To all of you out their that say LOD is nothing but a FFVII rip off, answer me this. If the games are so similar then why did I love LOD and totally despise FFVII. Thats right all you Square fans, I HATE FFVII. It has ruined the genre. The addition system is a little hard to get used to but take the time to figure it out and its a blast. Not having to work for damage is not only a cop out but its boreing. DOn't get me wrong with the exception of VII and VIII I love FF. The few of you out thier that don;t like the game for reasons other than it threatens FF, you are entitled to your opinion. Those of you that hate it because many of us prefer it to FF, GROW UP. Yah the maney thing is irritating but its more real that way. The lack of money and 32 item limit make the game harder. LOD is the first RPG in years that it took me more than two sittings to beat. No the graphics are'nt FFVII and certainly not FFVIII but is that what it is really about? The only real draw back I have seen is the dividing of experience.
Any way I love the game. The story is wonderful and the charators interact very well. THe additions add to the game in my opionion. Fix the experience and it would be perfect. I will be chomping at the bit for the sequal.

First of all I thought that the graphics could have used a little work, but they were good enough that it didn't ruin the concept of the game. Also the battle system was awesome (way better than the FF series). But it all comes down to the storyline. The story I thought was one of the best that could be written for any game. It made you feel like you were living the life of Dart. There were some flaws however. Since the game was basically about Dart's life you don't really learn much about the other character's.
What I think would make the game better is if they had voices instead of the little word boxes at the bottom of the screen. The little talk that was done in a persons voice doesn't really get the attention of most gamers. Personally though I thought the game was extremely thought out and that the producers of the game should be very proud of themselves. The Legend of Dragoon is one of the best RPG's made in the 20th century and probably will be for many years. I know most people think the FF series is better and I agree, but Ledgend of Dragoon will always keep its place among the greatest.

Legend Of Dragoon is my favorate game next to SSX Tricky but I give this game a 10. This is the best and I mean the best RPG I have ever played only that I am at the Valley Of The Corupted Gravity on the second disk. I bought this game about a month ago, and I have not slept untill i got to the final boss. The Legend of Dragoon is the BEST rpg i have played in my life, and the additionals are truly an innovative way to keep your interest in the battles, and the dragoon transformations are a work of art, a definate 10 out of 10, and i have have played quite a few rpg's

It's good,but the fact that wepon images dont change and you follow a set path in the world map sucks so does the fact that their is no hidden characters also sucks I love additions and Stardust. The cost of weapons is odd seeing as you get only 20 gold a fight

The new consept of addition is very cool that makes it very different from Final Fantasy where you just press ,attack and it always do the same attack. Also the dragoon thing is very cool. You can choose from magic to attack,and you do the whole difference on your attack. You also have magic items that, to increase the power, you have to press x really fast for a better attck My brother said that final fantasy is the original RPG and this is a total ripp of. But I say that there is absolutely no ripp of. Ledgend of dragoon is a completly new kind a game. The grafics are really goods the only things I dislike are that you can only have 32 items and that you have too much caracter to play with so some will level up more often than other

I liked this game though it kind of resembled Final Fantasy 7 it was still a cool game in that, but it had good bosses i did like the graphics but not the story line it wasnt enough. I didnt liked that lavitz died I thought lavitz was sweet and they go ahead and killed him off which sucked. I like the dragoon forms and the magic they had, I really like the game.

Everybody should be thinking diferently! Legend of Dragoon is not a rip of of Final Fantasy. It's normal for RPG's to be alike. That's why everybody loves these games. If they combine the good aspects of LOD with the good aspects of FF I think we good get a pretty cool game. I mean for instants: the battle system of LOD and the 3D seroundings of FF and then both the story's toogether. Think about it. The Legend of the Dragoon itself was the greatest RPG I have ever played, when I started to play I was just complitely dragged in with the story, so I just couldn't stop playing. Just now I have finely played it out. And now I'm bored so I'm just going to play it again. I never had the urge to play a FF game again. Legend of the Dragoon has something special I can't say what it is, but it's there. I'm starting a site about Legend of the Dragoon so when it's finnished please come and take a piek. If you don't have the game yet BUY IT.

