This game made me mad at the beginning.I thought i should sew. i got the game in st.louis and right now i'm in chicago. so on the way home i looked at the back cover and it looked awesome.i don't mind the bootleg graphics.so i read the booklet but when i got home.......I went crazy.i mean the game is cool but the backgrounds suck.theyonly have 5 different colors, and 6 levels.the tourament,a dark place,the desert,an island, and a city that not even a hobo would live in.and the music has only three songs.to me music is important in a game.I like the characters.But they have went too far in the booket.i saw vegeto in the booklet but it didn't have the picture.in the japanese anime vegeto looks like goku but he acts like vegeta,were some blue pants and a blue and orange shirt instead of an orange and blue shirt, and he has gloves and boots.They gave me gogeta!i look at the fmv sequence and it showed the right fusion but the person. I think this game ties with Budaki because it has a lot of characters and that's it.

this game is not good at all.it's terrible.first of all, the graphics are 2-d.the controls are hurting your thumbs and the moves look all the same,all the attacks look like a fireball.The kids who are saying this game is better then budokai,are crazy!

Why do people call it stupid and hard to master the moves?theyre so easy!man,this game beats budokai by 100 stars! i love this game because there are so many characters to choose from and you can play people from the buu serious!thats right,the buu series! i was saying that this was a tupid game but when i played it i thought it was so cool! you could play as super buu, majin buu, gotenks,ss3 goku and like other so many great and cool strong characters! i agree a little on the graphics being bad but thats like only the only thing thats wrong wth ths game!i would reccommend it if you are a dbz fan cause this is the ultimate game!

Dragonball Z Ultimate Battle 22 is an alright game. If you really like DBZ, I would recommend the game. The graphics of the game are a little to flat and cartoonish. The characters look like flat,paper-drawn people. The background lacks detail. I mean, most of the levels have about three colors or less.
The sound is horrible. Most of the characters all sound alike. For example, Trunks sounds like Goten. And for the moves, if you do the Kamekameha, it looks like all of the other fire balls in the game. Oh yeah, the music is alright.
The controls are easy to master. To fly, you just press triangle. To do a fire ball, you press the circle button. To do super moves however, are a bit tough. First off, you have to press a series of buttons. Then on top of that, they have to be done at a fast motion. Its pretty hard if you are not fast enough.
For the lifespan, most hardcore DBZ fans would be playing the game for at lease an hour to about two hours non-stop.
The fun of the game gets rather old a bit quick. I liked the game because of the characters and the fighting.

The graphics were classicly 2-d, and I like that about games. The gameplay doesn't hurt, but they should get a story mode at least. Other than that, this game kicked serious butt! I loved the selection of charecters, and the way they have the original japenese voices. The fact that they had buu, super buu, Gotenks,
and S.S.3 Goku blew my mind! I love making classic showdowns between charecters, such as buu against goku, vegeta against goku, buu against gotenks, and others like that. I love this game along with other dbz titles. Nowadays, kids only care about graphics. I think otherwise. I like games I can have a good time with. I also like the classic game music. I just have to say that this game has a good amount of value. The tournaments are very amusing to me, because I like the japenese-voiced announcer and the charecter voices during the battles. This is an almost all-around good game. Other downsides include th energy balls, which are orange, look exactley like the Ka-Me-Ha-Me-Ha wave , which is blueish-white. I also think that you shouldn't get bigger when you fly upwards into the air while the opponent is still on the ground. I hoped you liked my review!

This game bites! There's only two codes you can use. Hurcule and master roishi can't even fly! Why in the wrold sdid they put them in the game. It's too hard diong attacks that look like punny fire balls. The only reason i put a five there becase you can be people from the Buu saga. It's even too hard to do a kamaha wave. And the graphics stink. There's only like five backgrounds: Kami's lookout, grass island,dessert, this realy dark place, Namek,and a banged up city. The chariters look fine, but why put in stupid 3d bacgrounds and it's even challenging. It's still fun to try. I beated the game with majin Buu two times and i only lost to supersaiyian 3 goku. Good to rent , bad to buy. thanks for reading!

This game is okay because it has a lot of characters (over 27} and they give you a code in the booklet for SS3 Goku, Vegito, Master Rushi, Kid Goku, and Hercule. The sound is like any other game and the graphics are the same for any PS1 game exept the characters witch are 2-D and look like Super Nintendo games do. When you throw somebody or when Supreme Kai picks you up and slams you down a few times it looks dumb. I don't like how you can't pick the levels and they don't have a story mode but when you beat the game it shows in the credits Poolom and Plum or how ever you spell their names and you can't unlock them with the cheat in the booklet. Over all this game is decent.

The reason that I think it isn't all that great is that it is a little bit too hard too do most of the moves people have. I wish it had better graphics, and there wasn't really a story mode. this games also has too many bad characters. The is also way too easy. My favorite character in this game was Vegeto.
Faulties are really great in this game. This is what I really think about the game.

Though it make you a bit judgeental at first, with todays graphics standards and all, but once you get the hang of gameplay and all (kindof like budikai or final bout, but stranger). I kindof like the game, sice the backrounds are pretty cool, and the japanese music. Its basicly final bout if it was 2d with 3d backrounds. but if your not palying to much attention, it looks like the show. Mabey that was the point 8 years ago, or mabey because Bandai was still looking at SNES

I purchased this game unaware to the fact that it has serious faults, such as limited graphics and an appauling game speed, the sound qaulity is totally abismal.There should be laws in place that prevent this sort of low qaulity rubbish being produced that are supposed to realise the amazing effects of Dragonball Z,Bodukai however is up to the standard that this sort of game should be.
Battle 22 is the ultimate in shame and I dont recommend this worthless piece of junk game to even the greatest of DBZ fans, If you find this game exiting and enjoyable, good for you but when you take a long hard look at yourself and this game you will realise that even the best of DBZ can be shoved into a poorly presented package and sold to suckers (myslef included).
please heed my warnings and save your cash.

