i've been playing ps2 for more than a year now,and this rpg is one of my oldest collection (as been made more than five years ago) but somehow im still hooked in this addictive rpg created by atlus,considering its very high replay value and also it's one of the most original rpg i've ever played. The not-so impressive graphics have been overseen by its gameplay that contributes more than a hundred percent sheer enjoyment in the game! One of the strongest point of the game is its character and monster jobs which is pretty intersting and has abilities which is completely different with any other. Its character and monster levelling is simple, not boring and trully worth it; and adheres to the fact that there's no such thing as a state of perfection, for a level 30 character can possibly be defeated by a level one character. Its elements works simple and adds to the whole gameplay. Each characters have their own unique background story and personalities, that helps the character to be known and to be loved by its gamers! Plus, the soundtrack really adds to the mood of the game! It is indeed one of Atlus's masterpiece!!! I'm really hoping for a sequel for this genuine game,and in my luck i've heard that the atlus revamped this game into its optimum form! Im really looking forward to purchase my grand edition version of this game, for sure spending another months or even years playing this version would solidify the heart of a certified rpg gamer like me!!! Also, i would like the atlus to make a sequel of this game in the ps2 as it will greatly improvize the graphics and the connection to its gamers making it an RPG nearly into its perfection!!!

Brigandine is a very addictive game once you play and finish it you should feel an uncontrolable urge to play and finish it again it's simply addictive. Okay the graphics may not be ... impressive or stunning but hey its ok and everything else should make up for it anyway. The music is great it gives you a certain mood while playing it makes you feel relaxed, excited, sentimental, afraid etc. the music is perfect just perfect. The gameplay is what makes this game so great you get to play 1 of six countries with one sole objective to defeat everyone else without getting beat yourself. You also have full control over everything from your troops to your Generals you can also UPGRADE your GENERALS AND you TROOPS to make them better and stronger. This game will keep you hanging on to it for as long as your PS is alive or at least until you fisnih all the countries and get ALL the ENDINGS but even though you did fisnih everything i bet you'll try and go fisnish it again. This game has a lot of cut sequences where characters get to talk to one another some confrontations funnier than the other some a bit more serious that the other. Everything about this game is fun. Even though i gave up my copy to someone a bit less fortunate this game still has a lot value to me i'm still currently searching for a new one {someone please help me} meaning this game is extreamly valuable even though its just a game it'll become more than just a game in the future hehe you'll see. Buy it, play it, love it. and to those who are reveiwing this pls. find a way to develope Brigandine 2.

Yes, I am one of the Brigandine fans in this little world of ours but what most fans of this GOD-Given game is that their was a remake! It's called Brigandine:Grand Edition and its the best! The CG opening was replaced by a keen anime opening that just rocked my world. The characters all have voices and the game doesn't come in one disc anymore...It comes in a dual pack meaning 2 discs!!! The battles were revamped and no longer come in CG either. It's been animated so I hope you enjoy it. It also has anime video openings for each quest so expect a few new ones and their are new classes. The Killer Doll and Knight Master...obviously taken from Iria and Dinidan. Esgares is no longer hidden and he actually has an actual story. Fully selectable it gives you the opportunity to face a single man's dream to unite the continent his way(GO ZEMECKIS!!!). Magic was tweaked so that green is no longer a neutral class, Monsters gain more magic and the higher a monsters level, the more rune cost he/she will take! Everyone is given a fair chance now that moves are selectable. You can do a critical and a normal attack any time you want, All of this for a sacrifice in accuracy which comes to the best point. Accuracy and Evasion is now displayed!!! Good luck everyone! Finad a copy of this game or else you'll regret it.

Look i know people these days want a game with the upmost extreme graphics(trust me im one of them)but THIS GAME KICKS MOST OF THE OTHER RPG'S ASS'S!!!!The story line needs to be rewarded with a sequel(ATLUS MAKE ONE YOU WILL GET GREAT RESULTS!!)with the decision of what 40 characters that each have their own plot with the 6 contries you can choose!!I love this game!It has everything(except good graphfics)that a stratagy player could dream of!So what if it's an old game BUY IT!Convince ATLUS they've got what it takes to whoop the other companies asses,make Brigandine 2 on PS2 and make sure the graphfics is good ass well as the storyline!I GIVE THIS AWSOME GAME A 10 OUTTA 10 BABY!!I MEAN THE ENJOYMENT TOPS ALL THE RPG'S THAT CAN EVEN MATCH THE Final Fantasy series!I can't belive that whoever is a stratigists lover hasn't heard of this game.

