When i first got this game i thought "graphics look rubbish and its probably gonna be a rubbish game as well!". Went home grabbed my kid brother(22) and started testing the game out thinking we still have 1 week before we can return it and ask for our money back. Well to cut a long story short-its been 3 weeks and we still have no intention of returning the game any time soon. At least not till we become Grand Master Ninjas in each and every quest. The game is that addictive.
Reminds me alot of M.G.Solid in the game play and abilities of the characters(but just a fraction better in gore and 2 fractions worse in graphics).
In short plus points :gore,music,gameplay,missions.
minus points:not enough character moves
graphics(very slightly)
bigger choice of weapons
A really good buy.Get it!.

If you're like me and you love games like metal gear solid where you have to sneak up to kill apponents then give this game a try. It takes place in rural japan where you choose between two characters rikimaru and ayame and you complete various missions like asassinate an evil merchant or find medicine for the emperor's daughter. You also get to use various weapons and tools that are cool. I like the poisoned riced balls, toss one out and the bad guys think they have a yummy treat, but when they eat it they get paralyzed and then slash, you cut off their head, hehe. The graphics are pretty good, a little glichy and not as good as metal gear, but good and the music suits the game perfectly. The game is fairly easy which I like, but it's a little short, it only has ten levels. All and all though, this is a cool game and one that is worth getting.

when i got the game i thought that i would not be much fun but once i sat down and strated to play it i got addicted to it and now i am a grand master on all levels but three for ayame. the game itself was very good the graphic were not the betst and they could have put some more killer moves but over all the game was good. it had good sound and a decent selection of wepons but they could have made them easier to get that baet evey level.although if you take your time and play the levels through many times you will get all the wepons and may find out some cool things. also i think the endins was a little stupid.

Ten stars go to this one! I loved the way you could come up on someone and attack without being seen! The missions were challenging and the fun factor was very high. The characters and the controls were it;s stronghold. The way you could sneak up on a guard and kill him was exellent! I cannot find a flaw in the game at all. I was entertained from beginning to end! The realistic weaponry and the ability to hide in the shadows made the game a classic! I give it ten big stars for the game without hesitation. It will keep you glued to the seat and give you monthes of enjoyment!

It is one of the best PS2 games ever it has everything you could ask for in a game. It is just so cool that you can kill people in all different kinds of ways like jumping off a house and just stabbing them in the back or cutting of there heads. Sometimes it can get hard but it is still the best game that has came out for the playstation 2. If you don't buy or like this game then you have a bad taste in PS2 games because this is a must have game so go to your nearest shop and buy this game because it is outstanding.
