this game for me was a bargain buy. there are 22 characters to choose from which doesnt make you get bored straight away. build up mode is good,you can reach a power level above 125 and you can keep going. the music is great and the graphics overall are good. there are five secret characters each which are all good characters. the only problem for me is the japanese voices they can get quite annoying. (if anyone knows where to get it in english id be very grateful). overall ive given this game a 9

I got this game at a local store. I turned it on and it was great. I loved the opening movie. The characters have cool combos, some hard, most easy. The modes are fun, espesially if you are playing with a friend who ownes the game too. I would recomend it to anyone who likes a fast fighting game. UB22 ROCKS!

This game is awesome ! Same with Legends. This is definately got to be one of the best Dragonball Z games and one of the best Playstation games I've ever seen. The selection of fighters is great ! (Like Shin, Krillin, Android 18, Android 16, Goku, Trunks, Gotenks, Tien, Piccolo, Majin Buu, Frieza, Recoom, Captain Ginyu, Great Saiyanman, Vegeta and other great fighters).
The game is super cool. I was hoping the fighters were in 3D but they were in 2D but I doesn't really matter. The characters look awesome even in 2D. There great songs. The fighters talk Japanese and can't understand them but who cares. I wonder what they are saying ? But this is not the point. My point is the game is lethal and it has great sounds and it has a great story mode with great songs and great levels like in the future Trunk's
timeline in the future with mass destruction left behind by the Androids. The detials of the levels are awesome. I recommend this game to Dragonball Z/GT fans. This is the game for you. Get it the fun will never end. You'll enjoy it so much you wouldn't want to put down the controller. It would make a great christmas gift or even a great birthday gift. Well that's all from me for now.

dbz ub22 is deffinately the best PSX dbz game. Its fast, easy to control, and theres so many characters that it takes a while to get bored. Legends is great but theres not much to it, and Final Bout is pretty much crap (sorry people but u know it really is) One thing that does suck is the majority of the fireballs look exactly the same and that can be kind of a let down but they are very accurate. So if your planning on buying a DBZ game for the PSX buy this one.

Ultimate Battle 22: a great failure? No, I wouldn't say so. It is an overall good game. The wide range of characters to choose from is a definite plus. In all of the previous Dragon Ball games, I have never seen such a large selection of fighters. The graphics have an interesting twist to them; 2D characters in a 3D environment. This little spin on the game makes fighting more interesting and enjoyable. The controls are pretty easy to learn and remember, and the soundtrack is to die for. Despite all of these positive attributes, I still wouldn't say it is the best Dragon Ball game out there. In my personal opinion, Super Butoden 3 is the greatest game of all of them. It doesn't have a story mode and the fighters selection is a little slim, but gameplay is fast, the special moves are fun to execute, and it pushed the Super Nintendo's graphics engine to the limit. Anyway, in short, Ultimate Battle 22 is an excellent game, but it is no classic.

good game and i am a fanatic. graphics suck but i can deal with that the best part of the game is all the characters. game play is rather easy and i'd have to say i am a little hooked. it's no where's near dbz budokai though that game is amazing for ps2 best one yet. and i hear they might be redoing ub22 for ps2.

As soon as my brother bought UB22 i kept waiting until he got off it and then went to write about it on the computer. When i finished playing it i thought it was utter amazing!!!!!!!!
The background graphics are fantastic and it looks like your controlling the cartoon! I love the music but i have to agree with James that the sound sucked! My favourite game mode was championship and build-up, i'm building up Gogeta while my brother is building mega Goku. The characters ataks are brilliant. I recomend this game to every fan of DBZ, you won't be disappointed with what you get.

I beat this game in 2 days ,but i like it because of gotenks,gogita,and super sayin 3 goku.They call gogita veggeto in the booklet.Its good for being 2D graphics.Pick it up give it a try and if you like it buy it its only $20.00.

Is it just me or has every game in the DBZ series of games rubbish? yes, some didn't rubbish as bad as others, but, form a pure gamers standpoint, yes, it sucks. The game engine is TERRIBLE! Play yourself some King of Fighters (any year, even 94) and you can get better gameplay than this. The moves work at random it seems. I can pull-off a 7 hit air combo consistently in MvC2, but this game still confounds me even after a couple of hours. The music is awesome, as are the voices (a couple of these sound clips are in final bout). The graphics... hmm. I'm not a carnal gamer. I could care less about graphics. But dang. I wouldn't mind if the animation was at least consistent, but, for example, Super Buu has like 5 frames of animation whereas Trunks seems to have many more. In all decency, some moves have no recovery time and others have a huge one, making this game horribly unbalanced. Lack of balance, gameplay, control... good sound? Bah, cool franchise or not, rubbishgame.