Ok. It started out great and ended kick a**. Why, you ask is it so great? Well the transformations, volcals, graphics, characters - need I continue?! I'm a writer. Not very common in a teenager if you ask me, but ive published. Ive been thinking on wrighting a book on this plot.Silly of course but creative in mind. ****I'd give it Two thumbs up!!!****

Quit basing this game on other games would you guys just for a few... This game was started before many FF games. Where in FF7 do you get to do many hit combo's?? Can be annoying if you can get them, but that is the fun of learning. The level system is better also, you dont finish the game off at level 99, this game is based more on REAL RPG, you know the ORIGINAL D&D! Not some twisted sci-fi rip off of D&D. This game has good graphics, but graphics dont make game. Look at FF8 great graphics, story line was worse than 7's but all in all I think Legend of Dragoon has been one of the few good RPG's produces since the Nintendo day of Dragon Warrior. If you dont like the game then go get some poor story line, good graphic that is a rip off of what RPG should be made of. I wish people would put more into storylines and less into graphics...

The legends of dragoon is a r.p.g. fans dream. You will find the story inspiring; it will arouse your imaganation as it will take you to a land far away, and lead you on a quest that you will never forget. You will find the attacking setup challenging but fun, overall i'm saying is it is a great game. Out of the fifty games I own it is buy far one of the BEST!

First of all i am going to comment on the fact that this game does have a gf type figure and ne one that says that it doesn't is horribly mistaken and i think hasn't even beat the game past disc one and then my friend you are pathetic. This game has many mini quests that fit well into the ultimate plot. That graphics where the best for when it came out so you have to give it some credit there. In my opinion it is the second best game i have ever played. It is up there with Zelda, Devil may cry and Final Fantasy. ANd just to give some tips to you people that are playing it for the first time or eeven there 10th time the best party to have in the end is Dart, Rose and Albert. Lod rocks! Its way better than final fantisy. I watched my friend play it, It was'nt that good. I dont know why people are dissing this game. It rocks!! The only thing that i dont really like is that it only can hold 32 things. I restart games to see how fast i can do them. my fastest time was 37 hours. The grapics are cool, and so is the music. Lod rocks!!!

i don't know what the h*** is wrong with you people! stop comparing this game to ff7 and just try to enjoy it for what has to offer. so after ff7 it is a rip off if two of the main characters fall in love or the bad guy has silver hair? take a look all the rpgs out there and you'll see that most of the time the two main characters fall in love. well anyway lets talk about lod. the graphics are good and the cgs are awesome. the music is also good. the combat is pretty original and fun but sometimes frustrating. the story line is pretty good .also i like the medievel type setting. the characters looked cool. also if you look at rpgs you will see that a party of characters will consist of the hero has uses a sword and falls in love with the main girl character, a fighter, the girl character who loves the hero, the giant, the cheerfull girl, the dark and mysterious character, the magician, and can't think of any more. usually the characters have more the one trait that is listed above. also the weapens used by the characters will be a sword, spear, hands, axe or something of that nature, magic, and a bow or a gun. ff7 has that and so does lod and so do some other rpgs like suikoden, star ocean 2, ff8, ff9, and some others. so stop comparing lod to other games and onjoy it. by the way it 8 out of 10 because of the g** d*** 32 items!!!!!

I found my response to this game to be somewhat mixed. The originality of the Dragoons is great and very refreshing (after having played FF) but there were just too many things I found annoying. For example, with the volume of items you can acquire, only being able to carry 32 items is highly frustrating. Also, the game is way to complex. There are so many characters to develop and the combination skills, though original, are very hard to do with some characters. The storyline is somewhat confusing at times but has several nice twists (i.e. The Black Monster being good not evil) and it is very thorough. I must admit I have not completed the game, though I'm on Disc 4, I found I lost interest and did not feel attached enough to the characters to want to finish it. Overall, a good attempt but it will never be a "classic".

