| | Femi from LAGOS NIGERIA says (23/Jun/2005): | The first time i played the game i was amazed.I haven't played tenchu1, but i know it will be good,tenchu2 is a good game and its characters are great RIKIMARU,AYAME and TATSUMARU.I also like the baddies like KAGAMI,MOTOTIDE and SUZAKU.I would like to get a playstation2 to play tenchu3.My friends at school tells me about tenchu3 i only look at them.I like the sounds of game the graphics of the game, the game easy and the story line is great. The best part of the game is the stealth attack because it kills the enemy faster than wasting time figthing them. Its good there is water because the enemy can't go into it.The moves are good and also the movies.
| BETTER THAN THE FIRST | | Oscar Vazquez from National City California USA says (21/Mar/2005): | I really enjoyed this game the first time I played it. I really thought that it was better than the first game, because it had better graphics, three characters to choose from, more items, and best of all, the three playable characters had different storylines that are connected to each other in some way, so every character had their own story to tell. The only reason that I didn't give it a 10 is because the grapling hook was really bad here, and the story was kind of silly. The stealth kills were really awesome for all three characters. There is also more "movies" in tenchu 2 than in tenchu 1.
| The best game I ever played. | | steven from Brainerd Minisota United States says (27/Nov/2003): | This game had better graphics than the first one. I beat the whole game in like, a half an hour.Come on it was actually a little easier than the first.{way easier}. I wonnder how easy it was for the rest of you guys. This is an addicting game.
| It's awesome but they could have done better! | | Steve-O from Muscatine,Iowa says (2/Jul/2003): | I love the entire Tenchu series and i like the mission editor and the fact that you get to play as Tatsumaru, and all the new items that you get those are pretty cool. But what i dont like about the second one and the first is that if your running away from an enemy and you want to turn a sharp corner, you have to stop and turn that directionit get really annoying another thing i didnt like was the fact that the game was so short. I mean im used to long role-playing games that usually take up around 75-80 hours. But i beat this game with all three characters in one day that was dissapointing. Also the music in the first one is really good. I thought it was fun tho for as long as it lasted but i thought that the graphics were pretty choppy and could have been better. i just wish that i had more missions with each character, but the cinematic's were awesome. I also liked all the new assassinations that you could do. i did like however that the guards will dodge projectiles that you throw at them that was kool, but i wish they didnt stop looking for you just because you jump in the water and then all of a sudden your head goes underwater and a tube appears, i mean they should have made the enemies have more intelligence. But i did the the way you can drag bodies so that they wont be seen by patrolling guards. But all in all i say its a great game and was worth buying!
| love it | | A gamer from uk says (30/May/2003): | I think that tenchu 2 is one of the greatest games around i mean you can make mission up on you own also the story modes are excellent wah man that game is really cool i would love if a tenchu 4 came out that would be really cool man i love tenchu

| | Onikage from LA says (2/Apr/2003): | I want to thank Tenchu makers for making this game because if it wasn't for them I think it would not be the same with out the Game. any wasys Tenchu 2 rocks and also part 1 they are a great ninjas dream. Tenchu 3 will be even hotter it will blow gamers away out of our world. Tenchu 1 and 2 is the best ninja games in PXS.
| best game for anything ever!! | | Jimbob from England leicestershire says (26/Mar/2003): | i don't care what any one else says because there the best games ever, tenchu 1, 2 and 3 are all perfect because you have so many stealth kills and combo's,it's good how the enemies mind shows up what there thinking and how far away they are. everyone who says there not perfect are too fussy and want every little thing looking right. anyway i think it's perfect!
| A Must Have!!!! | | PHIL from PA says (15/Feb/2003): | Whether you payed the first one or not, the TENCHU series is the best ninja games ever made in the history of gaming. No one has even begun to come close to this. It is everything I ever wanted a ninja game, sure ninja gaiden was fun, and maybe wrath of black manta touched base a little, but the TECHU series submerses you into the world of the shinobi!!