This games great! I got the English version a couple days ago and its cool, i give the graphics a 4-6 it preety bad. but the game is cool. Its kinda hard to understand the control but you will get the hang of it. The games really good and there isn't many attacks and they aren't that amazing but its still good.

This game has awsome game play. but thats about the only thing good about it. The moves are impossible to master (mainly because of that quarter turn circle thing). The graphics could use a little work, along with the sound and the voices of the characters. And whats up with the energy waves (or fireballs)? I mean, no one in DBZ or DBGT attakes like that. This game is a very good game, if you dont pay attention to the graphics, music,voices, and attacks.

Anyone who says this game is CRAZY! The graphics are AWESOME. Gotenks is tha best. The moves aren't that hard to master. As Gotenks you can even to the Kamikazi attack! (the one where he spits out a ghost). The charecters are awesome, better thean budikai simply because if the characters, the game play doesn't hurt it either. The fusionrs are tight. They even have SUPER SAIYAN 3 GOKU! What else could you want? THE BEST GAME EVER!!

Hey, I went to buy DBGT final bout but it wasnt there at a Anime store. So then I saw ultimate battle 22 and bought it for 60 bucks and a upgrade disk to play the game on playstation. Then the game came out here for 20 and I got mad, and my friend showed me the game and I noticed that they took off all the animation on the U.S version! That SUCKS!! That's why the game sucks and the announcer even talks in japanese! The animation always comes on when your about to fight and when you lose too. Which was hilarious the way they talked, but why take off all the animation?!! WHATS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!!?? not to mention diffrent characters shown on the cover of UB 22 on the U.S version! So thats my reason it sucks without animation!

Though it make you a bit judgeental at first, with todays graphics standards and all, but once you get the hang of gameplay and all (kindof like budikai or final bout, but stranger). I kindof like the game, sice the backrounds are pretty cool, and the japanese music. Its basicly final bout if it was 2d with 3d backrounds. but if your not palying to much attention, it looks like the show. Mabey that was the point 8 years ago, or mabey because Bandai was still looking at SNES

This game has it all except well for sound and graphic. The gameplay isn't hards to master your just not being reasonable some of you. well i see the problem with the backround they suck. the sound is kinda repetative and it isn't really fighting music. it is areally fun game and shouldn't be shunned on the fun factor. i say that it is as good as budokai, and the characters are cooler like SSj3 goku and vegeto and marjin buu. the game has a factor of 'i want to play it again and again'. the gameplay is kinda weird and a bit wodden and some aspects like the fact that there is noo blood or much body language when you are hurt but the game has potntial for a seqel. but the fact is that it is a great game and that a true dbz fan will not be dissapointed. But for all u teken boys and girls go home as u would notunderstand the true dbz feeling to this game as kicks ass and will be one of my favourites for a while to cum. it has a long life span as u just keep coming back to beat the hell out of your enemies. So buy it enjoy it and have fun.

This has to be one of the most orphul Dragonball Z Games that has been released. The fighting system is very basic, and the choice of Ki Attacks is very restricted. You can not transform at will during battle, you have to select a transformed character from the menu. The graphics were also equal with those from the Nintendo, all the attacks looked exactly the same. The sound was poor, the music is horrible, accept the SSJ4 Goku theme that is only available when you battle SSJ3 Goku and SSJ2 Gogeta. The sound was one of the worst features about the game, what a let down. Gameplay, the ghame is good for about 20 minutes, after that, it is pointless. Even as a huge Manga, Anime, and Dragonball fan, I have to give this game 2 star rating. I wouldn't waste your money.

first of all most of this game sucks. the graphics, sound, voices, and the movement. the only good thing about this game is the show and u dont have to do fusion, and u dont have to go ss3 for goku. if u watch very closly vegeto supposed to be gogeta. vegeto has no fusion rings and different clothes. his voice sounds like a old woman that has a bad sore throat. now u get master roshi and kid goku but not on budakia and thats good. but what is the problem with the person who made this game!? he should of made everything better in this game! but try not to waste money on this game until it is about 5$ or less. now the cover looks cool but the game is bad. they should do somthin like make a preview before u buy the game!!! u have to be a a super super super super dbz freak to buy this game. but anyways this game is good in some ways. but bad in a lot of ways. oh yeah! in the cover u will see a code that makes it ultimate battle 27.

Best game ever. you are in complete control of the characters, and when you bitch slap a character you can feel it sting them all the way down to their soul. the graphics are as real as we're gonna get for a dbz game, and the story mode flows swimmingly. i couldn't ask for more. well maybe a little 0olong action. but that'd be all.
