this game socks because non of the instracktions even work.In the little booklet where it tells the attaks 4 the caractar doesnt work eather the muzik socks and the grafik socks if i were u i wouldnt even bother wasting your money on it. but there is some good thing like you get 22 careckters (but it doesnt mater because u cant use any attacks like kamehame ha and speshiol beam cannon).but there is also more good things but you will probobly figer it out.there is onely one attack that i figerd out so far and that is kamehame ha (squre four times and o)well i gust got the game so mabey i will figer out more different moves and if some one reeds this and knows more moves plz write them down on here.to me this game is like garbage it just a waset of 20$.but if you think you will like it go ahed and by it and if you like it dont play it to much but i dont think you will because it is the worst game i have evr seen in my life because nothing even works.it even said you can get 5 extra caracktars (master roshi,kid goku supersaiyan 3 goku vegeto and hercule)by pressing up triange down x left L1 right and R1.

Anyone at all who says this game is good and gives it 10 needs thier head sorting out.
The graphics suck, look at the BG's and then the stupid Famicon-like sprites, they don't mix, at all, it looks rubbish. The graphics,(even for them days) are so bad, I couldn't stand playing this. Ever play Dragonball Final Bout? Ever felt how bad it is? It owns this, thats how bad this game is.
Most people say its good becase there hardcore DBZ fans who cannot say something bad about DBZ, I'm a DBZ fan myself, but i found myself wanting my money back within 30 seconds of play.
The ki blasts or special attacks (Kamehameha ect) are so crap, there all the same, since when has Kamehameha been a ball? Yay! You can fly on this game! ... Wait, flying is exatcly the same as walking, exept you can doge an enemy attack while doing so... wow. Its not flying, itd pressing triangle and getting a new background.
Anyway bottom line, this game sucks ASS. Go and buy Budokai 3, PLEASE, why get this when you can have so much more fun on B3? Anywho, don't buy this game, time out of your lfie will be wasted because of it.

As a dbz fan i felt sick playing this game. The graphics were, well if you could call them graphics, extremely poor, I could barely make out the chracacters on the screen they were like small blurry bits of rubbish. They decided that ki attacks should look like fireballs which they should not and they also decided to put the game in slow motion or atleast thats what it seemed like. The only good things about this game was the music and the choice of characters. If is wasnt for these two things then this game wouldnt even be considered a game in my eyes. I personally cant believe they were allowed to release this game. If your a dbz fan then you might just get some kind of enjoyment from the fact that it has some of the better characters in it like goten, trunks, buu and gotenks but other than that this game has no purpose in even exsisting. It was luck that I got a refundon this game or I would have burnt it to stop any other poor soul from ever playin it again. PLease dont even consider buying this game as it is a waste of money and has no entertainment value what so ever. Thankyou

Dragonball Z Ultimate Battle 22 is an alright game. If you really like DBZ, I would recommend the game. The graphics of the game are a little to flat and cartoonish. The characters look like flat,paper-drawn people. The background lacks detail. I mean, most of the levels have about three colors or less.
The sound is horrible. Most of the characters all sound alike. For example, Trunks sounds like Goten. And for the moves, if you do the Kamekameha, it looks like all of the other fire balls in the game. Oh yeah, the music is alright.
The controls are easy to master. To fly, you just press triangle. To do a fire ball, you press the circle button. To do super moves however, are a bit tough. First off, you have to press a series of buttons. Then on top of that, they have to be done at a fast motion. Its pretty hard if you are not fast enough.
For the lifespan, most hardcore DBZ fans would be playing the game for at lease an hour to about two hours non-stop.
The fun of the game gets rather old a bit quick. I liked the game because of the characters and the fighting.

This game has it all except well for sound and graphic. The gameplay isn't hards to master your just not being reasonable some of you. well i see the problem with the backround they suck. the sound is kinda repetative and it isn't really fighting music. it is areally fun game and shouldn't be shunned on the fun factor. i say that it is as good as budokai, and the characters are cooler like SSj3 goku and vegeto and marjin buu. the game has a factor of 'i want to play it again and again'. the gameplay is kinda weird and a bit wodden and some aspects like the fact that there is noo blood or much body language when you are hurt but the game has potntial for a seqel. but the fact is that it is a great game and that a true dbz fan will not be dissapointed. But for all u teken boys and girls go home as u would notunderstand the true dbz feeling to this game as kicks ass and will be one of my favourites for a while to cum. it has a long life span as u just keep coming back to beat the hell out of your enemies. So buy it enjoy it and have fun.

