I think this game is really cool for a number of reasons it has most of your fav characters such as goku vegeta and my personal fav future trunks the game has good pick up and play controlls and anyone can get into this game and start kicking a$$. There is also a build up mode to edit your fav characters strength. this is one of the best dbz games ever made its up there with such games as hyper dimension and shinbouten deffinitely get this one if you love dragonball z.

I like the game very much. The graphiics are ok.I think the game should have had a story more or something though. But they could've dubbed some stuff in it but over all its a really good game. I really hope they game out with another game like this for playstation 1.:)

Man... are you people crazy? How could you like this game? It is one of the worst fighting games I've ever played! What's wrong with you? The graphics suck, the sound is the worst I've ever heard on a game, the code they give you in the book doesn't even work, and It takes way to much effort and to train the characters, not to mention alot of memory card space. I only give it two stars because it has my favorite character, Majin Buu (Fat Buu) in it! This is a waist of time and money.A Really, REALLY bad game!!!

Well dont get me wrong the graphics are good but the game basically starts to suck!
final bout has much better graphics and cooler battles..and legends is the story of dbz..
it's no where close to final bout or legends..if you want fun for a while get it but
if you want a never ending tight ***games get final bout and legends.....

at first when i got it i thought it was going to be lame because of the reviews i had read before i got it so when i got it i was not that excited but when i played it i was like what were these people thinking. I know I know this is not the best game out there but its not bad either. the only bad thing about is the sound but the graphics are ok. im a big dbz fan so i dont really care if it is 2d or 3d its all fine with me. the best part of the game is that you get almost all of the characters from the sayjin saga to the majin buu saga. the vs mode is ok too but it is the sound that i dont like. i hope they make a remake of dragonball z ultimate battle 22 for ps2.

Wow! I don't play 2D fighters outside of Mortal Kombat even though I love Dragonball Z but this game is the best! I even stick with Virtua Fighter 4 over Budokai. But this game is loaded with style from the get go. The game looks great, plays great, and contrary to what everyone else says, sounds great! Icludes 1-3 more charcter specific moves than the average Mortal Kombat Trilogy character and gameplay is great when you get into it and it comes down to a lot of timing your moves, dodging, and blocking... what makes any good fighting game. But add flying, an energy meter, the Dragonball Z license, and 3D backrounds and what you have is a game that should have been released in the U.S. ages ago. My only gripe is I wish the projectiles had been more colorful, explosive, and screen-filling than they are. But who cares???

I never experienced this much fun of any Dragonballz game. This game tells you the code of unlocking five more characters. It has Vegeto and SS3 Goku,plus Gotenks in this game. My best characters in this game is Gotenks,Vegeto,Piccolo,Majin Buu,Super Buu,Goku,Goten,Trunks,Future Trunks,and Tien. The graphics are excellent but the background is pretty good. What I like most about it is the fast-non like Budokai-action packed fighting. When I did Vegeto's special,it looked hot. Especially the move that when he runs at you and turns invinsible then,he appears as slide kicking you. This is a adventous game. You can power-up other than Budokai,it's hard to power-up. It's the best fighting,great graphics,and non-like Budokai game.

I purchased this game unaware to the fact that it has serious faults, such as limited graphics and an appauling game speed, the sound qaulity is totally abismal.There should be laws in place that prevent this sort of low qaulity rubbish being produced that are supposed to realise the amazing effects of Dragonball Z,Bodukai however is up to the standard that this sort of game should be.
Battle 22 is the ultimate in shame and I dont recommend this worthless piece of junk game to even the greatest of DBZ fans, If you find this game exiting and enjoyable, good for you but when you take a long hard look at yourself and this game you will realise that even the best of DBZ can be shoved into a poorly presented package and sold to suckers (myslef included).
please heed my warnings and save your cash.

this game is not good at all.it's terrible.first of all, the graphics are 2-d.the controls are hurting your thumbs and the moves look all the same,all the attacks look like a fireball.The kids who are saying this game is better then budokai,are crazy!

the game was put together like crap. i could sit here and give you the bull about it but let me say this... if you got bored of all your other games it is good to just play. But its not a pretty sight to look at. but hey if your a dbz then i say get it just to say "Hey i got all the dbz gamez to date!." I also have most or all the games that have come out even though i may have not owned the platform it was on. But that is just me.