| tenchu 2 ROCKS!!!!!! | | ray from austraila says (30/Aug/2002): | What can i say it is awesome i have never played tenchu 1 but if its as good number 2 its worth buying but some things like music, how some boss guys you hurt em half way and you have won that level but its cool how mission editor so its a awsome game so if you see it on shelves buy it
| Tenchu 2: dumbed down, but still fun | | JackMonkey from Alabama, USA says (19/Jun/2002): | After thoroughly enjoying the first Tenchu game, I was hoping to be blown away by Birth of the Stealth Assassins. I wasn't blown away, per se, but I was still quite impressed by the sequel. Tenchu 2 definitely has its good points. The story is more involving, the ninjas get to do more things, Tatsumaru's missions are great (when unlocked), and it's pretty cool to try and make your own level. The bosses are still enemies, and not puzzles that hit you, as in a lot of other adventure games. (I've become a particular fan of the evil Suzaku) But most importantly, it's FUN, and that's what good games are all about. This isn't the perfect game, however. The AI is a little too stupid for my tastes (although I love the fact that I can still get a stealth kill after I rolled 2 feet in front of the guy) The music isn't as good as the first. And running around in the middle of the day in some levels kind of kills the atmosphere of being a stealthy ninja. Overall, Tenchu 2 is still worth the money I paid for it, but play the Tenchu 1 first. And I can't wait for Tenchu 3!
| tenchu deserves 10 stars | | hell crow from in tenchu, a playstation says (2/Nov/2001): | #1.Tenchu1 rocks
#2.Tenchu2 rocks
#3.Tenchu3 should be a legend for all gamers
#4.great graphics
#5.great story its based on.
#6.its a good challenge.
#7.ok this is getting annoying i imagine so THIS GAME IS THE BEST IVE PLAYED, THOSE DUDES SHOULD KEEP MAKING IT!!!! I CANT WAIT FOR TENCHU3 1 AND 2 ARE THE BEST EVER
| Not that great! | | 2GOOD4U from Fantasy Land says (28/Jul/2001): | Sure there's the stage builder, and Rikimaru, but the music isn't as good as in Tenchu, the guards are more stupid(there looking strait at you and don't know you're there, everything looks too thin, Ayame has no dress sense here, and frankly I am not as in love with it as I am with Tenchu 1 which is a much better game, and is much more fun, Ayame has a better dress sense, Princess Kiku waddles when she walks, Oni-Kage shows up with that funky song, and the boss music is great, and last but not least, Rikimaru sounds like Chuck Norris!
Buy Tenchu 1, it's much better, and the whole thing is during the night, unlike the midday killing in this. And you gotta love that 'Rare herb', stage and more importantly music, in Tenchu 1.
The good thing is you get an extra character in Tenchu 2. Get tenchu 2 but don't be expecting a masterpiece, like Tench 1. It's the mistake I made when I bought this.
| Tenchu2:The best ninja game ever created (FINALY) | | Nick (Rikimaru3) from Montreal,Canada says (8/Jul/2001): | Since Tenchu 1,I became hooked to ninja games. But after playing a couple of ninja games,I found myself only liking Tenchu. So when I saw Tenchu2 on the shelves of Futureshop I didn't hesitate one second and I bought it.Beleve me,I wasn't disapointed at all. When I started playing I was ammazed. The Gameplay was incredible and fun like the first but even better. The sound was very good and the graphics were a little better than the first.Even today I'm still playing like it was my first time.I give this game 15/10,the best game yet. With MetalGearSolid of course.I'm hopping for Tenchu3 with 1000 fingers crossed.Tenchu2=a game for gods.Thank god the creaters of this incredeble game were ever born.Hopping for a Tenchu3.
| The besty ninja game ever! | | Mallocoth from Liverpool, England says (6/Jul/2001): | As a practitioner of Ninjutsu itself, i would say that this is a very accurate games. A lot of hard work must have gone into it to show 3 sides of the same storyline. This was very clever and wasnt expected by me!! Ayames attitude was great!!!- it was like a true ninjas! And i also loved playing Tatsumuras part... hehehe. GO AND BUY THIS GAME!!!!
| Awesome game just as good as one or better! | | Bonezes from NB,canada says (22/Feb/2001): | First of all, at first I didn't like Tenchu 2 at all. I thought I had completely wasted my money. But, then I got into it. The grappling like so many others say is awkward and crappy compared to the first one but i like it because it just adds to the realism. i find the load time is cumbersome but only because there's so much to the story. By that i mean the game has to load between the different scenes in the story and the actual level. this is really annoying if you just want to go out and slice someones throat but i can live with that. I find the boss's are easy if you know what to do. yes i suppose the normal enemies are a little dumb but that doesn't ruin the game. All in all there is only one TENCHU. And 2 just makes me crave for more gameplay.
| Best stealth game ever!!! | | UPRC from NS, Canada says (10/Feb/2001): | What can I say? I was a huge fan of the cartoony original Tenchu, than comes Tenchu 2... LOADED WITH BLOODY GOODNESS!!!
