LOD is awesome. I'm only on the 3rd disc since i cant get past the monster with the dragon block staff (if anyone can give me some tips on it, send me an email plz ive been trying for forever). So far the plot has been interesting and the characters are ok. Graphics are really cool for PS1. Battles are usually real easy except for the one im doing now. Dart is the best character for battles along with Rose. SHANA ANS MIRANDA SUCK FOR BATTLES. SO does haschael but at least he has some cool dragoon attacks! The ghosts on the ship on disc 2 were hard at first. But there easy to beat. Since i havent finsished the game yet im thinking shanas going to die or somthing. Lavitz died when albert came and now mirandas here..... I think the best people for battle are probably dart,rose,kongol (sometimes albert). Shana and miranda are so weak its pathetic. Hashcael additions suck but he has some good dragoon attacks. Albert is the best out of those 4 because he does the most damage out of them though his dragoon attacks sort of suck. So far my characters are Dart:26 Rose:23 Kongol:22 Albert:22 Shana:22 Miranda:23 hashcael:24. Also what does it mean when the monster with the dragon block staff does that attack "level go down". Does the level your currently at go down.. This is the best game for the playstation.
Its graphics are very good and also when it goes into in depth mode on the graphics thats really cool. The sound and music of the game was really great i loved how they switched music to fit the scene of every part like whenn you are in just a normal battle or facing bosses.The Gameplay is awesome i loved the addations this is one of the main things i loved about it besides the dragoons.Ps2 games should think about putting in stuuf like that in the newer games instead of just like other games you just press attack how boring is that but being able to control the attacks you do and other things such as doing the full addition to being counter attacked its put the whole fun into this game.Your lifespan gradually gets higher which is great cause then you can learn many more things and defeat some of the most powerful of enimes in the game or even just some simple creatures you train with in the game.This game is a great game the funfactor was like forever going i just could never stop playing this game when i got it it is a really game hook on.This game is of a new purpose to most long lined fighting action games it is like one i have never seen even for some of the newer systems.The value of this game is great you will love every penny you put into this game to buy it is the best. The only thing i am waiting for is legend of dragoon 2 it would be so awesome it will probably come out for the ps2 or maybe the ps3. I am sure it will be a big thriller though when it does please hurry up and make it and dont forget about all the additions and everything.

This is one of the best games I have ever played! This game has a great storyline. Its kinda long if you ask me. I have allready beat this game twice allready. The graphics arent the greatest but its good enough to ROCK! The movies in this game are very good for a ps1 game. This game contains secrets about every single character. Rose I was looking forward to fight( because she is the black monster and all). Shana is the moon child and I dont want to tell you any more secrets. This game should be in 1st place in the top 40, dont you all agree with me? The End of this game was rather weird... I dont know why Rose ditches with your dad I mean God dad you've taken how many of my girlfriends?!? Well I think they should have put a better ending to it. I recommend this game to anyone who hasent played it. It will make alot of other ps2 games look like trash. This game is 4 discs long it took me longest to beat 2nd disc. It is twice as long as 1st disc. But my favorite was the 4th disc because there is nothing but bosses. This has got to be one of the best games I ever played all of my systems. If you dont have this game I reccomend it to everyone.( There is some bad words but if you cant read problem solved ).

I believe that this was the coolest game ever. The thing i liked most about it is the story line and the battle system. Its true that i do like final fantasy's but they dont compare to this one. First of all i totaly thought that FFVII SUCKED. it was aloot worst then LOD and i really dont get why ppl like FFVII more then LOD. I mean in final fantasys u coulda been watchin TV and fighting a boos cuz all u would do is hit X to attack but the additions in LOD were aloot more interesting as u actually had to pay attention in the game about all the time and also i LOVED the transformations. Dragoons are about the coolest thing to hit the gaming system. Darts Red-Eye Dragoon was the koolest spirit. The only reason i liked it more then the Divine one was cuz of the looks. I tot he looked a little to bigg and also he was supposed to hav 7 wings and he had only 6.
Out off all my characters Dart and Rose were the best. And my third party member was Albert cuz i liked his additions cuz haschels got annoyin after a while and kongol didnt hav many, Meru didnt hav any HP and was too weak and i just couldnt stand merinda. She was too annoying. The only one thing i didnt like about this game was Lloyd. I mean come on he is the coolest character ever and we didnt get to use him. And then he dies to so that was just too gay. So if they do make LOD 2 they should definatelly put Lloyd in it. OR it would be cool if the just made a remake for this one on the PS 2. And if u could get Lloyd either after u beat him or after u beat the game that u get New Game+. So this game is waaaaaaaay better then all the final fantasys and they should hav a second one or a remake.

