Original plot never die |
| Uncle Jaffery from Area 51 says (14/Apr/2004): |
The plot to Resident Evil 1 was superb. When STARS enter racoon forest and end up at the mansion was a great story. Many critics complain about the loading times and poor graphics compared to RE2 or RE3.But these critics have to remember this game was the one which created a new categoary which was survival horror. It really shouldve been alone in the dark, but one gave a damn about that game , so Resident evil was chosen.
I dont recomend this game NOT to the faint hearted as there are scenes which will make you jump, also always be with a friend as they will give you advice if they spot a zombie lerking in the corner of your TV screen. This game is great and very cheap, so buy it if you havent played it. REMEMBER LIGHTS OFF, VOLUME UP!!!

resident evil :DC, was the first game that gave me alot of suspense, action & puzzle solving.
This game was superb at the time, but as for now it doesnt stand in the charts, compared to RE 2,RE 3,dino crises 2 and evil dead.
But it does make an excellent purchase if you want to know the starting of the crew and story of resident evil series.
I advice people who like classical horor films of george romero to play this game, because the mansion and costumes, zombies makes the game look as if it was made in the 70's.
if psx players dont like slow loading games, dont buy this ,i advice you, because too much time is wasted trying to get a daMN DOOR OPEN AND A REALLY SLOW CONVERSATION DURING THE GAME.
Other wise cool game.

One of the most over-rated PSX games |
| O. G. from California, USA says (12/Feb/2001): |
It reminded me of a very dated b rate detective movie, especially the intro. When it introduces us to the characters, I immediately though of the movie "Clue". It was really cheesey.
The voice acting sounds like they were reading right off a script, and had no life at all. They didn't really sound like conversations, just random comments. And did not match the mood at all.
Then there are the zombies, standard 80's horror movie fare. They were too slow to give the elements of suprise. I was really expecting to be suprised in the game. The zombies just shuffle towards you and try to bite your neck.
The levels are designed pretty well, with some very tight clostrophobic halls. It's a little too easy to get lost though, you may be wandering around awhile trying to figure out what to do.
The horror aspect of the game is fairly original, if by horror you mean over the top gore. The game is not very suspenseful, but has its few moments.

One Of The Greatest Games Ever Made |
| A gamer says (26/Dec/2000): |
This game has so many clones out there that its pathetic. Yet none of them can match the power and enthusiasm one gets from this game. The original Resident Evil is good but this takes it to the max. If you like Silent Hill, Evil Dead, Over Blood, or Dino Crisis, then you will love this game.
