If you like RPG's this is as good as it gets. I played FF 8, 9, & 10 but 7 is far better then all of them combined. A EXTREME must play for anyone. This game has so many extras that aren't needed to beat the game but add an extra element to it. I have a PS2 and still haven't found a RPG that is even playable, much less a better one for it. This is about the best game i hav ever played the only one better in my opinion is final fantasy 8 with squall this guy is almost a bigger legend as cloud.The graphics are sort of lacking in the game except 4 the FMV'S but are made up for in the game play and story line.If i met one of the dudes that made this game id shake his hand and tell him hes a champ!!The only way this game could possibly be improved is if square remake it on the ps2 use better graphics and change the characters maybe take out vincient and replace him with squall.This game will almost make u feel like ur in there u actually never want it to end.Anyone that doesn't like this game has problems.I have only completed the first disc and i love this game i don't hav the other discs im looking to buy it but it is a legendary game.IF u don't own it buy it as soon as possible

Final Fantasy 7 rocks. The game has an excelent stroy line and has awsome chracters and the bosses and battles, oh my gosh. I loved it when they bought out FF7. I bought it and beat it about 4 or 5 times in about a month. That is how much I love that game. I am the master of any final fantasy game because I have beaten all of the Final Fantasy games excpet for Final Fantasy 3 about 4 or 5 times. Everything in a final fantasy game is so perfect becuase the people at square soft know what they are doing, especially when they made Final Fantasy VII.

This game had great graphics! Especially those little videos that show Cloud on a motorbike and Aeris getting killed. The storyline was easier to understand than those other ones. But what bugged me was that the sound was a little 'scratchy'. Even if it was made a long time ago, the Squaresoft Co. should've made a better sound. Oh, and if you must know, the ultimate Final Fantasy game is the 10th episode.....

This is the 9th RPG i've ever played but it's the best game ever. for one the plot of the whole story rocked harder than metallica could play. and two the side story it had i mean recriuting Vincent and Yuffie and then getting all of the materia and getting all characters to level 99 i mean the way they twist everything and they have sad part's like aeris dying i mean a main charachter just all of a sudden just die i mean out of nowhere and the way they explain each charachters story and how they always save the day and when the end battle comes and Cloud and Sephiroth fight and everything else that happens efore that and battleing the weapons considering they're so hard in my opinoin best game ever made!!!

This game is awesome the bosses are easy enough (sept for 1 not sephtheroth its in disc 1) and the gameplay is good its funny when barret wacks the dude into the wall i love this game i beat it like once or twice and its good the only thing wrong is graphics but it was for ps1 so its ok graphics and its pretty old id say this is one of the best my favorite is 10 then 9 then 7 eight is gay its so confusing well i rate Final Fantasy VII (Seven) 10/10

Final Fantasy 7 was the very first game for the playstation that I played, and I still haven't found a game that matches it in storyline, depth, or characters. When I first started to play it, my first thought was "oh no, this whole game is just gonna be going around bombing all the reactors, isn't it." But I'm happy to say it was much much more than that. As soon as I left Midgar, I knew that everything I did there was just a small part of a gigantic story that had me glued to the couch for hours on end. I once sat from 10 in the morning to 4 in the morning, doing nothing but playing it. You may think that's sad, or you may think "hey, I've done that same thing," but either way, it just shows how gripping the story is. I do admit that it bugged me how annoying Cloud was at times, or that THEY HAD NO MOUTHS!!, but once you get passed the graphics this game is the best game ever. And really, once you get into the story you don't even notice the graphics any more. Though I do think that they should remake it for the PS 2 with voice acting and much better graphics. THEN it would really be the best game. Or a movie. Could you imagine how great a FF7 movie would be? As long as they didn't twist it to be as horrible as the Final Fantay movie. That was disappointing. Blech.

The final fantasy series has always been king of rpgs. from nearly being bankrupt, square created final fantasy, and stayed alive.since then it has become one of the best gaming series out, only games like zelda can top them. i had played all FF games on nes and snes, 3 being the best of them. when ff7 was released it had alot of hype, not uncommon for a FF game. i soon found out that all that hype was for no reason. first of, the characters. lame, cloud is ok but all the rest are lame. sephiroth wants to be cool, but hes just to girly to be. all the other charas dont even seem like they fit into the same game. the graphics are bad, even for Ps standards. the charas are blocky and look like midgets on the field. the worst of all this is the story. after being 10+ hours into the game and then the story becomes clear. soon after however, it completely falls apart. it takes alot of intrest out when the story falls flat. nonetheless, it is a FF game, and the battle system is great, which makes up for the shortcomings. in reality, this is not the best FF game, RPG or best game ever, its far from any of them. anybody who thinks so is either a. has never played FFX or FF3, b.never played any other RPGs, or c. knows nothing. as far as best RPG goes, FFX holds that crown, followed by chrono trigger, and best game, zelda ocarina of time. so, if you want an amazing RPG, you wont find it here, if you want a mediocre RPG, FFVII is where its at.have fun

