this is the best rpg game in psx36632

luqman uitm from malaysia says (6/Dec/2003):
i love this game the most because it challenges our brain to create a wanzer that is typical type but with boosting power. i can create my wanzer with 500 hp with correct combination of other parts defeating wanzer with 1200 hp! all of this because good training and i'm very sure you will not regret anything on this game.

Prepare to cut off all social contact with the outside world...21557

A gamer from California, USA says (17/Apr/2003):
Yet another success for the guys at Squaresoft. This game is probably what made me almost fail my finals at school, but if failing a test is worth such happiness, than I really can't complain. Almost every aspect of this game is good- the mech designs, the plot, the freakishly large guns, and the political intrigue and whatnot. The only thigns I didn't like about it were the blocky graphics and the redundancy of the battles. The battles fro the most part were okay, but do we really need the most-hated escort missions? The bosses were also too easy to beat using hit and run tactics and the beam weapons should have done 500 damage as opposed to 130 on a well-armored wanzer (I pity the fool who uses Drake M2Cs on the final mission.)As for originality, I would give it a 7. Everyone knows that Squaresoft has a thing for irritable-guy-has-to-save-the-world-from-some-evil-psycho-antagonist-who-happens-to-have-an-overly-destructive-weapon storylines (*cough* Final Fantasy VII *cough*), and Front Mission 3 is almost similar to Final Fantasy. The music was pretty good, but I just prefer to turn the music down and listen to Evanescence or other bands that I like. They should have brought back some of the original music from the first game (I especially liked the final battle music). I liked the internet feature. It made the game seem all that more realistic. I liked how they included a brief plot synopsis of the two previous games, but I noticed that they left Gun Hazard and Alternative out completely. I think that the Battle system was also good, but could have been improved in a few ways. As for the fun factor, a definite 10. Who doesn't like blowing up mechs with ridiculously big machine guns? Overall, I thought the game was good, with a few minor flaws that Squaresoft will undoubtedly fix in the fourth installment. I highly recommend picking this game up, but be warned- your girlfriend will probably break up with you.

HEAVY FIRE POWER WANZER18267

SHAH from Malaysia says (25/Feb/2003):
Heavy fire power ?... well after the tenth time i play this game it is stell the best game to play, to those who only play once well thats to bad coz i have my own formula to create the mean mechine equipt with two quil two desoto or two mechinegun with only using a combination of the normal wenzer and a little help of of backpack that can reduce the weight, this is for real no trick or code required man, but in order to build this you have to follow Alisa story line coz in Emma story line you cant buy any quil at the shop, heare a tip, use whisk body a lenghei arms left and right and the leg hei hei hei find it your self if you are a true fan. if you get it right change the colour to black and feel the owsem power of your new wanzer. oh learn salvo and double shot 1 to gain high potential of this wanzer even better if you use pilot damage with a mechine gun... trust me on this you dont need any cheat code to play this game when you get this wanzer on your hand ... ^-^

Big mechs, big guns, big game12303

Gringo from Edinburgh, Scotland says (3/Dec/2002):
When I first heard about Front Mission 3, I'll be the first to admit, I was a touch sceptical. However, after finding a copy, loading it up and starting what was to be one of the most rewarding gaming experiences of my career, my opinion soon changed.
Now, I know what a lot of you might say, "Isn't it a bit slow to get into?" and a lot of you would be half right. Yes the initial stages are a bit mundane, but get past that and the game comes into its own. From humble beginnings...
You start the story as a test pilot for the next generation of military hardware, known as Wanzers. After easing your way throught the first tutorial, (which gets you to grips with all the basic controls), a massive, multi layered story line unfolds before you. Political intrigue, backstabbing, a new type of bomb called MIDAS, and of course battles between house-sized robots, litter the vast plot.
On to the game mechanic itself. The basis of the game is turn based combat, with each member of your team having an opportunity to attack or defend according to your situation. Obstacles such as crates, cars and trees litter the arenas, which are themselves, made up of different layers and levels. This offers all sorts of accuracy and evasion factors: the higher you are above a target, the better your aim and evasion will be, and vice versa. You control your team of up to 4 Wanzers in each scenario, which can involve pretty much anything from an easy 3 or 4 enemies up to 8 or 9. The Wanzers themselves are, and this is my particular favourite aspect, completely customisable, with a huge variety of alternative combinations of parts. Each part is also upgradeable, taking care of the higher HP you may need in the more testing battles. The upgrades also improve the likes of accuracy and evasion, not to mention different classes of defence, the 3 main types being listed below. Believe me, you will need them!
I said big guns at the start, and big guns you shall have. There are 3 main categories of weapon: Impact, Piercing and Flame.
The impact weapons consist of shotguns and melee weapons, (knuckles and batons), the piercing weapons are machine guns and rifles and the flame weaponry is rocket and grenade launchers and flame throwers. Your characters build up their experience points with each by attacking and destroying the enemy, who themselves get better with each type of weapon throughout the course of the game.
The two tier story line will keep you on the edge of your seat and you'll see yourself becoming embroiled in rebel movements, aiding military regimes and evading capture by foreign agents, all while trying to save the world from MIDAS. The geographical accuracy, too, is a great way to fully immerse the player in what is, ultimately, a believable fantasy future, (there's even a psuedo internet and e-mail incorporated into the story, each of which offer clues and information that might not otherwise be discovered in the course of the game).
Put simply, Front Mission is a cracking game, all crammed onto one disk. If you can get your hands on it, this reviewer would recommend you pick it up and never put it back down...

This is a great game, only a few quirks9442

Firestar from Morro Bay says (4/Sep/2002):
From the moment I set eyes on Front Missions 3 I knew is was going to be good. Its got mechs, missiles, lasers, hand to hand combat, good graphics, configurable units and more. I thought the story lines were good and I thought that is was excellent that this game had two endings. My friend and I sat up every night and played for hours. The only draw backs were in the mech construction area, I feel that it was not made clear enough what the stat symbols meant. It was not explained in the rule book. For example, You have 10 tons left over to work with. That was simple enough, then you have another symbol that appeared to be a down arrow and it was red. Eventually I figured out that meant there was still room. Then a down arrow - tonnage let you know that you have no room. Just a little annoying. But did not detract from the game too much. The only other thing that got on my nerves was that the main character seemed to have little control over his emotions and after being in tons of battles, one would think a little maturity would grow. Nope, he got bent at every turn and charged headstrong into action.

Overall I loved this game. The above quirks are minor. I give this game a 9 out of 10

What fun!301

bad_boy from Croatia says (15/Sep/2000):
  FRONT MISSION 3

What to say about this complex game? Well, at first its a lot of fun and going to sleep will be the hardest since Metal Gear Solid. It makes you play for weeks! Its turn-based, but much more serious than Hogs and Worms. Its about Wanzers (the same as a mech), the goverment, the good guys, the bad guys and about a missile called MIDAS. The lead guy is a wanzer pilot called Kazuki Takemura (not japanese), he has a friend, Ryogo, a sister, Allisa, and a father wich he denies. At the begining you will have a training (easy, peasy lemon squeasy), after which you can chose an outcome of the game if you go with Ryogo and have Emmas storyline, if you don`t he will get sour and you will get Allisas` storyline. The setup of wanzers is a bit complicated, but thats just a minor mistake. The graphics are very good and the controls very simple. Once again Squaresoft makes a succes!!!