A very good and interesting game.I just cant stop playing it.
It needs a good leadership because you need to handle armies and lead victories.Although its graphics is not very good, its gameplay is the best.Why? Because you need to strategize your army and you need to control great armies and lead them to victory. The sound? great! Thats why i cant stop playing it. Its musical score is great even in mono. When you buy the game, at first sight you might want to dump it.BUT if you play it often you might wanna play it forever that you cant stop. The lifespan of the game is very long. Because you have 6 kingdoms to choose from. The other kingdom is Esgares Empire. Trust me, its very good, that's why I gave it a perfect 10.

This is the best Strategy RPG game ever made.Other people didn't find it interesting because of the graphics, it's because this is one of the first wave of playstation games but still very addictive,you wouldn't notice that a day has passed by after fighting about 15 battles while sending our Rune Knights in a Quest. How come Atlus is still sitting down on their ass? Check out eBay.A copy is sold for a base price of $64,do you know what that means, they are indemand especially here in US. Why don't you just develop a sequel, now with the PS2 console, beef up those graphics and and an awesome storyline and let the engine do the rest let's see if those critics will still find an alibi that there is a flaw

Wow!!! This game really rocks!! Although this is not that famous here in the Philippines for me it's one of the few games worth playing for.This game has a very good gameplay that you will never stop until you got what you wanted and hey it's pretty exciting too coz you will encounter different changes and scenes that each country has.This game is really one of a kind and requires only wit and strategy in playing it so I gave it an impressive ten!!! so to Atlus may the good Lord keep you safe and may the force of Forsena be with you!!!

At first when I look at the gameplay and graphic, i said what kind of game is this. I stopped playing for awhile. Then when I completed all my RPG games I had I looked at this game's front cover and said I give you one more chance to impress me, and it did. As I played more,I myself familiaze with the game. The graphics may be a bit lousy but its the gameplay that really matters. The gameplay rocks!The sound is great the lifespan is long cause of 6 countries to choose from and fun for all RPG and strategic game lovers. Addictive too!

this is the best frikin game ever made(except for final fantasy 1,7, and 10)you can build almost any army you want, there is an absolutely non-linear world conquering storyline. You could do the same fight 82 times in a row and the computer will react differently each time. if atlus would make a sequel, I would buy 3 copies. if any one has a copy of the above mentioned brigandine:grand edition, i will buy it, as i cannot find its existance. this game rocks. i give it a 19 on a scale of 1 to 10.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make a Sequel... Where Dryst Finds another continent to conquer! OR SOMETHING! This game was fricken awesome Stratgy from moving units to different castles all the way to, "Geez, he is almost dead, should I attack?" I have had my game for like 5years almost and I cant put it down, I have beat it with Norgard 3times, New Almekia 2time, Leonia 2times, Icalico 4times and Caerlon 2times, And now I am going to try and beat it with Esgard Empire now that I have the cheat.

I,t has been a month since I started playing this very exciting game tha would make yopu leaning to it for a many period of time. Trust me you would never now that you,re almost playing for a couple of hours.This very fantastic game will ecxite every nerve of your body with it,s stunning music and gameplay plus the best story line though the graphics is not that great. Please Atlus create a sequel to this coz this is the bestest strategy game in the whole universe!!!!

I wasn't sure what kind og game this was when I bought it,but it was fairly cheap...and I was desperate for a new game to play. So there I had it. Whoever's just starting to play the game stick with it,I was confused at first too. This game is awesome,even though there's some 50+ characters,each one has there own story,which by the way,even though there's not much of a story too it,it's a good one to say the least. If you like RPG's of any king,buy this game...

I've been playing this game ever since it got released in 1998 and yet im still addicted to it. The gameplay is very nice. Even if the graphics aren't really good the game itself makes up for it. Guys im telling you this game kicks ass! It's like no other.. This is the only game that I played over and over and i'm not yet tired of it.. I heard there's a game called Brigandine grand edition.. I so wanna play that game someday.. For me this is the best game ever!

I was very impressed with this older game. IMO it is the best strategy/RPG game ever. It is difficult at times, and has monster and human class changes, along with item equiping and questing. The addition of a polygon view to see what the monsters look like, along with options to turn it off and make the matches fast is awesome. I can't stop playing it, although it may not be for everyone.