There are dozens of awesome stealth kills... The character
development in the title is top notch! Kagami is the perfect
villain and proves to everyone that is sexist that there are
good female villains (Breath of Fire, etc.). Also, the Mission
Editor of Tenchu 2 is a gem... But it had one downfall.
You could only place so many objects down... I was upset by that.
Now, how does this compare to the competition? Well, Metal Gear Solid graphically is better, and plays better... But Tenchu 2 is much longer and the story has many twists that will shock you!
Heres one, Tatsumaru loses his memory and falls in love with the woman he tried to kill (Kagami) and joins the Black Dawn, which she leads! Rikimaru and Ayame are basically unchanged from part 1, except Rikimaru's scar is absent and Ayame shows signs of immaturity. This is my stealth game of choice. Rent it, if you like it... BUY IT!!! This improves greatly on it's older brother.
| Great graphics!! | | James Lacey from England says (12/Jan/2001): | I was a master at Tenchu and enjoyed playing around with the debug mode. Tenchu was a potential classic, let down only by its rather unfinished look. When I saw the Final fantasy-esque opening sequence of Tenchu 2, I knew I was in for a treat. The prequel has a fantastic plot, loads of new stealth kills and many more levels. However, they have missed out on classic status again this time around with a whole new heap of problems. The characters are less responsive and move slower and THAT grappling hook is useless! The levels are too "cartoony" and spaced out (hardly any jump kills!!) the levels are too easy yet the bosses are too hard (due to limited hand to hand combat controls) and the underwater bit is pointless....this game isn't a classic but it still rocks! A MUST for any budding ninjas!
| More of the same, but still fun!!! | | Tony says (1/Jan/2001): | Well, after playing the first Tenchu to death, I grabbed this at first opportunity, and wasn't disappointed, well, not too much. The bugs that plagued the first game are still here. Enemies are very dumb, the grappling hook has a very limited use, and the camera..... oh my god...... I found it frustrating when fighting a boss, only to have the camera take over and completly kill my vision of the boss, resulting in my character taking some unnecessary hits, a few more moves would have helped, even though the bosses are still easy to beat. Having played and completed Tatsumaru's levels, I got a taste for the darkside, how about we get the chance to play as the bad guys for a change?!!! People may say that Ayame is no good, if you use her properly then she is effective, the only gripes I have about her is her attitude, not very ninja like. I also didn't feel the same atmosphere playing this compared to the first game. None of the levels really made me think that I was against everyone, except for Lord Toda's warcamp, it just didn't have the same feel if you know what I mean? The game did answer some of those questions from the first game such as Rikimaru's scar and the birth of Onikage. Where does Tenchu go from here? Does it fold up tent now or do we go head on against Lord Ghoda's next enemy, maybe some clan wars? Imagine that, a cold night as you creep ever closer to that guard, only to see in the corner of your eye a rival ninja that is looking for you and your companions. A great game nonetheless, but still very frustrating in some areas!!!
| An excellent ninja game for a change | | Gus from North Carolina, USA says (5/Dec/2000): | Tenchu 2: Birth of the Stealth Assassins is by far the best ninja game yet. Alot have come out this year but this one definately measures up to be the best of the best. There are some flaws, like how it only took me only a couple of days to beat it w/ Rikimaru and how some of the bosses are a little too easy this doesn't take away from it's excellent gameplay and stunning graphics. One thing that i noticed that i really enjoyed is that when you stealthfully kill a guard, right when it happens the screen seems to go into a semi fmv sequence to see the death happen. That really brought my attention to the game even more. The arsenal of weapons and the ability to move guards out of the site of others so you won't be seen just makes it even more interesting to play. This game really does need to make a series so the legend of the stealth assassins can live forever!