This game is awesome, and you guys should stfu and stop giving it a bad review, you talk all this $#< remove me > at ! about good graphics and here you dumb a**'s cant even make a game, the button patterns are easy once you have them down, and this game is like streetfighter set up, sure it may have some flaws but its awesome in the end, its just like street fighter exept you get to fly and stuff, and theres a better selection of characters , unlike you , the designers of this game spent loads of time making it , and when they do , you guys give them a hard time, i bet you coulnt even make a cartoon from the animation shop, this game is from the 90's for crying out loud its when ps was just on the break of becoming a big hit, its about like the first driver, it was awesome back then but not now, well thats what you think? no its still awesome to this day , here i am playing it , and you guys complain about it, you bunch of newbs, get a life and a job, ....and to all the dbz fans this game is awesome rent first...then buy it......

This game made me mad at the beginning.I thought i should sew. i got the game in st.louis and right now i'm in chicago. so on the way home i looked at the back cover and it looked awesome.i don't mind the bootleg graphics.so i read the booklet but when i got home.......I went crazy.i mean the game is cool but the backgrounds suck.theyonly have 5 different colors, and 6 levels.the tourament,a dark place,the desert,an island, and a city that not even a hobo would live in.and the music has only three songs.to me music is important in a game.I like the characters.But they have went too far in the booket.i saw vegeto in the booklet but it didn't have the picture.in the japanese anime vegeto looks like goku but he acts like vegeta,were some blue pants and a blue and orange shirt instead of an orange and blue shirt, and he has gloves and boots.They gave me gogeta!i look at the fmv sequence and it showed the right fusion but the person. I think this game ties with Budaki because it has a lot of characters and that's it.

I wouldnt recomend this game unless U R THE BIGGEST DBZ MORON IF U JUST BUY IT RIGHT AWAY.Rent the game first but i really dont reccomend this game and if u dont believe me then play it and then you will be screaming at the screen because it is boringly hard it is and how annoying the blisters on ur fingers for playing by spinning the anolog stick for doing certain atks are so dont buy first just rent.And this game has the worst graphics and movement because the people look like paper and u move to dang slow.And in story mode it has a game board way to do the game and the storyline is really kindof wrong so dont play if u want to find out the buu saga.Im only giving it 2 stars because 1 its a dragon ball game and 2 it shows gotenks Gogeta(or Veggeto).TRUST ME RENT FIRST DONT BUY IT RIGHT WHEN UR STUPIS LITTLE EYES SEE IT!!!

I love this game! The graphics r good considering its a 1995 game. The gameplay isn't bad and the controls r very easy. For all u guys that only play games for graphics and nothing else u r IDIOTS!!! If the graphics aren't good, so what, the game can make up for it in gameplay, controls, and fun factor.(which by the way this game is like the most fun game i have ever played.) I have to admit i don't like the music, but besides that the game is one of the best ever played, and im stickin by it. I was going to give the game a 9 since i don't like the music, but that is not a good enough reason to take a star off of my review. This game is one of the ultimate fighting games. Also, u can play this game for like 3 hours straifght and not get bored. (believe me I've done it.) This is an awesomely cool game and is definitely right up there with budokai and budokai2. I suggest that for anyone who even remoteley likes fighting games should buy this, and not even think twice about renting it.

Is it just me or has every game in the DBZ series of games rubbish? yes, some didn't rubbish as bad as others, but, form a pure gamers standpoint, yes, it sucks. The game engine is TERRIBLE! Play yourself some King of Fighters (any year, even 94) and you can get better gameplay than this. The moves work at random it seems. I can pull-off a 7 hit air combo consistently in MvC2, but this game still confounds me even after a couple of hours. The music is awesome, as are the voices (a couple of these sound clips are in final bout). The graphics... hmm. I'm not a carnal gamer. I could care less about graphics. But dang. I wouldn't mind if the animation was at least consistent, but, for example, Super Buu has like 5 frames of animation whereas Trunks seems to have many more. In all decency, some moves have no recovery time and others have a huge one, making this game horribly unbalanced. Lack of balance, gameplay, control... good sound? Bah, cool franchise or not, rubbishgame.

