How can anybody improve on Wipeout XL? Well, the people at Psygnosis really tried very hard to accomplish the feat with positive results. Wipeout 3 returns with more teams, tracks, and options like the really cool "Eliminator" mode. However, something was lost between XL and 3. XL's tracks were a bit darker and moodier. Besides the awesome downward spiral in the Great Mall track, the tracks don't offer much else. Probably the best new feature about 3 is the split-screen option (No more link needed to race a buddy). Also, opponents are a lot more aggressive and will really come after you and try to knock you senseless. However, the absolute best feature about 3 has to be the killer soundtrack, which is the trademark of the Wipeout series.
