullivan from Dresser WI USA says (30/Dec/2003): |
My name is logan Sullivan and GT2 rules I bought the game 2 months ago and its sweet. Since you only get 10,000 dollars in the begining I bought the Honda de sol vol gi and on FF challenge on the first corse tt rode you win 5,000 dollars and a car thats woreth 7,000 dollars. So that 12,000 per Race! So if you do it agin and agin and agin and agin and agin and agin and agin ........ With that money I bought my first realy realy good good car the dogde viper! And that is a very very cool car so used it for a long time and up graded it a lot and I got it up to 641hp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
