Amazingly realistic, despite its average appearance | | Die Hard Fisherman from Illinois - USA says (13/Aug/2003): | At first, this game appears like most average fish games. The graphics are a bit grainy, and the features are typical. However, play with the Agetec fishing controller, and you experience a tremendous level of realism! Casting, reeling, and fighting fish feel just like the real thing. The game's AI is pretty good, requiring reasonable knowledge of fishing conditions, lures, etc. One nice feature is the multiple rod/reel/lure combos, which can be switched immediately during play. Another really cool feature is the replay option, allowing you to view the entire underwater fight of any fish you catch. Replays can be saved for later viewing, too. The graphics and sounds aren't top-notch, but the game makes up for that with excellent realism. The nature sounds are nice, as well as the boat sounds. The announcer is pretty funny at times, too. I have played MANY fishing games for just about every platform out there, and HIGHLY RECOMMEND owning this game WITH the Agetec controller. A must-have for any fishing enthusiast!

The included fishing pole controller gives it a sick sense of reality wether you're landin' the big one, or you're throwing back a bluegill. In 4 different lakes, ranging from an alpine mountian lake, to an urban city harbor-like lake. If you still need convincing, there's over 50 different rods, reels, and lures to find that one that'll win you the tourney! Even if you're the kind of guy that likes the game, but knows nothing about fishing, there is also a tutorial mode, so don't freak. With 14 species of fish, this game is THE best choice for PSX fishing games!!

The underwater replay after you catch a fish is not only really cool, but sharp and clear to really give you a feeling of reality!
SOUND: *9.5*
The SLIGHTLY annoying BGM will give way to an exciting, almost perfect choice, of music when you hook a fish, and otherwise, it's OK!
GAMEPLAY: *10.0*
The easy-to-control gameplay makes this game a real winner! It's real easy, so little kids I know can easly bag a 10lb. 'er!
OVERALL: *10.0*!!
I'd reccomend this game to anyone even the SLIGHTEST interested in fishing game. It'll provide hours of fun for everyone! (Including Grandma!!)
