Best game ever | | Deargdoom from Bandon Ireland says (23/Jun/2004): | This is the best game I've ever playe, way better than 8,9 or 10. The graphics aren't great, sure, but you don't notice it that much because the rest of the game is so great. As for people who thought it was too long, where's the fun in a game you beat the first time you play it. And there are so many sidequests and things to find, you just have to keep coming back to play it. And while Sephiroth wasn't too hard at the end, he was by far the best villain in any game anywhere. Also, if you want hard bosses, try Emerald and Ruby WEAPON on for size. Really, really hard, way harder then Sephiroth. The storyline is too good to describe, you just have to play the game yourself. Also, in the FMVs, the graphics are as good as most other games I've seen. And the heroes are all really cool. The love triangle between Cloud, Tifa and Aeris is really interesting, and the tragedy (won't say what, don't want to ruin it for people yet to play it)really, really makes you hate Sephiroth. All the characters have a history and a reason to fight beyond "The world is in danger, let's save it" and they are developed brilliantly, with crucial facts placed at just the right points in the story. My title sum's it up: Best game ever!

If you've ever gotten to the end and eliminated Sephiroth, you'll know what I mean. But first theres the bad things, there are plenty of them.
Ofcourse the graphics are, except when you are in the midst of battle, atrocious. Also, unlike in Final Fantasy X, the only way you can understand what the characters are saying is by reading the text at the bottom of the screen. If you don't like long games you will definetly not the game for you, since it has 3 discs that, except from the last one, are quite long. But the story is so good, you really don't care if the graphics are blocky or that there is no voice-acting. The music and sound are great aswell, so who cares if the people look like lego.
Since it was released seven years, you should be able to get it for around £15.00, which is a great low price for a classic. In my opinion, this is the best RPG ever made by Square, but it is a bit of a disappointment when you see the graphics.
| Pure class! | | john the great from reading england says (3/May/2004): | final fantasy 7 is the best game i've ever played, the best game in the series (but they are all amazing) and the best game ever!. final fantasy 7 is a very exciting,funny,interesting game. it is exciting from the first cut-scene to the final cut-scene. this game has everything you've got the main game with one of the best storylines ever and you have the gold saucer which has funny and fun mini-games also during the game you have some hilarious side-quests e.g. in the slums at midgar you hav 2 dress up as a women just to save one of your allies!. the characters on this game have interesting history's as well as cool and powerfull limit breaks and each charatcer has a vast selection of great weapons such as the heavens cloud, there is lots of magic you can use as well as some amazing soummon monsters like bahumut, there is also well crafted bosses and monsters. the only downside to this game is obviously the graphics but i'd still give this game full marks thanks to the interesting storyline and gameplay but im sure if this game was re-released on ps2 it would be easily one of the best games of all time. i urge any hardcore gamer like my self to buy this game as it is fun,funny and exciting you will have hours of fun on this massive game and if you want my advise after completing this game you should buy the guide because there is so much hidden things in the game you would need the guide just to make sure you've got everything but i'd bet you wouldnt have. in conclusion you would never get bored of this game so buy now its also cheap!.
| the best game I ever played | | michael from petabourgh,ontairio says (18/Apr/2004): | Final fantasy 7 was the best final fantasy thier is for the playstation.Here are somethings you might have missed in the game.In clouds hometown go into the shinra manson and go to the second floor and turn left go to the room with the safe in it go to the safe and press X.Then go to right 36 left 10 right 58 and right 97 this will open the safe but you have to be very quick at opening the safe becuse you only have 20 seconds to open the safe but when you open the safe you will get atacked if you beat the monster pick up everything then go downstairs and go to the very first door the one thats not at the end of the hall.After you get in thier go over to the coffen and press X the guy will come out of the coffen.The game will give you two choices pick talk about sepheroth after your done that he will go back into his coffen.Then you go back up to the coffen and press X he will come out of the coffen again.The game will give you two more choices pick whats your name then leave the room and start heading out of the building well your doing this the guy will come out and join your party.