Music: Ok, but felt wrong, could have been better.
Storyline: Awesome.
Battles: Loved them, the Additions I found were a nice and innavative touch. They alone made the game popular to me.
World Map: Like other world maps, a world map.
I loved the game. The story line was awesome, new. The graphics, well, I'm not sure what to compare them to, but they were ok. The world map, was a world map. My favorite part was the additions. You had to time every attack just so to get either a huge amount of damage, or a small amount or damage, depending on what you were aiming for. The additions are pretty much what made my rating a 9, I loved it. The music... You know, copies off the FF series, oh well, still good. FF is good. The game made ya think. That's hard to do and keep people happy, so there's a big one. An irony, but for a short time I thought The Legend of Dragoon WAS one of FF series, except better. I kept getting it and FF9 mixed up. So... altogether, it coulda been better, but it's still awesome. THE LEGEND OF DRAGOON RULZ!

this game is the best game i have ever played i first played it 2 years ago ive beat it sooo!! many times the laser in my playstation cut into the disks so i had to buy a hole new game but anyway this game is the best ive ever played and beleve me ive beat a bunch of games and none of them were as exiting as this one the graphics on this game rock the music was ok
right now it takes me 4 hours to complete the first 2 disks it takes me 5 hours to complete the other two including melbu frahma (final boss just incase you didnt know who i was talking about) my highes charicter stats were dart LV60 rose LV60 albert LV59 kongol LV60 miranda LV55 hashkl(spelling??) the dragoon tranzformation waz cool the atacks were beter than most games i have played the movies have the best graphics out of the whole game and any other game i have played all the movies on this game were great the one at the end was my favorite where dart's dad and rose finaly get back together and help to defeat melbu frahma my second favorite is when the divine dragon atacks denigrad he is the coolest dragon on the game when dart gets the divine dragon trazformation his divine dragon cannon was the coolest atack i have ever seen his divine dragon ball was pretty good to they both do huge ammounts of damage so after he gets the divine dragon trazformation the game gets even cooler (and i thought that was imposible when i first started T H I S G A M E R U L Z !!!!!!!!

The Legend of Dragoon doesnt make any sense, in my oppinion it sounds better saying Legend of the Dragoon... I just started playing this game, and so far i really like it, my chars are only lvl 20 :P, and right now im on the ghost ship trying to get that damn combo for that chest...(if any of u kno the combo send it to me at mocho_man36< remove me > at hotmail.com pllzzz :P) But yea, neways, i love this game so far...the graphics are kinda good...just like FF9, the graphics in the gameplay are all cut, but the movies arent, they're all perfect :P, hmm yea, so i love it, and anyone who doesnt, can suck a big fat one...u kno what i mean! SO yea, all rpg's rule, the FF's are ok..the only one i didnt like was ff8...i tried it at my friends house and hated that game...the only ff's i really like are ff7 and ff9..beat both of em of course...so easy

At first i am a big fan of Final Fantasy but now i am a big fan of The Legend of Dragoon when my cousin introduce to me(I am stilll a fan of Final Fantasy).This game is more better and fun than Final Fantasy.This is the best rpg game that i ever play in my life!I had played 8 times already.It is the first rpg game that i play for 8 times!

You people are stupid for saying "Oh this game is nothing compared to FF7, the story is crap, the game play is crap, the music is crap, the scenes are crap, blah blah blah blah blah." This game is almost exactly like FF7 as far as graphics and sound.
First off, the good.
This game is, in my opinion, very entertaining and quite possibly rivals FF7 (it beats FF8 by eleventy billion points).
I don't fall for "Ooh! Ahh!" graphics. Frankly, I don't care. Yes, good looking graphics make for a good looking game, but the gameplay itself should be the number one priority in judging a game; what do you spend the most time doing? Playing the friggin game, and the graphics don't hinder your progress in the long-run.
I saw this story to be a fresh, imaginative plot. Much like the plot of FF7, which was also new and exciting.
As for the game play (i.e. battle system, abilities, attributes, etc.), I found it to be creative and new. There were good and bad. The "uber weapon with a bad side" found in the Soul Devourer made you think twice before equipping it when long battles were coming up. This alone scored points, forcing you to strategize about your fights based on your surroundings and locations, items, equip, party members, etc. The additions were a nice touch, considering the enemy could counter at any moment. However, the additions were rather difficult at times, and frustrating when you're trying to keep up with the timing. The Dragoon additions are by far the most difficult, at least for me.
Sound was pretty good. It doesn't sound so MIDI like FF7, particularly in battles. Maybe its just me. Some of the sound and music was a lot like FF7, but you just have to accept the fact that games copy things from other games, and the fact a game borrows something from another game shouldn't determine how good or bad it is.
Characters were cool. I don't get into the whole "This person is good because blah blah blah" thing. I think the characters were balanced and well planned. The fact there's 3 healers total (Shana, Meru and Miranda), a secondary healer (Rose), and characters with status healers and party buffers and stuff makes this game seem more unlike "equip hero with best_weapon_01 and best_magic_01 and skip everyone else's turn" with every passing moment. They look like they actually have useful armor, unlike some spikey haired hero in a purple cloth suit that comes to mind. Don't get me wrong, I love FF7, but it's not the greatest game that makes all other games look like trash.
Anyways, I only have 2 beefs with this game... The cut scenes you have to sit and watch, and Dart. His name, his naiveness, bah. He bugs me.
This is a solid RPG that's definitely worth a play. It's challenging and fun and it actually makes you think (God forbid). As for my comment on this blowing FF8 out of the water, anything could easily blow FF8 out of the water. 1 word best describes why I hate FF8... "Draw," followed by "Cards," "Story," and "(Last) Battle." There's no excuse as to why I was able to beat the final boss countless times without a single casualty. That's just dumb.
Back on track here, this game is good. Go give it a try.