I thought the game was kind of ok, playing and seeing the characters I couldn't get in Budokai. The characters techniques is really old school coputer graphigy. But the only thing I like best about the game is the characters. Besides all that, Dragonball z Budokai is the best DBZ game yet.

This game is great, i can't stop playing it. It may seem stupid and dumb to others because they dont like dragonball Z and they think the characters are dumb, but to us DBZ fans the game is the bomb! I have the same game, but the combinations are different, and there are only 5 characters to unlock. If you dislike the game because of the graphics, you shouldnt. This game is a japenese import and it was made almost 10 years ago!!!!!! Sure it may not be the best DBZ game out there (DBZ Budokai,& DBZ Budokai 2) but it serves its purpose, to make all DBZ fans happy!

I only kept the game because I bought it and love dbz, yes I have all the dbz games, jap and eng, this one is very much like hyper deminsion of the snes, I agree, the game does suck if you don’t like mortal kombat. But in the mean time it’s a very good mix up for you having already beaten everything. I suggest you train a player to his or her maximum on it

the graphics stink of corse iv been able to master the spirit bomb and other technecs.but the only raeson i got it was becaus you can get super sayian 3 goku.and the game was made back in like 1995.actuly if you master the game you can make almost any sayian s.s.3.

This game is awesome, and you guys should stfu and stop giving it a bad review, you talk all this $#< remove me > at ! about good graphics and here you dumb a**'s cant even make a game, the button patterns are easy once you have them down, and this game is like streetfighter set up, sure it may have some flaws but its awesome in the end, its just like street fighter exept you get to fly and stuff, and theres a better selection of characters , unlike you , the designers of this game spent loads of time making it , and when they do , you guys give them a hard time, i bet you coulnt even make a cartoon from the animation shop, this game is from the 90's for crying out loud its when ps was just on the break of becoming a big hit, its about like the first driver, it was awesome back then but not now, well thats what you think? no its still awesome to this day , here i am playing it , and you guys complain about it, you bunch of newbs, get a life and a job, ....and to all the dbz fans this game is awesome rent first...then buy it......

I am a huge Dragonball Z fan and a pretty big video gamer. I have the imported Dragonball Z Legends for PS, Dragonball Z Budioki PS2, and now this one. The controls are slugish, the sound isn't great, and oh boy what great graphics for a 2003 video game.

i just got the game and the only things bad are the paper like graphics and how long it takes to throw a kameha wave. other than that its a pretty cool and fun game. my favorite feature though is when they talk or scream. over all this game is interesting and a good way topass time.

This is a great game, it has the classic 2-D Street Fighter action and fun. Of all of the games I have played, this is one of my favorites. I owned this game for sometime now, and there is no way for me to discard it. There are many fighters to choose from for 'Build Up' mode and create a beasty character. The game even lets you also choose to fight as Kame-son, Chibi Son-Goku, Super Saijin 3 Son-Goku, Vegitto, and Mr. Satan. I love Kame because of his Kame-hama-ha waves and his signature move: the Double After Image. Kame-son even fights with his 'Crazy Cow Techniuqe' (American translation.) I find Mr. Satan more of a novelty character due to his comical fighting style and his Ki based fighting moves. For example: The rocket launcher, the atomic bomb, the bazooka, and the stick grenade. I find Mr. Satan's way of "powering up his Ki" very funny. As for the other three extra fighters, (Mr. Satan and Kame-son can't fly)can fly and have the normal fighting atributes as real Ki (Mr. Satan) and have multiple major power moves that is more than 2(Kame-son). The game also has really great realism from the game. For example: when Capt. Ginyu of the Ginyu force (I love his dance and his comrades dance that introduced them to Frieza on Namek)performed his 'Body Change Techniuqe' on another fighter, you must hope for the beam to hit your opponite. Like when Capt. Ginyu used this techniuqe on Vegita, he hoped that the beam would hit. Instead, Ginyu turned into a Namekian frog (snicker) because Son-Goku used the frog as a projectile so Capt. Ginyu couldn't turn into another Z Fighter or other person. All I can say is that the only problem of this game is that Andriod 19 (I loved his creepy voice in the American DBZ) and Evil Kid Buu (for some reason I think of a monkey in Dragon Ball GT: Final Bout[when you pick him for fighting] for the Playstation) aren't playable. All in all, this is one of the best games I have ever played. :D