Some stupid lowlife retard said what was the point of the date scene in FF7. Dude, if you can't handle a little romance, I don't know what's happening. He claims to be a "hardcore Final Fantasy fan," but all I saw was some stupid f< remove me > at #$ face who seems to be gay. Come on, a story has to have a bit of everything right. If it was just plain serious throughout the entire game, it just wouldn't seem realistic. Well, with that said, those who can't stand a little romance, either are stupid and gay or haven't gone through puberty yet. That's right you guys heard me! (wow that felt great) Anyway, the game was awesome and everything about it was great. But, see, I can't give two games the rating of 10. Nope. This game is very cool with the incredible storyline and the freak'in kick ass hell villain Sephiroth. Very nice. I enjoyed the movies and all the boss battles. What I think this game did a good job in was explaining the pasts of each individual character. I liked the all the music from the game (Nobuo Uematsu, you've done it!) and I really enjoyed the ending. I like endings that leave with questions and wanting more. What good is a game if it gives you all the answers and you can't think about it on your own. Unless your stupid and can't figure out things. I am about to say the only thing I thought about this game sucked. The final battle with Sephiroth. Too easy. At least in FF8 you had to take on Ultimecia, then Greiver(the strongest summon/GF in Squall's mind) the combination of Ultimecia and Greiver and finally Ultimecia in her final form. In FFX, see that ending was kick ass cause you fight your summons, Jecht, Seymour for the last time and Yu Yevon. But overall, FF7 stands (in my opinion) next to FFX. FF8 being my most favorite FF till now. Buy this, you'll love it damn it!! Buy it NOW!!!(I got mine for $13 bucks!) Email me for any questions or comments!

| a great game | | james guess from mobile,AL,U.S.A says (31/Mar/2004): | this game rocks, ive almost beaten it im on sephiroth but hes hard,well anyway the materia system is really cool,the storyline is really great too,great depth,and controls,the graphics are great for ps1 standards the games is just extraordinary,the ending is a cliffhangers but ya know whatt ff7 advent children the dvd is coming out this summer so even more incentive to beat the game.the worlds are huge id expect so the game is 3 discs long im gonna buy ff8 after this but this game is one of the greatest games ever to grace a game console a perfect 10 out of 10 for me this is one of if not the best game in this great series excluding kingdom heart which i have also reviewed ,if ya need any help with the game just ask because this game is schallenging at times easy at times but challenging most of the time,the bosses are great the story couldnt be better.the materia leveling up is one of a kind true to its rpg style.this game will keep you wanting more till you beat it then youll want morew more than ever,but the dvd which is then ending to this games is coming out this summer.well anyway thyre are some cons no games is perfect like why sephy so dang hard lol,ok now im serious for the people who own a next gen console the graphics will turn you off kinda cartoonie but the battle system and the beautiful cut scenes really make up for it.

in all mi ramblings i haven't even mentioned the best feature of this truly extraordinary game THE STORY though i won't spoil it for u this game will have u guessing and oohing and ahhing till the vary end ......BUY THE GAME NOW!
| the best game period!!!!!!!!!!! | | Eric Mederos from covington georgia,usa says (29/Mar/2004): | this game is the best of all final fantasy games. much better then that piece of crap final fantasy x. to me i think this game is the longest and most addicting final fantasy game square enix (squaresoft) ever made.the game play is a perfect 10. the music is very catchy and will be in your head forever and ever.the graphics are good for a playstation but the people look like they have bumb bells for arms but is still cool lookin.you get a bunch of weapons and you can name all your characters ( i named my barret donkey kong haha lol). and the boss of the whole game is setheroth the coolest of all the bosses you could fight and no other final fantasy has except losers like... all who cares. you can even play in an arcade which is cool.you get to snow board and ride motorcycles. there's a lot of machines to ride like a buggy or suberine which is cool and also you can ride chocobo's (cubby chocobo = if you don't now what that means then never mind). there is a whole bunch of summons too like ifret and shiva and a whole bunch of other ones to find and use.if you don't like rpg's and you play this you'll will love it no matter what its so fun and i recommend that everyone who reads this to go out and buy it. it's a must have game that everyone should have.if you don't have a ps2 and don't won't one then get a ps1 instead ($30).it will ony cost $50 to get ff7 and psx trust me its that good. so no excuses peoples just get it or else be a loser like everyone else who says this game sucks (which is not a lot of people and very rare for anyone to say it sucks).

