The Master of Darkness | | A gamer from St. Albans, England says (21/Jun/2001): | Heart of Darkness is a fantastic game in all. It's got good graphics, sound effects that are pretty life-like for a game, and it will take you forever to finish the two discs (unless your one of those super whizz-kids at tricky games). Personaly, I haven't even got past the first disc yet (although I am not far from doing so), so it'll last a long time in my house.
The idea of a small boy ('Andy') going to rescue his dog ('Whisky') which has been accidently kidnapped by the Master of Darkness, who intended to kidnap Andy, is an origional one which has been converted into a charming story of adventure for children.
This is a fun game to play, with film clips and characters that will not easily be forgotten (my personal favourites are the 'Worm', who is the Master of Darkness's slave, and 'Amigo Amigo', who is a friend Andy meets on his travels). The one bad point in my opinion is that this is a very difficult game to play (hence I'm not past the first disc yet), even on the easiest of difficulty settings.
Otherwise, one fantastic game to be enjoyed for a long time.
| A All Around Good Game | | Keith Breazeale from Leland, USA says (29/Nov/2003): | I think that the Heart of Darkness Game from Amazing Studios/Tantrum is one of the best 2-D games for the Playstation when it hit 1998. The game has good quality graphics and seamless FMV. Here is the lowdown on the Heart of Darkness:
The Heart of Darkness for the Playstation was created in 1998 by Interplay. This game is a two disc Action/Adventure game based on a boy (Andy) in search for his dog (Whisky) who was abducted by the Master of Darkness. The game has 8 death trapping levels that are not to be played by the ones who are short-tempered or have very little patients. (I somehow survived...)
I have successfully beaten the Heart of Darkness but it wasn't easy. I have even gone all the way to create a website for the Heart of Darkness game for Playstation at heartofdarkness.biz.ly
If ya have the time check it out.