When me and my sister bought this game, we had no idea what we were getting into. We started it the following day, just to check it out, and ended up playing for almost six hours! We were hooked. Though I haven't quite finished it yet, I say it's the best RPG game I've ever played. Going against some of thereveiws I've read, I'd say that LOD is the best RPG game I've ever played. The little movie parts they played were great. I like all the characters, but I think Lloyd or Rose might be my personal favorite. The character developement is pretty good, though a lot of people say the brother-sister antics of Dart and Shana's relationship gets a little annoying. The only reason I give this a game a 9 outta ten is because the music does tend to get a little monotonous and irritating;). Otherwise, I would recommend this game to anyone!

I've been playing RPG's since i was like 4 i am now 17 and Legend of the Dragoon takes the cake as to the best one. Yes for all of you ff freaks i have played them and this game is considerably better in almost every way. Lets start with the battles the additions let you get more focused on the battles and it awesome to see them transform the magic is a bit sucky compared to that of other RPG's but everygame has its bad part. Next lets move to the graphics not many games besides maybe FF8 on psx have this good of graphics for both walking around and battling. For me this game kicks other RPG's in the nuts and dares them to fight it is totally kick ass.

I think that Ledgend of the Dragoon is as good as Playstation games get. I realy got into the game I found myself playing it for hours and making my parents rent it all the time (almost every day).The story line of the game is very interesting and if you play the game you would get sucked into the world of the Dragoons. Sometimes I would just try to get there power levels up before I whould get to a end person. I have finished the game a couple of times but all I do is just wait for a couple of months and just start it all over again. I also wish there would be a sequal to this awsome game

Alright, i'm gettin kinda tired about this whole ff7 thing. LOD is FAR from being FF7.
1. Is there a rule or something that if the main character has spikey blonde hair he's Cloud's copy? There are thousands of stories with blonde guys falling in love with sensitive brown haired girls. Shana doesn't use her fists, she uses her bow. She's a crappy fighter, Tiffa was actually good at kicking othere people's butts.
2. I see no resemblance in Kongol and Berret or whatever his name is whatsoever. Kongol is a lost race and he doesn't speak properly. He doesn't cuss and he doesn't get over excited. May I go on? I think they just said this cause they were both dark skinned and buff.
3. I admit there is some similarity of Meru and Yuffie, but hey, Meru has her own story that is completely unlike Yuffie's. Is she supposed to be a copy of Yuffie just because she's hyper and really energetic?
4. Lloyd and Sephiroth. We could go back and forth about this all day long. Sephiroth went crazy. Lloyd was deceived. I see a difference. Lloyd became good in the end. Sephiroth didn't. Lloyd still had a heart and saved Wink a couple of times for no reason. Sephiroth wanted to destroy the world, Lloyd didn't. He wanted the world to have peace. Again, there is no reason to call Lloyd a clone just because he looks similiar.
5. Anyone wanna explain to me how anything else could possibly look like FF7? And i'm not sure of this, infact, I'm kinda still wondering about this, but did FF8 come before or after LOD? I'm not sure cause I only bought LOD after the ps2 came out :)Ha! All you suckers spent 30-40 dollars on the game while I only have to spend 14!
But anyways, all in all, this game is very good. The only problem is the item limitations and the additions become frustrating sometimes when you can't pull them off. The voice overs are forgivable.

The legend of dragoon is the best game I've ever played. Usually I stink at playing games like this but this game was an exeption. I really loved the story line and how you gathered information by bits and pieces and then you learned somethhing that led up to another plot. The originiality of this game was fantastic. I may not have beaten it or even gotten past the second winglie fight but overall it's an amazing game and nothing else Iv'e playedhas compared up to it. But on the other hand I have not yet played a Lord of the Rings game.