Back on the game it self. The grafics are only 3/10 star material, but the game plot WOW! is perfect 10/10 star!
Also this one of those games you can't beat in a week, I'v tried, I have Gameshark. The music always has those catchy jingles I sometimes find myself humming those just before I go to sleep. You'll never find another game like, but it still has the same aspects as the other Final Fantasy's so Igive it an 8,1/2-10 stars. It's good to see actualy alot of chacters die in a game, thank god. Next I'll tell you a little somthing on each charector:)

Final Fantasy VII has beatifull music. Many placas are soo beatifull! The graphics aren't so good but it really doesn't matter.. The movies are very good bonus for the game.
There's lot of thing to do in the game. And I love those little 'jobs'. For exempel: getting the Golden Chocobo, killing Ruby 'n' Emerald Weapon, 'n' so on. I've done every singel thing what exists in the game. I wonder if theres anything more to do...
The charters are lovely. My favorite is Sephiroth. Cloud 'n' Aeris are nice too. I think Sephiroth is cute.. ;) It's sad he's suck a mad... And it isn't even his fault. heehee...Sephiroth's theme is wonderfull.
one BIG point to the Final Fantasy VII game is that Aeris dies. She's one of the most lovely charters. It's very goog idea that she gets killed by Sephiroth. In many other games the main charter never dies. But FF VII is different.
FF VII is very popular and I ain't suprised. Those who hasn't tryed playing Final Fantasy VII should really try it and fast!

It's the game that got me into the Final Fantasy genre - before buying this game in 1997, I was a casual, slightly-moronic gamer, obsessed with driving games and shoot-'em-ups. I bought FF7 because a friend told me it was an awesome driving game (sad, huh? - I didn't even check the box or ask anyone about it, I took him at face value), and I was dissapointed as hell when I found out I had 'wasted' 30 pounds. But I was determined to find a silver lining in this dark cloud (get it? CLOUD? ^.^), and I began playing that very night. I was hooked. I played it for almost ten hours straight, and I still hadn't nearly finished the first disc. The characters are perfect - none of them are cliched or unrealistic. Cloud isn't the typical vision of a Hero - not the butt whompin' hero wielding a magical blade, but a skinny, spiky-haired guy with psychological problems and an enormous sword. Barret isn't the typical vision of a 'sidekick' - an overweight black guy with a gun grafted onto his hand and a hatred unequalled regarding the Shinra corporation. The only 'cliched' character is Vincent Valentine, and that doesn't really matter because he kicks butt anyway (think black-cloaked guy with a creepy voice who can turn into a demon at will, and you've pretty much got it). So that's what got me at first - the sheer originality.
But that's not all! The game itself is so remarkably huge. It took me almost 40 hours to finish it on my first go, and I was so mesmerised by the end sequence and final battle with Sephiroth (the coolest villain OF ALL TIME, in by opinion. How can you not love him? Black-cloaked, silver-haired, masamune-wielding lunatic who gradually mutates into a foul parody of an Angel, all the time messing with the good guys minds and sneakily trying to drivem the group apart), that I began the game all over again, just for kicks. The music is superb, the fun factor is practically unequalled, and the graphics - though not perfect - are enjoyable enough, and become near-perfect in the cut sequences. I would advise ANYONE who likes RPGs - and anyone who doesn't! - to buy this game immeadiately. It came out 7 years ago (ironic, huh?) and it STILL beats most games into sheer pulp when it comes to RPGs.. or any other type of game.
BUY IT.

