We met playing and now were married! |
| DDR MOMMA from Sa Antonio, TX says (11/Feb/2004): |
DDR brought me and my husband together. We met almost 2 years ago and then married. While I was pregnant with our son I played ddr and found that it helped keep me in shape through out the pregnancy. Not only is DDR a dance game but its a place to meet new friends. The DDR people are very open ane willing to help anyone that needs it in the beginning. If your shy you can play at home till you get the courage. It really builds self esteam. Try it! Good Luck!!

DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION USA!!! |
| Gensuke from Hawaii, USA says (23/Dec/2000): |
OK you scrubs. It's time to leave the past behind. DDR USA is here and you don't have your good old Paranoia 180 to turn to. Now it's Paranoia Kcet and Paranoia Rebrith (2 in one machine!) AND they are BOTH worse than the original...Rebirth being the harder of the two. There is a new difficulty level, Catasrophic... Ever seen 9 foot songs? You will now! The difficulty is easier to change, ranging from beginner (All songs are one foot only) to Expert (least i;ve seen is a 4 foot song here)...Double is still here and hidden, but now we have sudden (Hidden backwards...as in they appear at the top of the screen) and stealth (Or Hey!!! Where the F*** are my arrows???) Mirror is available as well as little, a great crutch for newbies. There are also alot of songs on here, old favorites like Brilliant 2 U make a come back, while newcomers like Afronova and End of the Century present a new challenge for all the vets out there. Then again i saw a guy doing End of the Century on expert, double, and stealth (Imagine a song worse than Paranoia on maniac, on the double mode, with no arrows...and the player doing tricks like spinning on it.)doing it with tricks. And that guy got a 288 combo on it to...makes me sick really...So grab you shoes, get lots of cash and go find the nearest machine. You won't regret it.

DDR ROX MY WORLD |
| Marge from Canton MA says (27/Sep/2003): |
DDR has provided many hours of enjoyment for both me and my friends. It's awesome!! Its great to play either alone, with friends, and even gives an occasion to host a party. I myself have it at my own home (not the arcade style :( ) and it has completely revolutionized my life. It's a lot of work and theres always something different you can do. I LOVE DDR!!

I have loved this game since day one! The songs, the lights, the speed. Who knows whats next? This is the only game I play now and I have lost 10 pounds on this machine. I've entered tournaments and asked for tips on how to get better. I started on 3 steps and now i'm on 8. Get the good pads off the net and make your house rock! Join the nationwide revolution! Get a shirt to represent this shizzle!

Tyler Ward is a Fan of Dance Dance Revolution |
| Tyler Ward from CA, USA says (8/Oct/2000): |
This is a dance simulator in which you hit arrows(directional-buttons)to the beat of pretty catchy tunes such as: My Fire, Butterfly, Kung Fu Fighting, and many more. This is the coolest game out there, hard to come by, but well worth it. And with a Dance Pad controller, it gives us hours of fun exercise. Since it's arrival on the market in '98, it has spawned 4 separate mixes, two append disk's, and a bunch of cheap rip-off's, but none surpasses the original.

Join the Revolution! |
| Maiku from Temecula, CA USA says (15/Aug/2002): |
Pros: Exercise, the good songs
Cons: some of the bad songs, characters don't go by the steps you make
Join the Revolution!
When I first heard of Dance Dance Revolution I thought it was some stupid game of directions, flashing lights, and music. I was dead wrong.
Sure, DDR may seem like a silly game to move your body to... but it's actually more than that, much more. Most Americans who have not gotten experienced DDR or not even wanting to experience it are the kinds of people who fear the idea of moving while playing a game because we are generally a lazy and sometimes unmotivated people.
The Japanese are opposite of us, meaning that they are workaholics and like to interact with whatever they do.
Even so... most of the American public (mostly young adults) have joined the growing by the day community of "DDR Freaks"; making arcades places to show off, freestyle, or just have a goodtime. Much like Japanese arcades, which are places where young couples go on dates or hangout with friends (arcades are very popular in the Land of The Rising Sun).
Back to DDR, it's a very addictive game can actually be played for hours on end; but not to be played on hot summer days without a fan or water. If you fail the first time you play, it's not a problem... everyone isn't good at DDR the first time they play.
Just loosen up, give it your best, and get ready to have fun!

Ready to sweat? |
| Alex Kropp from Toronto, Canada says (17/Oct/2000): |
I love this game, no doubt about it. But if you're lazy then don't bother. This game takes a heck of alot of energy to play, especially once you get good (I'm intermediate myself). Like the title would indicate, this is a very sweaty game. The worst would be the infamous Paranoia 180, so make sure you've got extra shirts and a towel on hand. And once you've beaten all the songs, you've really only just begun. You still have to work through Another mode (intermediate) and Maniac mode (which speaks for itself). To add to the fun is Double mode (which uses two pads to play) and a slew of other enhancements that can be turned on and off. Replay is nearly infinite. I mostly play this game in the arcades, and I've literally spent hundreds on it. I can't wait for the proper North American release in January!

WHEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! I'm hyperhyperhyper playing DDR all night! And losing calories too! WHEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
| Hatless Emi from Somewhere,USA says (10/Aug/2001): |
Dance Dance Revolution is the game to kill all other music games just because of the fact that it does a lot more than giving you entertainment. The first part is it gives you great music from bands NOT in America. Me and My, the makers of 'Dub-I-Dub', originate from England, while some artists, like Naoki and Scotty D., make their own songs to put on DDR (as in *coughTHEYWORKTHEREANDMAKESONGSTHATSOUNDCOOLJUSTFORAPAYCHECKcough*) Two, you get a great exercise every time you play. I went from 120 to 105 in 3 weeks flat. And also, the final pro is that YOU GET 100% COOL, GOOD FUN EVERY TIME YOU PLAY IT. The only con is that all these benefits come from the dance pad you could get at stores nationwide or at RedOctane.com or DDRDepot.com.

Killer Game |
| Lina from Missouri, USA says (1/Jun/2001): |
Talk About Speed! I just got the game today and already I'm working my way through the beginner levels. Gotta be quick to get the half beats and combos down. Lots of good strong beat music selections. Whats nice for beginners and practice is adjustible speed in the practice part. 5 differant levels to work your way up on. Some songs my little brother can stumble through, others give me a strong challenge. Great game, worth the investment for the hard pads.
