This will be the best game you will ever play. When I got the game I stade up to 1:30am then stoped. The end sucks cuz rose and Dart's father dies. the first and second disk took me 2 days and third and fourth took me 4 days.
dart was level 42.
rose was level 38.
hachel was level 41.
kongol was level 39.
meru was level 37.
albert was level 34.
miranda was level 29.HA
this game is the best. I got it at ebgames for $22.99 (CAN)
so be carefull you will get hooked to this game. Final fantasy games dont even come near to this game . so never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever say that legend of dragoon sucks. Who ever says that it sucks they suck.I can't beleive that you must right more than 200 words. Is this an essay or what. why wont they just let us right. Anyway get legend of dragoon.My friend ceeps calling me over to play the game. But finaly he got his own copy of legend of dragoon. All I have to say about this game is that this game is the best RPG game I ever played. The grapfics are great for PS1 and the storyline to the game is great. Gaining levels for the characters take a bit long because they split the exp. between the characters but thats ok. Acually in my opinion the characters are great but when I read in some of the reviews some people were saying that some of the characters were bad which they are correct but if you level them up pretty good they would be a little better. I understand miranda is bad but she is acually good to heal your characters if your characters are running low in health. But anyways I've played this game for about 53 hours and I'm going to play it again because it is a great game and its my favorite.
If anybody is going to get this game get it because its best for your money and it is a extreamly great game and if you do get it it will take a long time to beat it but by the time you beat it, you will want to play it again like I did. A hint for you, you have to read in order to know what your doing. The reason why i'm telling you this because I got stuck and after a while of trying to figure it out, I found out I didn't read very well so thats why I got stuck. Anyways I hope this review helped you.

The Legend of Dragoon is the best game ever. If you dis this game, I have one thing to say: GET MENTAL HELP!!!! YOU MUST HAVE BEEN BLINDFOLDED WITH YOUR FINGERS IN YOUR EARS WHILE YOU WERE PLAYING!!! This game can bring anyone to tears, that is, unless you are heartless or just cheated your way through the entire game.
When characters die or are replaced, you almost feel like it's a completely different character (even though the new ones inheiret all the stats from the old ones).
If nothing else, Dragoon is the best game ever because of the pure emotion at the end. I won't ruin it for the losers that beleive all that crap about a rip off of the Fianal Fantasy games. All in all, Dragoon is the best for its CG's, plot development, attacking sequence, and, most importantly, the fact that the crew at PlayStation could make a movie or a sequel (which would be the most awsome thing EVER!).
P.S. You guys at PlayStation are better than anyone else, but I won't say any names (*coughMicrosoftXBox).

LOD is awesome. I'm only on the 3rd disc since i cant get past the monster with the dragon block staff (if anyone can give me some tips on it, send me an email plz ive been trying for forever). So far the plot has been interesting and the characters are ok. Graphics are really cool for PS1. Battles are usually real easy except for the one im doing now. Dart is the best character for battles along with Rose. SHANA ANS MIRANDA SUCK FOR BATTLES. SO does haschael but at least he has some cool dragoon attacks! The ghosts on the ship on disc 2 were hard at first. But there easy to beat. Since i havent finsished the game yet im thinking shanas going to die or somthing. Lavitz died when albert came and now mirandas here..... I think the best people for battle are probably dart,rose,kongol (sometimes albert). Shana and miranda are so weak its pathetic. Hashcael additions suck but he has some good dragoon attacks. Albert is the best out of those 4 because he does the most damage out of them though his dragoon attacks sort of suck. So far my characters are Dart:26 Rose:23 Kongol:22 Albert:22 Shana:22 Miranda:23 hashcael:24. Also what does it mean when the monster with the dragon block staff does that attack "level go down". Does the level your currently at go down.. IF anyone can help me i would reallly appreciate it along with any other tips for the monsters ahead. thanks ( if you email me label it LOD plz) If your into stuff like this game try the online RPG dragonrealms its really cool (play.net/dr)