Ultimate Battle 22: a great failure? No, I wouldn't say so. It is an overall good game. The wide range of characters to choose from is a definite plus. In all of the previous Dragon Ball games, I have never seen such a large selection of fighters. The graphics have an interesting twist to them; 2D characters in a 3D environment. This little spin on the game makes fighting more interesting and enjoyable. The controls are pretty easy to learn and remember, and the soundtrack is to die for. Despite all of these positive attributes, I still wouldn't say it is the best Dragon Ball game out there. In my personal opinion, Super Butoden 3 is the greatest game of all of them. It doesn't have a story mode and the fighters selection is a little slim, but gameplay is fast, the special moves are fun to execute, and it pushed the Super Nintendo's graphics engine to the limit. Anyway, in short, Ultimate Battle 22 is an excellent game, but it is no classic.

first of all most of this game sucks. the graphics, sound, voices, and the movement. the only good thing about this game is the show and u dont have to do fusion, and u dont have to go ss3 for goku. if u watch very closly vegeto supposed to be gogeta. vegeto has no fusion rings and different clothes. his voice sounds like a old woman that has a bad sore throat. now u get master roshi and kid goku but not on budakia and thats good. but what is the problem with the person who made this game!? he should of made everything better in this game! but try not to waste money on this game until it is about 5$ or less. now the cover looks cool but the game is bad. they should do somthin like make a preview before u buy the game!!! u have to be a a super super super super dbz freak to buy this game. but anyways this game is good in some ways. but bad in a lot of ways. oh yeah! in the cover u will see a code that makes it ultimate battle 27.

Ok i have a lot of reviews of what people have said about this game the graphics are bad well i mean comeon it was made in 1995 u cant expect ps2 like graphics for a game made 8 years ago, Another than the graphics and sound the game is just plain fun i mean it has so many characters and the controls are good u can build your character up and i mean it doesnt compair to budokais graphics but it shouldnt i mean ultimate 22 is an 8 year old ps1 game and budokai is a 6 month old ps2 game its wrong to compair i mean just cuz there is no story mode i mean all budokai did was take alittle part of the tv show and have a cheesy movie and an ok fighting system while ultimate 22 has a unique and fun fighting system i mean dont get me wrong i enjoy budokai i just didnt have that much fun with it but i had more fun with ultimate 22. I recomend this game to any dbz fan or any fighting game fan cuz the game just plain rocks.

Sure the graphics and the voices are bad, but the moves and the great variety of characters that you can't get in budokai are great!!!!!!I have added a cheat section to my review, check it out!!!!---If any of you like this game, but are having trouble with the codes, Go to Game winners.com, go to the strategy guides (scroll down the screen to the end of the page, you will see a hyperlink for strategy guides)Then choose the fourth guide by MGibbs. It has everything for this game including hypermoves for the characters (awesome little FMV's of super moves that take no energy at all!!!!!!) These cheats make it possible to see the full potential of the game, and don't listen to the people saying all the bad stuff about this game, dont take it from them, see for your self!!!!!

The game over all is good. The graphics are in great 2-D form. And the varity of characters is great. you can pick anyone from Mr.Saten to Zarbon. You can make the game Ultimate battle 27 with a code(mr.saten is one of the secret characters along with little goku MasterRoshie Gogeta and SSJ3 Goku). I liked the amount of life span that they give you, you get 2 colors green and yellow which is more than enough for a player with skill but you get it just in case you mess up in an attack. I also like the way each fighter has his\her's own unique special power(my brother loves gotenks'ghost kimezie attack. I also Like the dialog before the match but the way they are drawn is kinda weird for example Vegeta is a good character in battle but in the dialog he looks pretty weird(like an orangutan:>.The game play is good fast and fun.

Wow! I don't play 2D fighters outside of Mortal Kombat even though I love Dragonball Z but this game is the best! I even stick with Virtua Fighter 4 over Budokai. But this game is loaded with style from the get go. The game looks great, plays great, and contrary to what everyone else says, sounds great! Icludes 1-3 more charcter specific moves than the average Mortal Kombat Trilogy character and gameplay is great when you get into it and it comes down to a lot of timing your moves, dodging, and blocking... what makes any good fighting game. But add flying, an energy meter, the Dragonball Z license, and 3D backrounds and what you have is a game that should have been released in the U.S. ages ago. My only gripe is I wish the projectiles had been more colorful, explosive, and screen-filling than they are. But who cares???