Ultimate battle is an alright game, but I still think that Budoki is better. The gameplay is pretty good, the sound is like any other Playstation game, the 2-d characters is what I don't like. I wish this game was for PS2 instead because the back and foreground look like junk.(All PS1 games look like crap) But, for 20$ this is a decent deal, but, if you don't read the little booklet that comes with the game, then you will not have any clue how to play the game. I like that the background changes when you put in the code for the secret five characters. Over all I think that this is a pretty good game.

mmmmm ok this game is really good, i like the fact that the characters that you have to unlock are actually worth unlocking. like kid goku ya know. in other games the characters you have to unlock are just characters that you see like all the time, like hercule or cell in budokai! Alos the grphics on the CHARACTERS are pretty decent but the backround is nothing to cheer about.... personally i think that budokai could be on th ps one but eh whatcha gonna do? the game IS a little slow (unless you know how to do those kikcs butt combos!!) tis a little hard to learn but overall i think its pretty good...oh and the resaon i thnk budokai could be on ps one is because of its graphics! i mean comeon thats sucky compared to what other ps 2 games have!

It was a great game. I didn't like the slow speed of attacks or that the way to win is through energy blasts, but nonetheless I recommend it for only hardcore DragonBallZ gamers only. It has great characters and the special characters are cool. You should choose Fat Majinn Buu for beginners. He's the fastest character in the start and great for beginners.

Easy to play, but tough to master, this long awaited masterpiece offers mathchups from the Buu, Freiza and android sagas. This game is awesome. The movie in the beginning is awesome and the fact that you actually can do codes is sweet! The music for this game is a little creepy but you can ignore it. Your lifespan is short, only because it is very hard to do any special attacks, but once you memorize them it is a peice of cake. The orignality is ok, because it took eight years to get over here from Japan it is still good and worth buying. If you are a die hard dbz fan than buy this game. These are all the playable characters. Goku, Gohan, Goten, Kid Trunks, Gotenks, Trunks, Piccolo, Krillin, Tien, Great Saiyaman, Supreme Kai, Vegeta, Zarbon, Recoome, Captain Ginyu, Frieza, Android 18 (Girl android), Android 16, Cell, Dabura, Majin Buu and Super Buu. You can even get non-majin Vegeta, ssjPan, Master Roshi, Kid Goku, ssj3 gotenks, Nappa, Raditz, ssj3 Goten and ssj3 Goku.

I think the game is awsome! I dont understand why everyone is dissin it so much either. I agree that the graphics arent the greatest, but saying they look like little piles of rubbish is a little much. Maybe you need to adjust your t.v. The only thing i dont like about this game is that if the comp knocks you down, ur finished. Overall though I think its a great game.

The graphics were okay for an eight year old game that finally came to the U.S. The price was a little high, but I am a huge DBZ fan so I got it. I think that the game is very fun when it comes to the cries that each character makes when they get hit and so on. The special moves are a little hard to master, but like any other fighting games one learns from playing it after awhile. The music while you play is questionable but one can deal with it if you ignore it. I love how many characters you can play with, that's one really could point of the game. It's an okay game.

Hey, I went to buy DBGT final bout but it wasnt there at a Anime store. So then I saw ultimate battle 22 and bought it for 60 bucks and a upgrade disk to play the game on playstation. Then the game came out here for 20 and I got mad, and my friend showed me the game and I noticed that they took off all the animation on the U.S version! That SUCKS!! That's why the game sucks and the announcer even talks in japanese! The animation always comes on when your about to fight and when you lose too. Which was hilarious the way they talked, but why take off all the animation?!! WHATS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!!?? not to mention diffrent characters shown on the cover of UB 22 on the U.S version! So thats my reason it sucks without animation!

Oh danget, they should come out with a better game besides this one ,except Budokai. I cant believe they put Hercule,and Master Roshi in the game,they all suck. The only thing I like about the game is supersaiyan3 Goku. Out of that,the game bites the dust. I would honestly have no fun factor in my game. Which is why I give this game {One}.

As a dbz fan i felt sick playing this game. The graphics were, well if you could call them graphics, extremely poor, I could barely make out the chracacters on the screen they were like small blurry bits of rubbish. They decided that ki attacks should look like fireballs which they should not and they also decided to put the game in slow motion or atleast thats what it seemed like. The only good things about this game was the music and the choice of characters. If is wasnt for these two things then this game wouldnt even be considered a game in my eyes. I personally cant believe they were allowed to release this game. If your a dbz fan then you might just get some kind of enjoyment from the fact that it has some of the better characters in it like goten, trunks, buu and gotenks but other than that this game has no purpose in even exsisting. It was luck that I got a refundon this game or I would have burnt it to stop any other poor soul from ever playin it again. PLease dont even consider buying this game as it is a waste of money and has no entertainment value what so ever. Thankyou

The graphics are'nt great,the moves don't work and the characters shoot FIREBALLs?!!? Since when did they shoot fire? The sound is'nt to bad though and the intro i really cool but the reason you buy the the game is to fight other DBZ people which is crap! giving it a three is being nice!