this game is the best game i have ever played i first played it 2 years ago ive beat it sooo!! many times the laser in my playstation cut into the disks so i had to buy a hole new game but anyway this game is the best ive ever played and beleve me ive beat a bunch of games and none of them were as exiting as this one the graphics on this game rock the music was ok
right now it takes me 4 hours to complete the first 2 disks it takes me 5 hours to complete the other two including melbu frahma (final boss just incase you didnt know who i was talking about) my highes charicter stats were dart LV60 rose LV60 albert LV59 kongol LV60 miranda LV55 hashkl(spelling??) LV58 Meru LV59 lavitz LV35
the dragoon tranzformation waz cool the atacks were beter than most games i have played the movies have the best graphics out of the whole game and any other game i have played all the movies on this game were great the one at the end was my favorite where dart's dad and rose finaly get back together and help to defeat melbu frahma my second favorite is when the divine dragon atacks denigrad he is the coolest dragon on the game when dart gets the divine dragon trazformation his divine dragon cannon was the coolest atack i have ever seen his divine dragon ball was pretty good to they both do huge ammounts of damage so after he gets the divine dragon trazformation the game gets even cooler (and i thought that was imposible when i first started T H I S G A M E R U L Z !!!!!!!!

I have played through this game and beaten it 3 times. I leveled all my characters and got all level 5 dragoons for everybody. I have played final fantasy 7,8, and 9 but The Legend of Dragoon is still my favorite because of the additions. I have played a long time on this game and I still love it and don't find any reasons not to buy it except for no pausing. The graphics are good for a playstation game but the cutscenes are the best on the playstation. My sister's friend gave me this game and I played the game as soon as I got home. It is hard to compare The Legend of Dragoon to Final Fantasy 7 because these two games are are both my two favorite RPG's. I have played both of them for over 300 hours. If you have never played an Role Playing Game before you need to. These games are meant to be played hours on end. Bottom line is you need to play Legend of Dragoon because of the cutscenes and the additions and definatly the story. I give this game a 10. Legend of dragoon is in my opinion the best RPG since Final fantasy VII. If you were disapointed from Final fantasy 8 (like i was) The legend of dragoon is just the thing you need.
It's just a Final fantasy 7 style RPG.
And the garphics are second to none, at least for an RPG.
I highly recomend you to buy this game, and as soon as possible.
PS. Station play is the best website for the Sony playstation's games.

This game might be like every other game but it has something no one else dose. That is the dragoon change and fighting style. It is cool and your not sure what's coming up next. I like the ability to change chracters and they have alot of characters to choose from. They don't have very many minigames but they make up for it when they show the movies. I think this game has the best graphics out of all the RPG's I played and not only during the movies the backrounds are amazing. Well I think if you want something to make you stand up in the end and cry then this is the game for you. Oh, and the only reason you'll be crying is because the game is over and you done with it.

The legend of the dragoon has some pretty good graphics, its impossible to go to the wrong area, and although most reviews say it's bad I SUGGEST TRYING IT! please rent it at least, okay. The main character is a warrior who lost his family to a monster known as The Black Monster wich appeared 11,000 years ago. Dart ,the main character, swears to get revenge on the black monster. In his new home Seles Dart met a girl named Shana, he left to get revenge and left his bestfreind shana in seles to wonder why. five years later a war had struck the country and when Dart retuns to seles it's been burned to the ground, and Shana has been captured. Sorry got a little off what I meant to be saying. the graphics off the legend off the dragoon are definately better than FF7, the story is most likely better as well, also it's a much tuffer game to get by on makeing its self more challenging than FF7, and 8. again the story line is the best in the east and the west. the idiea off additons I think is better than the normal 1-4 hits of FF7. anyways please buy, or rent it because i've only told the very least of how good it is. thank you for reading and I hope you haer me out!

This game is alot of fun because of it's new attack system and because of the Additions that you can get the cinematics were alright but for all you ff fans you know that ff titles have way better and longer cinematics. the graphics kinda SUCK but aren't super bad. The Dialoge is a little small for the those people with glasses. I would say that this game is a good game to play if you're more an action game player instead of an RPGer. I would like to see the ff series use this type of battle system, they would then be able to sell this to a larger group of people.And for you who say this game blows all ff's out of the water I would fist suggest you try the whole ff game instead of only not gettin past the first. I do like this game but it doesn't match up with the ff series YET but could easily do so if square soft doesn't make a new battle system soon like in FFX.

