One of the best games I've ever played. | | Matt Pascoe from USA says (29/Jul/2004): | Orcs, humans, and elvs almost like LOTR but better. Mining gold, chopping trees, exploding sheep it's so cool. Even with some glitches it is still cool to play. And for only 40 dollars you can play a great game with action, and adventure. Even though I don't have the game yet (I'll be getting it soon) I know it is going to be great!
| Not a bad game for all those war strategy game fans out there. | | Manethrandrelle from Moundville, Alabama, United States says (19/Nov/2001): | Warcraft 2 is a game that will hold your attention until the last Orc goes down to Elven arrows or until the last Human goes down to Troll axes.
Replay:
The replay value on this game is not as high as it should be, but with ever changing enemy tactics and a small A.I. like learning ability it can become a game that will absorb you for weeks on end. At times it may take days just to figure out a strategy that allows you to defeat the enemy.
Graphics:
I admit that the graphics of Warcraft 2 are not that high quality, but there is enough attention paid to detail, that the point comes across clear. When you see all your troops rushing in for the kill only to be wiped out, you can tell that it was a bloody battle for the field is covered in rotting bodies.
Sound Effects:
This is the one real drawback to this game. The sound effects are actually of a good quality, but the repetativeness of the unit's acknowledgement of your selections and when you have a unit built tend to get annoying, but they can be dealt with.
All in all Warcraft 2 is a game that I suggest all fans of war to get, and then to go out and get Starcraft and Starcraft Broodwar for PC as soon as possible. Not all people will agree with what I have said, but opinions are like nostrils; everyone has atleast one of them.