This game totally rocks, in my mind this game holds its own with that of final fantasy 7 & 8, it has a great storyline, fighting style, and you get hooked very easily. One of the things that I still talk about, with ps2 and x-box already out, was the movie after the ghost ship, havent seen a better movie on ps, ps2,x-box, or gamecube, ever. This helps you understand why i love this game so much. It also makes the history better and makes the game more believe-able.the only other thing i can say is.... MAKE ANOTHER ONE!!!!! I'm tried of playing the ff series. Speaking of which, i believe LOD is totally orginal, not every main character with blonde hair is cloud, that got me kinda pissed off it has its own, original storyline(a better one in my opinion) P.S. if u dont like the music of LOD ware some head phones with Smashmouth on,its chemistry is great. Other than that it IS one of the greatest games of its time. The Legend of Dragoon totally blows the competition away.

This will be the best game you will ever play. When I got the game I stade up to 1:30am then stoped. The end sucks cuz rose and Dart's father dies. the first and second disk took me 2 days and third and fourth took me 4 days.
dart was level 42.
rose was level 38.

albert was level 34.

so be carefull you will get hooked to this game. If you beat fuast you get Darts strongest weapon and lots of cool armor, but you need all the stardust so i need anyone who knows where all the stardust is to tell me like that i can fight faust and get on with the game. the stardust is needed to trade to a lady who needs and will give you a dispell illusion stone and other interesting things and with the stone Fuast wont be an illusion anymore and you can actually hit h9im to kill him.so if you need help with the game ill swap answers with you for the stardust locations or just please help me my email is shakiralover001< remove me > at hotmail.com please someone help[ me i want to finish this side quest.So remmeber i know lots of things and i can help you if you help meand again this the greatest game ever im addicted to it. This game was alot of fun. I had wanted to play it since it first came out, but never got the time to get it. Now That I have it I love the game. Though I feel the graphics could have been improved more so then what they had.But it is still an enjoyable game. The Dragoon form is very cool, the way you can build up their Dragoon form. Espicaly at Lavitz death I hope that they decide to make a sequal to this highly action backed video game. The only change I can see them making besides the graphics, is the shared EXP. SO I keep hoping that there will be a sequal and I hope it will be soon. If they really try hard enough I belive that, Legand of Dragoon can become just as successful as the Final Fantasy series. That's what else that was good about the game it broke away from the Final Fantasy type set up of most Role Playing Games. There are no summons, no magic unless in dragoon form. No member of your team seems to act or sound like he/she could have come from Final Fantasy. Oh yeah there is no one named Cid either.

i just bought this game about a week ago and i almost didnt get it. i didnt have enough money but my dad pitched in and we havent stopped plain it since. it was currently used but it hasent messed up yet, but it still could saying im only on disk 2. i give everything on this game a 10/10 so far but i dont think my oppinion will change. i cant tell u if it is better than any of the final fantasy games because ive only played 3 or 4 i dont remember which one.if any body knows any cheats like ones that would make your level dragoon or regular go all the way up and still looks at this site please e-mail me at bdporter777< remove me > at cs.com
i think there could be less monsters that fight you when your walking around though. that is the only bad thing about this game i can think of. those japs are really good at making games ill tell you what. it also could cut back on the weird sounds and weird music though. other than those 3 things i really love this game. its also really hard to find stardust. if any body knows how much stardust there is you have to find and what you get when you find it all please e-mail me

Legend of the Dragoon was an "okay" game. The fighting was that great. I think they could have done better. Personally, the game is very similar to Final Fantasy games, which is not bad. I don't think its a rip off.
I would much prefer if the game was made into the Game boy advance than playstation. It was sort of a challenge, it was easier than any other Final Fantasy or playstation games. This wasn't the worst playstation game I've played.
As for the graphics, they weren't that good, but they were understandable. I mean, in most games, you can't even make out their faces. But, I promised myself I wouldn't compare and look at me.
The music, this I didn't like. The music for the boss battles and or regular battles, I felt, didn't fit. It sounded as if it were nothing. I think they could have done better with that.
The story was alright. It wasn't complexing or hard to understand. It was a good idea.
I felt that their was little action or it wasn't as satisfying.
The gameplay was good also, one thing I did not like was when you had to go through a place you've already been to get to a new place.
Over all, this game was good. I'd probably would attract more attention to a younger audienance instead of older people.