When I first bought the game I didn,t know it would have the legendary sephiroth in it. I fell in love with the story it was about cloud trying to figure out who he was and legandary machines called the weapon awoke to bring chaos and destrction to mankind.Plus magical sages called acients try to open up a land of peace and harmony that nobody has ever been to.There is three different weapons the ultamite weapon and diamond weapon you have to fight but the ultamite weapon stays alive but the diamond weapon will die from good old shinra will take care of him.Also there are two other extremly strong bosses called the emrald weapon and the ruby weapon. The hardest one is the emrald weapon you only have twenty minutes to destroy it unless you have a specail item.When you get the sumbmarine beware of the emrald weapon it will kill you right away with it's attacks. I hope this helps you good luck and good bye.And just for the record you can't bring Aries back to life once sephiroth kills Aeris for good.

I didn't think that any house could ever top their level of playability or immersion with character (Legend of Zelda for example), and I took every opportunity to slag off my mate for buying a playstation to begin with.
What can I say? I was hooked from the very first scene- I had never seen a game so involving or cinematic- it's like being in a movie. The first CG scene blew me away- still one of my greatest ever video gaming moments.
The reviewers who criticise the graphics are surely missing a major point- when this game was released, the graphics an(d particularly the motion capture scenes) were truly ground-breaking. The sound and music are wonderful, really capturing the spirit of the game. Story is king, and this still remains the best example of a story leading the gamer on through a quest. If it was a movie I would pay to watch it. The characters are top-notch too (has there ever been a baddie as kick-ass as Sephiroth-really?)
Overall the game design and playability are perfectly judged, and the game really isn't as difficult as people are saying (just l-o-o-n-g). This is a must-buy for any gamer, and the main reason why I will always have my playstation plugged into my tv for years to come.

First of all, I don't find walking to the Inn when your men are weak when all of a sudden a monster attacks you and its game over. Secondly, How come all of the cool players are weak!!?(Vincent, Yuffie, Cait Sith). Third, Some monsters are so strong you have to train for 2 days until you can beat him. But besides those things lies a game with cool FMV's(or whatever you call them), nice gameplay, cool story, and great charectors(even though the real cool ones suck!). | The Best RPG Ever | | X from conroe, texas says (26/Jan/2004): | Fianl Fantasy XII, sounds great, cool rpg, made by squaresoft (theres a up) and the commercials make the game look out of this world. So of course i have to have it, adds to my collection of the Final Fantasy Anthology. Iget home and begin playing it, decent grapics, really cool main character, his hot girl friend Tifa lol, and his hot headed partner Barret. Not only those three are cool, but Red XIII, and Vincent are really cool as charecters, not necessarily my playing people, but still cool creations. As im playing thru the game I see the obvious great parts, the story line is the best of any rpg, no other villan gets in your head like Sephiroth, he's just so evil!! The movies are great to, my fav is the one where the the Weapons emerge from the glacier peak, man was that bad. As in the series, the love story is great, cloud and tifa are alittle slow, but the get each other and thats the ~sniff~ romantic part of the story lol. Well other than saying how this game is just great, great, great for the next three hours, ill just go and let you get the game and see for your self how great it is, later fellow gamers.

The first FF game on the Gamecube. BUt before i got my gamecube final fantasy 7 was the best game i had and completed it 10000000000000000000 of times. I have played all the final fantasy games ( playstation 2 aswel. This game has superd graphics, sound and playability. The story line is so amazing it drags you into the world of FF and you just carnt stop playing. ITs great fun training up your character, gaining new, powerful weapons, buying magic and finding rare magic. The plot twists and turns and you find out about each of the characters backgrounds as you play threw the game. When you start you play as cloud ( a mercinary ) and you start right in the middle of a mission to blow up the reactor. The stort carries on from there but if you want a game with a story line so cunning you could stick a tale on it and a call it a wessel, you should buy this game. It has 3 disks the first disk taking about 69 hours to finninsh and thats being quik. The second disk is about the same and the last disk takes about a day to do because most of the disk uses FMV footage showing you the ending and what happens to your group of people. This game will go down as a classic.