This game is what got me into RPGs, simply put. I've been a gamer since the Atari 2600, being 36, but I never knew the likes of an RPG till I got absorbed by my Playstation back in '96. I was an action gamer, till one day, lo and behold: I went out and bought Final Fantasy VII. This game hooked me, cat-quick, and I've been an avid RPGer ever since. Yes, I own almost every RPG now for every system, all thanks to this game. The graphics, though blocky now, were great for that time (when released in the late 90's). The greatest aspect of the game is the story; not only that, but it implements the story in between the gameplay perfectly, for a perfect balance resulting in never getting bored. Some say the game is too dramatic, but I'd have to disagree. You can "feel" these characters come to life, even the enemy, Sephiroth...trust me, after what he does you want to enact revenge so bad you can taste it. Yes, the characters are very well developed, indeed. The music is something else to behold, as are the sounds, the cinemas, the mood, and the gameplay's difficulty balance is spot-on.
Yes, 700 RPGs later, I can still say this is one of the best.

FF7 is the best final fantasy there is in the entire history of final fantasy. the storyline grabs you from the beginning and doesnt let you go. just when you think you know everything there is to know about the characters, a twist is thrown in that ties with the rest and makes it even more exciting than before. the playing graphics are kindof blockish, but the cinema graphics are just about top of the line. i love the boss battle music and the ending fight and scenario is spectacually put together and organized. i am on my 4th time beating it and i still havent gotten bored of it. when i beat it again, i am going to start over once more. i only hope that they make a remake without changing any of the story just make into PS2 graphics. this game is a die-if-you-dont-have-it game. i would recommend this game at any time to any person.

i got this game when i was 9 and im 14 and i still havent stop playin it.final fantasy games are always games that u never really put down and never play again.everyone comes back for more ff sometimes like i do.ive beaten the game only once but i have beaten the emerald weapon all i need is to kill that ruby weapon and i have officaly mastered the game,but even if you finish games they seem to come back to you.Well what more can i say??its my fave and best game ive ever played.

Words can't describe this game.I just beat after a month of hard work and it is the best RPG game ever!!! The graphics aren't that great but screw the graphics the gameplay is awesome.The music track is what I think the best ever for the Final Fantasy series.And I love how the charaters have much depth and feeling and how their pasts tie in together.Now that I beat it I feel so empty but now that I beat it I feel that part of the game is prt of me.Oh yeah just wondering at the end when there is only a endless screen of stars does something happen after a while or is it just the same?(I know the answer but if there is something please e-mail me)

Personally I think SquareSoft© is the greatest video company out there, on any game they make, Final Fantasy Just happens to be their greatest, and my absolute favorite game of all time.
My goal is to obtain every Final Fantasy Game ever made, English-Japanese.
but anyway back to the game.
The Game its self is remarkable, and the story lines are always fun, exciting and mind boggeling, and challenging to some extent.
wich is what I love about Final Fantasy.
FFVII has great graphics for its time, the music is wonderful, as it is on all FF's, they need to make a Final Fantasy Collection Set for PS2, have all games on Disc's thats what I want.
but everytime I hear Final Fantasy ** I always hope their lying lol.

I have been playing this game since it game out in 98', I just cant get enough of the great story line, and even though i have beaten it a few times, Sephroith is still a challange, and so are a few of the other boss's and i have yet to find all summons and items, and wepons, and i will still play till i find them all!!, i recomend this game to all RPG gamers, newbie or expert, it is a challange to all!!

back at 1998 my uncle had his playstation over the house so I decided to go over to block buster and rent a game and there it was brand new and unstoppable FF7.I rent it and I played it it was awsome I only got to where you must take aries to some big town I never got there.1 year later me and my dad decided to buy a playstation he got madden and I got what I wanted to have FF7 so I styarted a new game because I never had a memory card back then now I made it through and believe me you will never have a better adventure then this even though they may make better and more fun rpg games in the future but you must execpt the fact that the one that started it all was this game.When I saw barrets friends die in that explosion I was in tears (I don't care trust me you would do the same thing)then when the I saw the past of sephiroth I was scared after I saw that man beat the crap out of those monsters. then.........when I saw aries die I never been more sad and vengeance in my life.later then I found out about cloud not what he really was that was freaky.then when I found out he was the one who beat the crap out of sephiroth I was surpised!!!!!.Then when it came down to just me and sephiroth when I was about to kill him once and for all I thought about everybody.cloud aries,Especially Tifa,the group ,jesse wedge biggs(dudes those names have been familar almost every game if you think about it)when it was finally over I didn't want to think about it I wanted this game to keep going forever but then in the end you always have to say goodbye to these legends ,heros,friends.God thank you for bringing these legends to our hearts and mabye one day one day we can say hi once again until then rest easy heros and thank you for the good times.

ok ive been playing this game ever since it came out in 97 and i beaten emerald and ruby ive beaten the game many times but one thing keeps poping up at junon when you goto the underwater reacter as soon you step off the first elevator going down you get off then to the right you see an opening and a dog is blocking the opening and eachtime i come to this i wonder what is behind the dog what is the dog hiding? but ne way if ne of you know about this please put it up on the board im going to continue my search about this and if i find out i will post it but until then ttfn (ta ta for now).
