Superb Arcade Remake for the PSX | | Paulius Maximus from Leicester, England says (29/Mar/2003): | The arcade version of this game in my local rock club instantly got me hooked. I then set out to find a copy for the playstation. it turns out that you cant get it anymore, so i turned to eBay, where i found it for just £5 (bargain at twice the price). People may say that shooting cardboard cutouts and glass ducks is boring, but beleive me, its not. Slowly working through the game to become better and better, and mastering each level on all difficulty settings is as much fun as playing House of the Dead 2 or Time Crisis. As an added bonus to the game, there is the special section of the arcade version, with more levels and even some great 3D shooting. The only downside to this game is the quest (which frankly is boring) but as far as i'm concerned, that part is just an added on extra for people who have completed the game too many times, that they want something else to do. I dont think it is possible to get bored of the Arcade section (or the special arcade section) but if i ever do, i'll most likely buy Point Blank 2 and 3 to feed my unhealthy obsession.
Great game all round, best played with a G-Con 45 light gun (which i also bought on eBay for just £5).
| Play it with a bunch of friends. | | 2GOOD4U from Fantasy Land says (16/Sep/2001): | As said in the earlier review playing might get boring, after a long while. But he forgot to say how much fun it is when you play with friends. And as for the terrorists looking like carboard cutouts, that just makes it more fun, like some circus shooting range, having it any other way will be too realistic, for a comic game, and killing real people in a game like this is down right wrong.
If the graphics were perfect, there would be no point to this, as this is a game for pure fun, and not admiring the view.
The music just fits in with all the circusish feel of the game.
The stage with the terrorists is acyually one of the best stages, allong with the ninja one.
Play with your friends, as this will increase your excitement. And as for the reviewer before me said for the game being too easy, try going further awway from the screen as sitting too close will make your shooting accuracy just too perfect, so move back, so you have more fun out of this title.
It's worth the money, and I don't really see any flaws in this one. The RPG is also quite a fun little game, absolutely halarious!
| BANG BANG i'm dead i've got point blank stuck in my head | | Simon Roake from London says (2/Jun/2001): | Point blank is know one of the oldest games that are still for sale but i enjoy shooting so i picked it up. The graffics are not as good as they could've been but it was still o.k. for playing. Most of the levels but there were the odd few that had me baffled at first but after two or three hours of playing the same levels i had mastered the game and started to get a bit board i think that they could have used better drawing for example the terrorists that youi have to shoot look like they are made of cardboard and that just makes a game more boring. So overall the game wasn't bad but it was easy to master, I would recommend this game to a person with a short temper because it was so easy that would not get angry.