I really liked this game, even if almost every body says that it sucks I don’t care.
First of all every one says that it is no FF VII well du does it say Final Fantasy VII on the box NO.
Others say that the game is a knock off that they got their ideas form other games or cartoons. Well for all you smart people out there no crap they got there ideas from some where else every idea that you or some one else can think of will have all ready have been used. Some say that the characters just like FFVII dart has spiky hair and so does cloud. Oh no not that!! I can think of at least 10 games that has characters with band aids on there face.

What is wrong with all you Legend of Dragoon Haters??!! This is the most awesome RPG game that I have ever played. The addition system is great. The German guy is right when he says that a lot of people are lazy. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this game. Lavitz's death did kinda suck, but I like King Albert more than Lavitz anyway so it worked out fine. People who tal crap about Legend of Draggon need to get their heads checked 'cause they are full of sh*t.

Dragoon was a well thought out came all though it was really easy. Did anyone else find that they didn't have to transform into a Dragoon ONCE during the last battle? Anyway...the graphics were really good a far cry above those on FFVII, about on par with FFVIII. They seemed to be able to fit a TON of gameplay on each disc, which was really nice. The translation was really weak however. I actually found myself laughing at the poor translation when I should have been concerned for the characters! I don't really think that Dragoon is a blatent rip off of FFVII. The whole child hood friend in love with the dashing hero storyline is so played. Even BEFORE FFVII. Get over it, you guys. The game was overall pretty fun to play. I think that the creators took down the battle challenge factor because of the intorduction of additions. I don't think that they knew gamers would pick it up so well. The additions thing really did improve the battles and made them MUCH more fun than some of the FF series. Over all the game is very playable (even if the Shana Dart relationship does feel fake!)

I've gone around the page reading all the ratings various people gave and a few caught my eye. Particularly the ones that gave Dragoon a one-star rating. I was completely amazed at the one titled "crap' written by cecil. I disagreed with ALMOST EVERY SINGLE THING about Legend of Dragoon that he said. He said it was unrealistic. I think it's just as realistic as other RPGs (Final Fantasy seiries, Wild Arms 1 and 2, and Legend of Legaia for starters).
He said there was bad voice acting. I thought all the voices were good and in character. I personally am pleased that there was any voice acting to begin with. Voices are very rare to begin with. I can only think of three RPGs that use voices regularly (Dragoon, Legend of Legaia, Brave Fencer Musashi).
Let's see... what's next, bad graphics. EXCUSE ME??? The backgrounds are beautiful and the characters are fairly detailed.
The only concievable place with bad graphics is the people in the normal field play.
I'm not even going to touch on the music but I do believe that it flowes and is appropriate for each dungeon/battle.
The battle system was revolutionary with the additions and Spirit Points while the battle indicator (the spinning triangle that is above Dart's head that is either blue, yellow, or red) is very helpful and turning into Dragoons is cool looking and original.
The only fault I can find is that it's too easy. Hence the 9. Yes many ideas were taken from Final Fantasy 7 but that is for one simple reason. They worked. I engoyed the similarities for the sheer nostalgia of it as Final Fantasy 7 is my fav game Dragoon being #2.
I don't mean to be picking on one review but the other trashing ones were pretty identical. And besides that one gave me a headache.

Ok. Whats this whole deal about it being compared to Final Fantasy???? I think this blows the lid off of RPGS completely. The graphics, movies, battle system, I could go on forever listing the good things about this game. Most people have gotten use to the stupid Final Fantasy Series, which I do like but these people look for things to compare this game to, to make Legend of Dragoon look bad. Oh big deal Dart has blond hair like cloud!!!! Who gives a crap,I mean should he have purple hair??!! I mean its like saying that if I have blond hair and you do, then you copied off of me!!! If you guys don't like the game so what, sony helped make FF 5,6,7,8,9,10, and soon 11 and they also made LOD. All they did was take ideas. So I think those people should shut up because they have no idea what the hell they are talking about.
